There are plenty of resources out there telling us what foods we should and shouldn’t eat, but the real challenge is HOW to change! Change Bites uncovers the uncomfortable space between the BEFORE and AFTER pictures in a food and health transformation.
Faced with neuropathy, chronic digestive problems, a weak immune system, and a host of other stressful health problems, Marissa was forced to change 90% of her diet. Overwhelmed and confused, she began to apply the best practices used so many times in her change management consulting career helping organizations around the world. Who knew the secret to changing your diet and health was there all along! Now, you too can use this unique, step-by-step process Marissa uses with her health coaching clients, to guide your own transformation, one bite at a time.
Thank you Change Bites amd Netgalley for an ARC in return for my honest review.
This book gives tips and methods on how to embrace more healthy habits into daily life. It does so by using strategies from business models. It is easy to read and has some good ideas,
Part guidebook, part workbook, Change Bites walks an individual through their own personal journey to finding the eating plan and lifestyle plan that will best support them. Marissa does tell readers WHAT eating plan they need to do, doesn't tell them what to eat or not to eat but instead provides a plan that allows individuals to work through their diet making small changes to help them figure out what does and doesn't work for them.
Instead of making a huge sweeping change this book encourages you to make those smaller changes - the changes that likely will make a bigger impact on your overall health anyway.
I was provided a copy of this book in order to review on my Instagram account but was not required or asked to leave this review on Goodreads. All opinions shared are my own.
For anyone looking to make overall changes to the role food plays in your life, this is a must-read. The author offered valuable and interesting information and tips regarding making an entire lifestyle change, not just "dieting." Offering management-style principles, the author provided five different strategies or steps with three tasks for each step. The activities and suggestions were simple, to the point, and realistic. My only issue at all, and this is small, was I wish that the tone would have been a bit more casual or light-hearted at times. Otherwise, a very interesting and informative read!
*Thanks to NetGalley for providing this review copy in exchange for my honest review!
Change Bites is composed as a planning journal with periodic activities accompanied by useful tips and information sections. Marissa goal is to share a practical and interesting process in order to be more healthy and comfortable relationship with the food, the body and the mind.
Change Bites was a book which aimed to apply change management principles from business to healthy eating. The principles were clear enough and applied well to the fitness journey. The book was short and sweet and never ventured into fluff.
The change management process had 5 steps and the author had suggested 3 tasks to help with each step. It was well done. The examples provided were actually sensible, not gag-worthy at all. A unique approach but a sustainable one.
I received a free copy from Netgalley. This doesn't affect my opinion in any way.
