Heath was never my brother.

Nor my step brother, or any other relation our family tried to impose on us.

He was always just Heath, and at the end he was my Heath.
Ten years ago he disappeared, and within three years of his absence he’d taken over Hollywood.

The world my father built.

The world he wasn’t good enough for.

The world he’d been denied when he was told he couldn’t hav

Gah!! The minute I read the blurb and saw the gorgeous cover for Hollywood King I knew I needed to read it. I thought this story was sexy, intense and riveting. Heath and Cathy were so fiery together and I loved their strong connection! I could not get enough!

Written as a modern retelling of Wuthering Heights, Hollywood King gives us the steamy story of Heath and Cathy, adopted siblings and first loves. But after that gut punch of an ending (from the Hollywood Princess novella), ten years have g

I was drawn to this book by the cover and then the blurb. Sometimes that draw can be wrong.

Second-chance romance and Hollywood could have been a huge win for this one. Instead, Heath and Cathy's "romance" was almost non-existent. How do you go from being separated for 10 years (and really no explanation of why they were separated or why Heath was pushed from their family and Cathy refused to acknowledge it) to "OK, I still want to have sex with you." There should have been angst and drama, but a

In my opinion it was entirely too easy to get swept up in and swept away by this amazing read. I felt that the author did a terrific job when taking the classic "Wuthering Heights" story, modernized it and added some very enticing twists. Cathy and Heath's story offers a engaging blend of romance, drama, angst, heartache, emotional turmoil and a hint of forbidden. I loved both these characters so much and I thought that there was such an underlaying layer of sweetness to this steamy, beautiful, ...more

***I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review:

2.5/5 stars and some light spoilers here: Overall a satisfying, quick read. I could see how this book would work for a particular mood, if you feel like an angsty childhood second chance at love story with lots of family drama and dom-sub elements. It's perfect for a quick fix or a palate cleanser when you need a break between heavier books or during a longer series.

I looooooove a good celebrity romance. Part of the rea
Hollywood King is a great book! I loved Heath and Cathy! I would have given this book 5 stars but 2 things stopped me from doing that. One was I felt like Heath and Cathy’s 10 year break from each other wasn’t explained well. They could have easily seen each other. The second reason is I felt their reunion was anticlimactic. It was a very short book so if these had been explained a bit more it wouldn’t have made it too much longer. Other than that overall I loved the story and the characters. I ...more

Hollywood King by Monica Corwin
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
*Clapping* GAH!! I love the fact Monica takes classic literature and revamps it to modern times while also giving it her “spin”.

This is the story of Heath and Cathy. Heath and Cathy are step siblings, but their attraction to each other doesn’t care. After Heath is declared not good enough for Cathy or the family and kicked out he makes his own way in Hollywood and becomes a king. Taking the industry by storm and far surpassing the fame of the family that rejected him he’s on top of the world until a phone call from the hospital. Cathy is a doctor living the life she’s always wanted until she faints in the hall one day. I ...more

This book is a second chance romance.
Hollywood King’s is the story about Heath and Cathy. They’re adopted siblings, who fall in love. They end up being separated for 10 years.

In the past 10 years Heath and Cathy had developed the life they wanted for each other separately.
When Cathy faints in the hospital, Heath receives the call as her emergency contact. Which brings them back into each other lives.
When they’re reunited again is like their love, fire and passion haven’t distinguished.

This is a modern day telling of the book Wuthering Heights. Heath was adopted by Cathy’s father and since then there was an attraction between them. But Heath never pursued her ... he only protected her. After a 10 year separation, Heath returns to Cathy when their father dies. This time he refuses to let her go.

The cover and blurb of this book attracted me to it ... but unfortunately it fell short. I didn’t understand exactly why Heath left for 10 years. And really he didn’t leave, because appa

Okay so when I read the blurb and saw the cover of Hollywood King I thought yes this is definitely one for me, the story line had so much potential but I have to say after getting to the end I am left with lots of unanswered questions.

Cathy and Heath are stepsiblings and in love. Cathy is dealing with health issues and after being together Heath walks away vowing he will be back. Fast forward ten years and Cathy and Heath are forced back into each other's lives but things and people change can t

Who didn't fall in love with Heathcliff of Wuthering Heights? This is a retelling in all it's modern day glory. Monica Corwin has given us all the emotional turmoil and angst, drama, romance and the forbidden; making the reader want to fall into the pages with each turn. It was steamy with a mix of sweetness to it. Making for a classical retelling of a wonderful story. Her characters are relatable with a story and plotline that seamlessly blend together.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is my first book by this author and really enjoyed it.
Cathy is having the worst day ever. It's the day of her dad's wake and she has to face her first love, who left her ten years ago and didn't look back. Then she gets the dreaded call nobody wants. How can life finally give her a chance with Heath only to take it away?
This was definitely a great read and I would recommend it.

This is A retelling of Wuthering Heights. I had not read The original story, but I liked this one very much.
Heath and Cathy are ideal for each other. They were separated for ten years and that was devastating! After an accidental meeting, The hotness goes off The charts!
Will they manage to overcome hints ahead? And what secrets are hiding close to The surface?

I loved Hollywood King! Heath and Cathy are two family by adoption and each of them are stubborn and can't admit to what they want. They each have accomplished so much and feel they do not deserve each other. Monica classic story and refreshed it into a modern story. While parts could have been so much more it is still a very good quick romance read. ...more

This is my first read from this author and it was good. Heath and Cathy were good together.
I didn’t like Cathy in the beginning, she was very selfish. I could see her point and why she did it,
she Grew on me in the end. The storyline was really good but the ending felt a bit rushed.

Hollywood King is sexy and entertaining. This was my first book by Monica Corwin, but I will be reading more very soon. This dual POV, second chance romance was very easy to get into and I thoroughly enjoyed the story that was told. Cathy and Heath have been in-love with one another since they were young even though Heath was adopted by Cathy’s Hollywood royalty family. Their relationship is fraught with heartache—and the angst junkie I am loved every moment. 😉 Cathy’s story was heartbreaking. G ...more
I received this eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

After being left by Heath, Cathy has spent the last 10 years living her own life. She's not using her family's money, but rather went to med school and is making her own money by being a dotor and helping people.

But then Heath shows back up in her life. And Cathy has changed so much. Now she wants nothing to do with him, and just wants him to leave. Excpet Heath isn't taking no for an answer, and Cathy can only resists the ma

I love everything this authors writes. Her retellings are sexy and fun and THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING.

The cover alone was worth grabbing the book. I started it with intentions of reading a bit before dinner and finishing it after and that was not what happened. Once I started I absolutely couldn't stop.

This is a retelling of Wuthering Heights and it was PERFECT. She took it into our century and had all the twists that I didn't see coming. Cathy and Heath were amazing. I love the angst and drama tha

Classic angst, made modern

I'm unfamiliar with the original story, so found this to be a bit too much angst. He wants her, she wants him, she's ill, years pass without contact, they meet again, swooning, spanking (!), steamy scenes, drama, and HEA.

The writing is decent, but could use another round of editing. (Side note, this is the second book I've reviewed this month with a quacking heroine. Perhaps I'm missing something). An example:

A moving story of love at all costs. It is a little sad but hopeful. Cat and Heath struggle throughout the book against people and situations that keep them apart. Their love for each other is heartfelt and true but has also led to some very heartbreaking moments in their lives. In the end hope for the future and love wins.

Hollywood King is a great retelling of Wuthering Heights with its own little twist.

There are a lot of emotional aspects to this novel, but it was also steamy and romantic. Cathy and Heath were passionate, and I loved their chemistry.

Hollywood King was a great, steamy, dramatic and romantic retelling of the classic. I thoroghly enjoyed it, and I can't to see what the author brings next.

Quick read

A cute quick read. Hollywood King could use a little depth in the characters. This is similar to a novella. So a quick happy romance... This is for you.
