In this fourth book of the series Bailey has just wrapped shooting on her new cable television show and is headed home to Harvest, Ohio. When she gets home she receives a call from the towns notorious busy body, she wants Bailey to create an 8 foot bunny out of toffee. She agrees to the challenge and hopes that she hasn't gotten herself into something that she might not be able to accomplish in such a short period of time. While taking a walk around the park to look at all the festivities that a ...more

It won't come as a surprise to those of you who read my reviews that Amanda Flower is one of my favorite cozy mystery authors. She is such a wonderful storyteller that as a reader I am immediately immersed into her stories and transported to whatever fictional town she has created. I am particularly fond of her Amish mysteries, and this series is no exception. Let's start with the characters. They are well rounded, dimensional characters that come off the page as genuine. Her research into Amish ...more

Toxic Toffee is the latest humorous tale in An Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. It can be read alone if you have not had the pleasure of reading the other books in the engaging series. Toxic Toffee has Bailey back in Harvest, Ohio after her six weeks in New York filming her new cooking show. Before she has time to take her bag home, Margot Rawlings pulls Bailey aside to discuss her making a very large toffee rabbit for Easter Days. Of course, it needs to be at least six feet tall or maybe just a ...more

TOXIC TOFFEE, the fourth book in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery Series, is a joy to read. Amanda Flower’s delightfully developed characters, well researched setting, and smartly executed mysteries make her books among my favorites, and TOXIC TOFFEE did not disappoint.

Candy maker Bailey is back in Ohio, which is really starting to feel like home, from New York just in time for the town’s Easter celebration. Tasked with making a larger than life toffee rabbit for display in the town square, she is b

Toxic Toffee by Amanda Flower is the 4th book in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series, and another great story. I really love this series, and am looking forward to the next book in the series. Bailey King left her job as a New York chocolatier to return to Harvest, OH to help run Swissman Sweets, a candy shop her Amish grandmother owns. It is Easter time, and Bailey has been recruited to build a giant toffee bunny, for the Springtime Festival that lasts a week. When the keeper/owner of the live ...more

This is really turning into a spectacular series - I picked this series up on a whim and have just grown to love it and the characters [even the ones that drive me insane :::coughcoughJulietcoughcough:::] and it was no different with the latest installment.

This is the fourth book in the Amish Candy Shop Mysteries by Amanda Flower.

This book was just okay for me. I think the whole Amish scene was a bit too tame for my action adventure covert ops missions taste. I am not saying the mystery wasn’t good or compelling. This was just a more wholesome cozy mystery than many I have read lately. The setting and Amish life characters almost force this to be a bit more of a backwards read.

There is more visiting and chocolate candy making than actual

When I requested Toxic Toffee I hadn’t actually read any of the other books in the series, but it’d been on my TBR for a while. Seeing the ARC reminded me that I’d been interested, so I decided to try out the first one whether I got approved or not. I read all three previous books in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series in the two days it took for my ARC request to be approved and started Toxic Toffee as soon as I received it.

I have always like an Amanda Flower book and this one has given me a lot of enjoyment. The antics of the animals bring smiles and laughter to the tale. Bailey King and Charlotte have returned to Harvest after completing a six week stay in NYC filming Bailey's cooking show. They arrived to find the greens full of rabbits. Enter Puff, a special rabbit. We now have goats, Jethro, a mischievous pig and Midnight, and orange tabby Bailey and Margot are talking to Puff's owner who collapses and dies in ...more

Toxic Toffee is the fourth book in Amanda Flower’s An Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. This is an easy to read confectionery cozy set in the Ohio Amish country, with well-developed characters, a sense of family and community, and an interesting and entertaining mystery. The story flows smoothly, the well-plotted mystery is interesting, and there are plenty of clues for readers to sift through.

TOXIC TOFFEE, the fourth book in An Amish Candy Shop Mystery series by Amanda Flower, is the first I’ve had the chance to read. It was so thoroughly enjoyable, I’m looking forward to starting at the very beginning and reading through the previous three books. Ms. Flower provides an intriguing look at the Amish culture in Ohio, one I know scant little of. I felt like she effectively wove their society into the story in a realistic manner without detracting from the plot. I enjoyed how the protago ...more

This is such a fun mystery series. Bailey King is the granddaughter of an Amish family. Her father left the faith but Bailey has come back to Harvest, Ohio, to help her Amish grandmother run the family sweets shop.

Bailey is a chocolatier of the first notch but is glad to have left the fast city life of New York City behind her for most of the year.

This is the fourth full length book in the series (there is also a 3.5 short length novel as well.) I started by reading a few pages in this book and

Three things I've learned to expect from an Amanda Flower book are murder, mayhem, and a multitude of animals to fall in love with. I certainly wasn't disappointed in Toxic Toffee because it offered all these things and more. This book had me smiling (and laughing) from beginning to end.

The small town of Harvest is all abuzz when rabbit farmer Stephen Raber dies of a heart attack (or is it?) right in front of the townspeople. Never fear though because Bailey King is on the case. Much to the dism

Bailey King has once again gotten herself into a sticky situation. (Pun intended) Bailey seemed to always be around when a murder happens, and much to her police officer boyfriend, she is far too curious and far too quick to investigate on her own. He fears for her safety as she plows ahead to find the killer. The Amish in the community trust Bailey where they don't tend to trust the police.

Adorable, if you can say that about a murder mystery. The addition of Puff to the series was just the right touch.

Amanda Flower writes with such knowledge of the Amish and does a fantastic job of making the reader feel apart of Harvest, Ohio. You can almost smell and taste the chocolate creations from Swissmen Sweets.

Toxic Toffee is perfectly paced and the red herrings are perfectly spaced throughout. A wonderfully entertaining read.

I love anything Amanda Flower writes. Her Amish series, this book included, is a wonderful look into rhe Amish world. It shows just how the same we can be when you remove all the differences. It shows as a society we can look past those differences and work together to make life great.

Her plot is well written with characters that are loveable. I cannot wait to read the next in the series.

Toxic Toffee, the latest book in Amanda Flower’s Amish Candy Shop mystery series, opens in New York City. Bailey King is wrapping up filming of her television show Bailey’s Amish Sweets and with her is her friend and co-worker Charlotte Weaver. New York City is unlike anything Charlotte has experienced in her life. Charlotte has grown up in the Old Order communities of Holmes County, Ohio; comm

I really enjoyed this novel! While it is the 4th in the series, it can be read as a standalone. Set in Holmes County, Ohio, where most folks in the town of Harvest are Amish, it sounds like a wonderful place to live. One thing I thought while reading it was: What would it be like to grow up Amish, where the good of the community is valued over the rights of the individual? To do things because they benefit everyone, even if sacrificing for oneself? Bailey, the granddaughter of Clara King, Amish, ...more

Amanda Flower, a USA Today bestselling and Agatha Award-winning mystery author, started her writing career in elementary school when she read a story she wrote to her sixth grade class and had the class in stitches with her description of being stuck on the top of a Ferris wheel.
