This is the perfect Christmas romance! It's a well-written second chance romance. Cassie and Andy are so well-developed that the reader can easily believe their actions. I loved Andy's Granny; she adds a lot of humor to the book. The plot moves along quickly, and the dialogue flows naturally. I enjoy Franky Brown's writing style and hope to read more of her work. I recommend this book to all clean romance readers and to Christmas fans, like myself. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review an ...more

It's hard to put my finger on what exactly impressed me about this book, but the fact that I went in expecting a run of the mill didn't-love-it-didn't-hate-it Christmas read and came out with a solid four star glow means I was definitely impressed. :) There wasn't much to make the plot stick out from your usual second-chance romance, but somehow the characters wormed their way into my heart and stuck there. Unlike some books I've read, I didn't have any trouble understanding or sympathizing with ...more

Writer Cassie Winston broke DJ Andy McKay’s heart when she refused his on air marriage proposal, took a job with an international travel magazine, and left him behind. She’s back to promote her new book, help her aunt out, and to win back Andy’s heart. Andy’s hilarious granny helps Cassie win him back by giving them the roles of young Scrooge and his love interest Belle in her A Christmas Carol play. Cassie should have at least talked with Andy before she left, but his proposal wasn’t very roman ...more

This is a cute, second chance Christmas romance. Andy works at a radio station. Though it’s Christmas time, he’s a bah-humbug due to a horrible breakup with his girlfriend of 8 years when he proposed last Christmas Eve. When she returns unexpectantly to Romance, Oregon, his heart instatnly engages, but he won’t allow himself to have a perpetual girlfriend ever again. He wants marriage. Cassie does not. Probably she never will trust him enough with that part of her heart. He can’t do the heartbre ...more

A warm second chance romance

Last Christmas Cassie broke up with Andy, because she wanted more adventure. Ever since she left him, he has been a bit of a grouch. If she thinks she can just waltz back into his life and all will be immediately forgiven and forgotten, she’s wrong. His Granny Mary convinces him to take part in the Christmas play ‘A Christmas Carol’. You can guess who else one of the actors is!

I must say, I didn’t take to Cassie right away. She was too unaware of his feelings, too sel

Such a nice story of forgiveness and realizing there are two sides of a story. A stubborn man and the and his ex girlfriend who traveled for a year after turning down his proposal. She comes back hoping for reconciliation, he refuses. At first. With some meddling from his grandmother and working together in the upcoming Christmas Carol play those feelings can't be turned off. Add some Christmas magic and bazinga hearts may heal and a future may be possible. I received a complimentary copy and I ...more

Old Hurts Do Heal!

Do you remember when boys would pull your ponytails when they liked you? Well some little boys take it a little too far! That's what happened in this story and it caused a big hurt that had lasted way too long. This was full of laughs and smiles as well as times when you wanted to strangle someone. Lol. I was truly in the town of Romance as I read! My favorite character was the grandmother! Everyone should read this!!

Sigh. This is one is perfect for your Hallmark Christmas movie fan. There isn't a Christian message in this one, but it is absolutely clean and absolutely adorable. Everything, from the cast to the setting, had the cozy Christmas feel to it. There was Dickens and the Christmas Carol everywhere in this novella, which made me love it even more.  ...more

A sweet second chance romance at Christmas. Cassie and Andy have loved each other for a long time, but fear gets in the way. This is a second chance romance in a second chance story as Andy and Cassie are both part of the play A Christmas Carol by Dickens. It is beautifully done and makes me wish I could see this rendition of Dickens.

A treat in the form of a Christmas Carol being reenacted in Romance. Two characters are going to find their way to the future despite a past and they get a lot of help from family.
