”Sometimes I wonder…why not us, Aiden?”

Good on Paper was the first Jennifer Millikin’s book I’ve read and I absolutely LOVED the story. Natalie and Aiden had been best friends since high school but that was also the only thing they were. Throughout the following decade, they had never been more than friends. Natalie was a helpless romantic, always having faith in the concept of true love; little did she know that she’d miserably fail her first

Ugh, this book is a mess I so don't want to wade into.

But since I did waste a Saturday on this, I'll put my two cents in. 65% into the book, if the characters that are to fall in love don't show even the inkling of attraction, then you already gone done wrong. Then the book did exactly what I predicted it would: they fell in love in 8% and spent the rest dealing with some shitty last moment plot twist that the author probably came up with before her morning coffee.

Aidan and Natalie have been best friends their whole lives. They've been there for each other through everything, and that everything includes her new divorce. Then one night, the line separating friendship and more is crossed. But it isn't necessarily the start of something great because Aidan doesn't believe in love and he's got a huge secret. Can best friends truly morph into more and make it work?

Hm I was torn on this one. On one hand, I enjoyed that this wasn't all fairy tales and prince ch

Friends to lovers is a favorite trope of mine, and when I read the description for Good on Paper, I knew I had to check it out. I was so pleased to find a solid story and relatable characters. Aiden and Natalie have been best friends since high school and know everything there is to know about each other. Well, almost everything. They've been by each other's side throughout all the highs an

Good on Paper is a standalone, friends to lovers romance by Jennifer Millikin.
Meet Natalie Shay. She's a 28 year old woman who likes to plan out her life. Married to her college sweetheart - check; divorced and trying to move on alone - umm not so much.
Aidan Costa is a single guy, works as teacher in NYC, has two roommates annnd is Natalie's best friend since forever.

This is a new to me author and I'm so glad I found her! Good on Paper is just the book I needed to read right now, it filled my gooey center up with all the love. Aiden Costa and Natalie Maxwell are best friends from high school until young adulthood where the story takes place. I wish I had an Aiden. I laughed my head off at the prolog which sets up the beginning of their friendship. Being in the head of a normal teenaged boy with a crush on the popular girl is priceless!

Good On Paper is an enjoyable friends to lovers romance with just enough angst to keep you hooked for how their story plays out. Best friends since high school, Aidan and Natalie have seen each other through all of their big life moments and through it all have been there for each other. When life hits them both with some big changes their story really gets going.

This was the first read by this author for me and I wasn’t sure what to expect. The writing style was one that was easy to follow alo
This was a pretty good read. Natalie and Aidan are friends. They have been for a long time at this point in the book. Natalie just got divorced and she is having a hard time. It's not something she was expecting to happen. She starts to have feelings for Aidan. However, he has a problem with commitment. Of course there is some drama but in the end it all works out.

Of all the books of Jennifer Millikin that I've read, this is probably the lightest. I've read two other books of the author which squeezed my heart dry. This one, started out sad but there were a lot of funny and sweet moments along the way. And true enough, Aidan is the epitome of a male best friend. He would do anything for Nat. Everything. I ended up wishing Aidan were mine.

Aidan Costa was the son of a romance novelist; Natalie Maxwell was the daughter of a preacher. Two teens that carry mythological expectations because of their parents (a romance novelists son would be the most romantic boyfriend and a preacher’s daughter would be the good girl,) but nothing is like it seems.

Years later, newly divorced Natalie is still reeling from the demise of her marriage, but, fortunately, she still had Aidan’s friendship. The two still share their witty banter, comforting g

Good on Paper is the first novel I've read by Jennifer Millikin. I'm always a bit nervous when I read a new author, as I'm never certain I'll connect with the author's style or story. From the outset of her novel, I knew I'd connect with Millikin. Good on Paper is a friends-to-lovers tale. It follows the story of Aidan and Natalie, two people who meet in high school and become best friends. From the outset, Aidan is attracted to Natalie; however, he makes a decision early in life to forgo relati ...more

Two best friends, Natalie and Aidan, who have been there for each other through thick and thin, find themselves where they never thought they would, but then it comes crashing down. Best friends since high school, Nat has seen Aidan go from woman to woman, never committing to any of them. Aidan has seen Nat marry her college sweetheart and her divorce from the same guy. No matter what he is doing, or who he is with, he will drop everything to help her.

Natalie wants a full on fairy tale for her life, Aidan doesn’t do love. Together they are the perfect mismatched pair. Friends since childhood, they’ve seen each other through many ups and downs in life. Natalie just signed divorce papers with her college sweetheart, one of Aidan’s old roommates, and now she must move on with her sad little life. She enjoys writing and keeps sending manuscripts out into the world only to have her heart broken each time she gets rejected.

Every time life has let her down, a boy has broke her heart, or things just haven't went well in general Natalie Shay has always had one bright spot in her life, her best friend Aidan Costa. From the day they met they knew their friendship would be one that would last forever, it was an easy and undeniable connection right from the start. Aidan and Natalie have been best friends since high school. Her family is broken, and he comes from a family that has literally had a romance written about them. She has always been desperate to find that perfect romance that had eluded her parents. He lived his life having only casual flings, unwilling to put his heart on the line. After her divorce, Aidan is there for her like he always is. The two start to question their platonic relationship after Natalie has too much to drink one night and ...more

“I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.”

Good On Paper pens out a love story between best friends, a divorcee and a man with commitment issues haunted by his past. I like the plot so far. The characters have been introduced properly and significantly with a backdrop to their past issues, a reflection of their feelings.

Twenty eight year old Natalie Shay is facing a divorce & that's not how she imagines her life to be. But she has Aiden Costa, her BFF to help her get back on her feet. This is an enjoyable friends-to-lovers romance.

It was refreshing to read a friends-to-lovers romance where both are pretty much right in the friend zone. Aidan is harboring a secret that makes him leary of romance and of putting his heart on the line, but he hooks up with a new gal every weekend. Natalie keeps him squarely in

I know I say it all the time, but I am a sucker for friends to lovers stories. Good on Paper involves Natalie and Aidan who have been best friends since high school. As the story opens, Natalie has just signed her divorce papers and is finally free. However, She ans Aidan have always had a rule that they wouldn't cross that friendship line.

If you are a fan of slow burn romance stories, then you will probably like this one. Fir me, it was almost a little too slow. I like a bit more heat in my slo

This is a really sweet best friends to lovers romance with terrific characters. The author gave us wonderfully developed characters, a little mystery and a few heart stopping moments. The story drew me in from the beginning without a lot of fanfare and kept me interested in these characters and their love story. A slow build but when our couple got there it was magnificent. Good feels! There was already so much love between Nat and Aidan that the progression to romantic love was beautiful. I did ...more

This is a very sweet friends to lovers romance featuring Natalie and Aidan. They have been best friends since high school. Natalie married someone else despite Aidan's dislike of the guy and finds herself divorced four years later. Aidan has never committed to anyone because of a secret that he's kept since childhood. Sparks start to fly when Natalie has a bad date, gets drunk, and asks Aidan a question that breaks their friendship rules.

Jennifer Milkin has a way with romance that makes it seem so easy yet unreal. We have Aidan who was raised by real romance come to life yet skeptical about it. Faced with lies about love he doesn't know for sure how he feels for Natalie. Friendship is important to him and losing Natalie for love is not an option. I loved how Jennifer created this friendship amd the possibility of something more for them. There were times when I wanted to hit Aidan for being stupid yet in a way it all makes sense ...more

Even knowing that this would turn out to be a friends-to-lovers romance didn't prepare me for the emotional rollercoaster of this story! It was just so well written and there's never a moment of doubt that Aiden and Natalie are exactly what they say they are - livelong best friends. Until they themselves start to question what if and see each other differently.
There are a few moments of pure angsty emotional torture - and I mean that in the very best way possible. These characters feel real, and

Every book from Jennifer is a crazy, emotional and fabulous ride that hooks you from the beginning and doesn't let go, or maybe you don't want it to. Natalie's relationship with Aiden has been a tight friendship for years that eventually changes into something way more. Of course like life, it doesn't go as smoothly as we and they would like but that's the part where we truly relate to the characters. Each high and each low is something we've personally gone through or at least known someone who ...more

Loved the book. As usual, a very realistic feel to Millikin's stories. Not the typical romance, but I enjoyed watching Natalie and Aidan experience loss and love together. Even without steaminess, this book was very satisfying.

Natalie and Aidan were childhood friends who have beat the odds and are successful in their opposite gender friendship. As Natalie navigates her divorce and Aidan navigates through his casual relationships, we see them both slowly admit to their feelings. When they finall

Good on Paper is the first book I have read by Jennifer Millikin and it will not be the last. The storyline was engaging and kept my interest as well as the adventures, the drama, twists, mistakes and emotional turmoil created tension for the couple. The strength and courage of Aidan and Natalie were both strong characters and that made for a well balanced couple.
