I’m so incredibly proud and excited for Jolie Vines as her first book goes out into the world. As a romance lover, I’ve read tons of books with a Highland hero, but interestingly, almost all of them were historical or involved time travel. This is my first contemporary Highlander and Callum gave me everything I wanted.

As the story begins, Mathilda is contemplating marriage to her father’s business partner. Not because she loves him—she barely knows the man. But she desperately wants to build a h

What a fantastic read! I absolutely fell in love with Callum and Mathilda's story. This was a book about soulmates. About love conquering all. Add to that a Scottish castle, a sexy-as-sin laird and a smart, feisty heroine and you've got absolute perfection. I found myself thinking about this story, about these characters after reading them, to the point that I slowed my pace, not wanting it to end. I cannot wait for the next in the series! A Must Read!

This book will get hooked and anxiously waiting for the next book in the series. What a great story, the characters are amazing and the secondary characters that are introduced - I cannot wait to read their stories and see how this series moves forward. I recently read a couple short stories that took place in Ireland and loved them being in the present day. This book just cemented my draw and love for the country and the history that it holds waiting to be seen and shared. Laird Callum McRae ha ...more

5 Cranky Stars

Let me just say right now, for me to give a romance novel 5 stars is a rarity. Normally I feel they are too predictable and wishy washy. Not so with this one though. I loved the characters. They were strong willed and determined and cared about their families.

Mathilda is the daughter of a shrewd businessman. He is a self-made millionaire and proud of it. However, he rules his family with an iron fist. When Mathilda was ten, her sister was born and she has always felt like Scarlet’s

Contemporary Tale of Opposing sides of two warring families coming together in the name of 💘love.

The book reads somewhat like a historical highlander romance, but maybe I've been reading too many of those lately! Love💘 is timeless, too!

Storm the Castle (Marry the Scot #1), Jolie Vines's debut novel, is a contemporary highlander romance told in dual POV featuring a smart, independent, feisty heroine and a strong, sexy, Scottish laird.

The book opens with Mathilda Storm contemplating a marriage of convenience to her father's business partner, Dominic Hanswick, a man she does not love. Without giving away any details I'll just say that they both have reasons for considering a union to be advantageous. But when Mat

I am totally in love with this Scot! This was a fantastic story from start to finish.

The hero is a hard working, loyal family man who really wants a family of his own. The heroine, goal is to heal her family, even if it means making some big life sacrifices.

When these two are together sparks fly. The romance seems to be a whole family adventure. It is a great read!

I happen to know this author personally and when she showed me the cover I had no clue what the stories would be about but I was immediately on board because come on (go ahead and take a look and then come back to finish reading this) that guy is...nice.

Mathilda and Callum are a fun couple but the story is even better than they are together. To be blatantly honest here, I've not read a good story in quite a few months and I was thrilled that I started caring about these two early on. They were

Jolie Vines' Marry the Scot series will be a reader favorite for sure. Storm the Castle features a swoony hero who sweeps the heroine off her feet, even though she's scared to let go and really immerse herself at first. I love how different their families are - one a supportive, loving circle, the other a dysfunctional mess. It broke my heart to see how Mathilda struggled with overcoming the issues that her parents were responsible for.

Callum was a breath of fresh air when it comes to romance h

"I'll chase ye to the ends of the earth but only if I know you want it."

Mathilda Storm will do anything to take over responsibility for her younger sister even if that means entertaining the idea to enter into a marriage of convenience with her fathers business partner. She's at the point where she doesn't see any other choice, but an instant connection to the charming Scottish highlander Callum has her second guessing things. She gave up on fantasy

I love finding new authors, especially when it's at the beginning of a series and they're well written. I got this first book in the Marry the Scot series free for an honest review and am so glad I did as I loved it, started it yesterday afternoon and didn't sleep until I'd finished it. Firstly I love Scotland, it's one of our favourite places to visit on holiday so having a contemporary romance set in the highlands is definitely a plus. Storm the Castle was an intriguing story to me when I read the description, but I didn't know how much I was truly going to love it, and boy did I ever! It all starts with Mathilda Storm getting a marriage proposal from a man who worked with her father, and it wasn't one which was romantic, nope, it was a business arrangement, and the worst part about it, she was actually entertaining it because of wanting to get her younger sister out of her parents house. However, fate had other plans for her ...more

A veritable Wall of Highlander rescues Mathilda!

I have found a new favorite author! I absolutely loved every hilarious, heartwarming, frustrating, triumphant word in this brilliant novel. Callum is everything a girl could want in a book boyfriend, Mathilda is strong and sassy and more than able to hold her own against the men in her life, and the writing just couldn't be better. The first-person, alternating POV has a few cheeky, breaking-the-fourth-wall moments that splendidly draw the reader i

I received a review copy of this book from the author through Voracious Readers. A wonderful start to a series! I have never read anything by this author before, but I am definitely adding her to my list of favourite authors. I loved this book! The writing is brilliant - witty and sharp and flows perfectly. The characters were all so unique and engaging and so very alive - even the “villains” were perfect - and the various siblings, especially the teens, were priceless.

Mathilda is offered a deal to marry her father's business partner and she will be able to help her family out. The only thing, the marriage is a sham, she would have to give five years of her life with a man that wouldn't have anything to do with her. She can do that, its a small price if she is helping her sister out. That is until she has a run in with a huge highlander. When that run in becomes a second and third run in, Mattie knows this is fate stepping in, and

This is such a great romance. I thought this might have been a historical romance but it was not. However, it did not disappoint. The main storyline is about Mathilda and Callum. How they met and their increasing attraction to each other. There are some serious subplots in the story e.g. raising a family from a young age, running a business to keep a home and hearth for your family, having a child out of wedlock, who is your father? The bio dad or the one that raised you, debt and the repercussi ...more

I liked this one. Laird Callum McRae falls for Mathilda Storm at first sight. She takes a little longer, and has more going on in her life to keep them apart. When he invites her to see his castle, she is charmed, both by the man, his family, and the castle. Can she work through the obstacles in her life to find happiness in Callum's arms? Can Callum overcome the financial setbacks, caused largely by Mattie's father's firm, to feel he has something to offer her?

Laird Callum McRae was going after the men that are messing with his family and their business, never did he know he would meet a woman who change his world. Mathilda Storm knows the only choice she has is to enter into a loveless marriage to save her sister, so why does meeting Callum make her want more? This story was so enticing and I couldn't put my book down. I loved the push and pull between Mattie and Callum. The twins crac

I really enjoyed this sweet, sexy book. Mathilda is an events planner trying to figure out how to rescue her baby sister from her negative parents. She gets a proposal from her dads business associate. She's only considering it because she wants to raise her sister. It would be a marriage with no love. Callum is a Scottish Laird who has a ton of responsibilities, and raises his brothers as well. Unfortunately he's suing Mathilda's dad. Can they work out a way to be together when there is so much ...more

Wow! This story kept me turning pages, wanting to read it when I could not. Callum was a wonderful man, so protective, honest, committed to family, and willing to learn a new way. Mathilda stole my heart with her resolve to help others, to sacrifice her future for family, and her independence. Together, they had me laughing, crying, and hoping. Their family made them better when together, and I loved the hard working group of them. I look forward to the next book in this series.

This is my first book from this author and it will not be my last. This was a super read I just loved Callum and Mathilda they were super characters. Mathilda has given up on the idea of love and is planning on a marriage of convenience to her dads business partner so that she can get her sister away from her family and that's when she meets Callum the chemistry between them is immediate but if she chooses him her father won't let her take her sister.
