S. E. Green is the award-winning and best-selling author of young adult and adult books. She grew up in Tennessee where she dreaded all things reading and writing. If you kill someone who deserves to die, is it murder or justice?

For teen serial killer, Lane, striving to be normal can’t stop her addiction ... stalking and killing deviants. Then one mistake forces her to grudgingly accept a sidekick and she has to decide if she can trust him or not.

I enjoyed the first two books in this series and S.E. Green does not let me down.

It’s exhilarating to follow Lane. She’s one tough chick who also has a soft side for her family — a stepdad, half brother and sister. When Lane has to be brutal, she’s gruesomely so and while it’s gulp-inducing there’s a secret thrill in watching her get away with it.

Cliffhanger ending so be prepared for another sequel, yay!

*I was chosen by the author to be a beta reader. I received an advance ebook copy for review. All thoughts are completely honest and my own.*

FQ: "Incompetence is rewarded more often than not, and he’s about to win the gold medal in stupidity."

Lane is back! I was so excited about this book. While reading this book we saw the difference in Lane. She's a grown up so much from the first two books that she felt like a completely different character. This entire book kept me guessing and I didn't trust anything or anyone. Lane isn't the only character with a major development. I enjoyed the story immensely.

That being said, I felt the story was a bit slow to get to the point. New characters were introduced and I've yet to come to terms on how I feel about them.

Can't wait to reread the final copy!

Man this only the 2nd book I was a beta for and I have to say that after rereading book one and two that this continuing story of Lane turning 18 and becoming an adult was one I was hoping for! There were a few things in it that seemed off to me. But that didn’t take enough away to make the book any less than 5 full stars. Everyone we have come to love was there as well as a few new characters that will blow you away.

I can not wait until the full ARC band then Finished copy comes out so I can see the changes the author made.

If you love Lane don’t miss this story and we’ll beware there’s one killer cliffhanger at the end!

Wow! The third book in the series does not disappoint! Lane’s getting older and is facing new challenges. This one dives into a lighter side while also keeping her dark side alive and well. Watching Lane grow as a character is amazing because it’s completely relatable!!! I can’t wait to read more from this series!!!

“Life is supposed to be pretty routine, right? You graduate high school, work a summer job… help out at home, [and] get back into stalking…”

Lane has been trying to get back to what appears to be “normal” for a while now, if only she could shake off the annoyances of her family. Up until recently, all her kills have been warranted (e.i. her mother, her aunt, even her own copycat), but the last kills was purely accidental. Turns out that she killed the son of a District Attorney, who was ruthlessly known for putting away the bad guys. And the guy she killed was known as a vigilante on the hunt for a serial killer, who apparently has re-surfaced in the eyes of the public. Not only is Lane dealing with guilt over her latest kill, but she’s also following a killer’s trail to make him pay.

The idea of a killer-killing killer was just an ironic and clever twist. It’s something you usually don’t see every day.

Written in 1st person POV, story is a simple chronicle of a witty teen’s investigative hunt. I enjoyed her sharp and sarcastic mind along with her questioning morals on righteousness and normality.

“If things would’ve gone as planned, Scott might still be alive, I wouldn’t be on the Butler’s radar… and I wouldn’t be chasing a clock trying to beat the D.A. and her team in finding Teddy.”

Things become more complicated when a dead body turns up and Lane has to dispose it and protect someone’s identity. Story follows a series of strange events with secrets revealed in every corner.

Readers will be entranced by Lane’s time-ticking search, and, oddly enough, they will root for this killer-killing killer and her kind of justice, even if her justice was a little too violently graphic at times. Her heart may not be pure, but it bleeds for the innocent victims and secretly lurks beneath a load of wicked darkness. Her need to “re-balance and unbalanced world” was altruistic. However, was this true justice…or just a killer among? And who were the real monsters? Quick, easy, and captivating!

Now the family of the man she accidentally murdered is hunting the killer, and Lane is forced to cover her tracks by befriending them. Because everyone knows you keep your enemies close.
But are they really enemies? Lane isn’t so sure.
As the plot surrounding “The Strangler” tightens around her like a noose, for the first time Lane is tempted to trust someone with her darkest secrets. But will breaking down her boundaries bring salvation, or doom?

Lane is back and is now turning 18.
I love following the story of Lane. In this one we get to see her transitioning into adulthood.
I love how the story is written from her POV and we get to see into her thoughts and dilemas.
It's nice to see how the character has grown into herself more in this one as well.
If you have not read the first 2 you can still read this one as a standalone as there is some back story told but it won't spoil them if you wish to go back and read them afterwards.
I can't wait for the author to write more of Lane's story!!
Recommend reading.

This was my first exposure to this series, and it really does read well as a stand-alone novel. There is enough background information revealed that I didn't feel lost in the plot (although I expect I probably missed out on some of the finer points of character development).

There are a lot of really strong points about this book. The characters are all intriguing and well-developed - there were a couple I would have liked to have learned more about, but I anticipate that they may reappear in future installments. The pace moves along quickly - it's a fast read, and very entertaining. Since this is part of a series, there are some loose ends, but I expected that and I feel that the author made good choices in determining what to leave open-ended.

Some errors were noticeable and got on my nerves: comfortableness/uncomfortableness (should be comfort/discomfort), conscious (should be conscience), homonym mix-ups (e.g. too/to), and some weird punctuation.

All in all, this was a very good read and I'm definitely interested in reading more about these characters!

Decided to choose something completely out of my normal range from Voracious Readers Only as the description was intriguing. For a young adult novel, it's quite engaging and flows quickly, leaving you constantly curious, which is a hard task. I had no idea where the plotline would go at times and I was quite surprised at some of the descriptions that seemed more adult than young, so to speak, but were very neatly handled. All in all, it was a fast, entertaining read, even for someone outside the age range and I would highly recommend her as an author. If you are out of the age range, however, I would add that the facility with which the killer accomplishes the work, and the judgment behind it, is not exactly realistic, but the constraints for the genre are different and the author fulfills them well!

I would recommend this book to anyone that has time on their hands and is wanting to read a murder book and is willing to read for a while at a time. I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a quick read and to anyone that plans on only reading a little bit at a time. I liked how the author worded certain parts due to the fact that if they would’ve worded it like a normal part in the book, it wouldn’t have fit that part in the book as good and would’ve confused the reader. Another thing that the author did that I liked is that they made it so that you wanted to keep reading, even when your teacher tells you to stop. Something that the author could’ve done better is that they could’ve made some parts, they decided to drag some things out that didn’t need to be. Another thing that the author could’ve done better was at the end of the chapter they could’ve made it kind of fit in with the beginning of the next chapter due to the fact that they didn’t have certain names or main ideas for the chapters, they were just numbered.

Received a complimentary copy of this novel through Voracious Readers Only in exchange for an honest review.
Although this is the third in the series it can be read alone as Lane does explain a little of the back story, although not enough that it doesn’t dampen the enthusiasm for reading the previous instalments.
It’s a very readable novel, the plot is not overly complicated, a teenage girl rights the wrongs by killing criminals who the justice system lets slip through the net, rather like a juvenile “Dexter”.

A sociopath with both a conscience and capable of real meaningful love. Thanks to the author and Voracious Readers Only I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Being the first in the series that I have read, all I can say is that I am literally dying to read books 1 and 2. Fast paced, humorous and action packed, Lane is my kind of anti-hero. Kudos to SE Green, on both the writing style and ability to keep the pages turning. Thank you!!!

Some slight editing errors

But others than that, this was a really great series. The characters that were supposed to be likable, were, and the ones who were the antagonists were wonderfully written as well.

I think my favorite character, though, was Daisy. I kind of thought there was more to her than she was originally portrayed to be. In fact, I hope the series picks up with her as the (or one of the) main characters.

An incredibly engrossing thriller that compares to watching a scary movie - no, the book is always better. These thrillers would make great movies though! A compelling read with tons of action, wonderful characters except for, you know, the bad ones. Overall, this is a fabulous thrill ride.

This novel stands a read alone, which is good because it's where i started, it drew me in right away telling a story of a seemingly normal teenage girl, family, job, planning on college, boyfriend, best friend. Normal.

I loved the first two books, something about this one wasn't as dazzling for me. I still love the characters, but the plot was a little lacking for me. Will I continue the series? Totally.
