I've practically memorized this one it's so easy to read. The rhyming is perfect and the illustrations are very nice. It also introduces the child to how night and day rotate depending on where you are on the planet, widening a child's view of the world. Even better, it teaches that there are many cultures around the world and the very last two page spread lists and translates "Good Night" in different languages. It's fun learning for both the parent and the child, helping to create bedtime memories and opportunities for engagement together at the same time.

Interesting illustrations and good rhymes guide us around the world saying good night to a bunch of stuff.
The child in the book has creepy eyes, and some of the "good night" phrases in different languages at the end of the book have strange pronunciation explanations (particularly the French, which I speak, and the Vietnamese and Turkish, which I listened to in Google Translate).
The fact that it includes phrases in different languages in the first place is pretty cool, though.

This book is a cute night reading book for young children before they go to bed. It’s a rhythmic childrens book that takes you up to space and down to earth with cute illustrations. It’s nothing to remember and go back reading again, however.

The rhyme flows nicely, and I love the opportunity to say "good night" in 16 different languages at the end. Text resembles Goodnight Moon, naturescape illustrations are pleasant, child looks slightly haunted.

A very sweet good night book with very beautiful illustrations about the world and different things inside and outside the world including the planets, roads, waves, animals, etc.

This isn't especially memorable in the crowd of nighttime-related books, but the illustrations are vivid and colorful, and I enjoyed the unexpected panda.

I love the art and the rhymes in this book. I love joenesrth centered it is. Someone mentioned the child's face which is a little creepy but a child wouldn't mind it. The words and sentences are short so it makes for a quick bedtime store and a good book for kids to are just learning to read.

In rhyming text a young boy and a bird bid good night to the world. After pondering the fact that while it's night time where he is, it's dawn somewhere else, he proceeds to say good night to the sun, stars, and planets, and then moves to various geographical locales, including the desert and the mountains, and to the animals of the field and air until he wishes a good night's sleep to "every living thing" (unpaginated). This one would be a great read aloud. Backmatter includes ways to say good night in 16 different languages. The illustrations simply fill the pages with rich colors and hidden surprises for young readers to identify. For instance, the green and blue illustrations of ocean waves contain shadows of whales.

My five-year-old son picked this book out from the library last week.
Well, it's no Good Night, Moon. It follows the lilting rhyming scheme of Good Night, Moon, but it lacks some of the charm. At five, my son was too old for this book, and yet he still wants me to read Good Night, Moon every night.
The illustrations are bright, textured and rather intense. All those are great qualities, unless they are in a book that is supposed to lull a little one to sleep.

Following the pattern of Good Night Moon, Good Night World follows the bedtime mindset of one small child as they prepare for slumber. Carolyn Fisher's stunning, muted pallete nicely compliments the mood and tone of Perlman's text.

Very sweet. Would make a great bedtime story for toddlers and preschoolers. Reminded me of Goodnight Moon. Same rhythmic patterns as you read aloud.

A nice rhyming book about night time all around the world. Fit perfectly for our Night Family Story Time during the Summer Reading Program of "Dream Big Read." At the end of the book there is the word good night in about 20 languages.

Beautiful illustrations, lovely reverent text about the world and a list of goodnight in a wide variety of languages at the end. For my little 16 month old, having the same bird on every page made a fun "where's the bird" game on each page. Lovely goodnight book.

Reminds me of Good night Moon but child is saying good night to the world instead of just the things in the room.
Illustrations are lovely with great colors and details to share with young readers. Possible pajama storytime. Larger format makes it better than Good Night Moon for storytime.

Rhyming text will take you around the world to say goodnight. Easily adapted for STEM (animals, planets, weather). I am trying to incorporate more good night stories into storytime and this one will work pretty well.
