Eight Steps: A Friends to Lovers Romance by Taylor Sullivan is a fun read, with lots of laughs along the way, as I followed this lighthearted and enjoyable read.
Elliot Prescott is a nice guy, a real lovable nerd, who is tired of not getting female attention. He works out, has a great job, he’s nice, reliable, looks after himself, and well presented- so he just can’t figure out why he can never ‘get the girl’. Elliot has a certain woman he’d like to catch the attention of, and has a mont

Eight Steps is a deliciously intense love story by Taylor Sullivan. A story that just left me breathless and desperate for more. As far as friends to lovers romances go, this was one of the best I have read. So riveting was these words, I read it in one go. These characters were so endearing,  so charismatic, it was hard to put their story down.

Elliott and Fe were best friends. Dorky Elliott was thrust into Fe's hands to give him a new look. The almost non existent flame of arousal, passion and

Eight Steps by Taylor Sullivan is my first book that I have read by Taylor Sullivan and I was not disappointed. Eight steps is a friendship that turns into a love story between two friends Elliot and Fe Porto. Elliot and Fe have been friends and roommates for years . Fe only has a few weeks to turn Elliot into this hot macho guy and has these eight steps for him to follow to make him this way. Along this journey they learn more about each other and fall into love. This book will keep you hooked ...more

What can I say?

Having been a technical writer/proofreader for many years, I am always conscious of FLOW when I read things. Certainly this story deserves 5 stars, but OMG the proofing needs some serious help. Incorrect words in places, misspellings, and grammar slowed me down incessantly. I was constantly reading, stopping, saying to myself "wait, what did I just read?" & have to backup & read slowly until I could figure out what the author was trying to convey. I can't stop myself from proofing

This is a fast paced New Adult story that I couldn’t put down until the end, I was pulled in from the beginning. The story was easy flowing and engaging. The characters are both lovable and relatable. They made me laugh and they are best friends. I enjoyed this story plot, Fe and Elliot have only a month to turn him into hot, sexy alpha like we read in books. Is it possible? Could fate have other plans for them? I highly recommend you read this book to find out!

I wanted to like this book, I mean look at that cover, but it fell flat in a number of spots. I don't really want to read about some chick sitting on a toilet, for one. Also, the editing is rough, like first draft rough.
That said, the premise is good and there are some entertaining scenes that saved the story for me.
Another few passes before publishing could have made this a must read!

I would have given this book three stars. It's a run-of-the-mill friends to lovers story with a likeable hero and a horribly needy and insecure heroine that I wanted to slap at least once every chapter. What dragged the story down to two stars was the lack of editing. The author has a horrible problem with her homonyms. I can overlook the occasional "there" for "their" or "your" for "you're", but every chapter had at least two errors. The heroine had her heel on the wrung of her bar stool. The h ...more

Eight Steps by Taylor Sullivan a five-star read that will help you get your nerd on. This is the first novel in the Nerdy by Nature series and the next needs to be here. This should come with a warning, do not drink while reading as you are likely to spit it out, I laughed so hard I wore my drink. I got my copy after the re-edit and it was great, it showed us how bad editing can ruin a great book after reading some of the other earlier reviews. I knew I wanted to read this as I adored another bo ...more

I'm usually a big fan or Taylor's books, but I just did not connect with this one. I found it more frustrating than enjoyable. There were multiple misplaced words that detracted from the story as well.

Eight Steps to Alpha by Taylor Sullivan had all the promise of a cute little rom-com, but it fell flat as it relied on sexist themes. I really wanted to enjoy this book that is a slow born, friends to lovers. But the premise of making the nice guy into a misogynistic meany to get a girl, seemed rather backwards. I liked Elliot before the transformation and his relationship to Fe. I thought he was a great guy and don’t know why he had such a ‘woe is me’ mentality, because he couldn’t get one girl ...more

A romantic comedy for the win! Eight Steps to Alpha is A Friends to Lovers Romance by Taylor Sullivan. This book was so cute I couldn’t put it down! Fe (the element for iron) is a science teacher’s assistant. Elliot is her roommate of 4 years and best friend of 5 years. There has never been any romantic chemistry between them. That is…until now. Elliot is enamored by a co-worker, Mary and want to get her to notice him. Fe devises a plan so that in 8 simple steps, Mary will be putty at his feet. ...more

Eight Steps: A friend to lovers romance by Taylor Sullivan

This is my second read by this author and in this case, the second time is the charm, I just finished my reread of this book. The first time I read it I had so much going on I could not give it the attention it deserved so had to give it another try. Eight Steps: A friend to lovers romance by Taylor Sullivan is an easy fun, sweet, sexy story that is entertaining from start to finish. It is a friends to lovers story that will have you laughing along the way at their banter and friendship. Taylor has written characters that are charming and funny, quirky and witty, lovable and sexy whilst a little nerdy on the side. It is a highly entertaining journey on the road to change, discovery and love.

By Taylor Sullivan
Rated 5 stars

A new favorite! This is such an enjoyable story. Elliott and Fe have been roomies for five years. They are both nerdy in their own way. Fe is a book worm. Elliott is a classic gamer. They work well together but Elliott has found a woman he is interested in. The problem is she doesn’t notice he is alive. Fe decided to help him and make him a man women can’t help but notice. These characters made me laugh more than once. Their ant

Eight Steps to Alpha was a fun 4 star read.
This is a good friends to lovers romance.

Elli wants a certain someone to notice him, so he asks his best friend Fe to help him. He wants to be just like the men in the books Fe reads, an alpha. They have a month to get him ready, will they be successful? Can he get the girl he wants?

I’m tired of being the nice guy. I want to be that guy. The guy they have fantasies about. Just once. Elli

Eight Steps is a quirky, funny friends to lovers story which definitely deserves 5 stars in my opinion. This book had me hooked from the very beginning and I laughed so much when reading it.
Best friends and room-mates Elliot Prescott and Fe Porto are both super nerdy and have a friendship that everyone would be jealous of. When Elliot confesses that he likes a woman at work who doesn’t notice him, Fe comes up with a plan to turn him into a hot alpha male in 4 weeks – An eight step plan.

Eight Steps: A friend to lovers romance is a sweet story. There were times that I wanted to strangle both Elliot and Fe, but then that is part of life; we all make colossal relationship blunders at some point. Maybe I loved this story a bit more than most of the contemporary romance novels I’ve read because Elliot reminds me a lot of my husband, especially the whole glasses-to-contacts thing. That literally was the first thing that made me notice the man I eventually married.

I loved the way the

Eight Steps is a excellent friends to Lovers romance read, that’s captivating and brilliant from the start. It’s fast paced and easy flowing and has you hooked. Taylor Sullivan is a new author for me, and boy has she given me even more reasons to read more of her books and what else is to come to this series.
She has created a brilliant plot line that could really be a real and relatable thing, she has created lovable and relatable characters in Fe & Elliot, to where you would like to see more o

As mentioned in the title - EIGHT STEPS: A FRIEND TO LOVERS ROMANCE, this is the story of a two besties/roomies who enter into an agreement to make the H into an alpha male to "get the girl of his dreams". Elliot and Fe follow EIGHT STEPS to get him to be a man to be desired. This is a cute story that moves rather quickly as they only have four weeks to do this make-over. The good news is that Elliot was already halfway there because he is a "hot nerd" and not an "awkward nerd". If there is a mo ...more

“Eight Steps” by Taylor Sullivan is a lovely book about two roommates, Elliott and Fe. They have been best friends and roommates for five years and one fateful night will change their friendship forever. Eight Steps was a fun and entertaining read that I really enjoyed. I have read a couple of books by this author now and I always find her writing really easy to read and my attention is always held from beginning to end.

Eight Steps: A friends to Lovers Romance by Taylor Sullivan. This is the first book I've read by Taylor Sullivan but it will not be my last. It was such a fun story about Elliot Prescott and Fe Porto. They have been best friends for 5 years but Fe is just like one of the boys, nerdy and goofy. Eight Steps by Taylor Sullivan is not a difficult book to predict. You know how it's going to end (that’s one reason why I picked it) but that doesn't ruin the joy of the journey. It's books like this that make me remember why the romance genre is much needed in my world. I love to sit back and escape my life for a little while and this book helped me accomplish that easily. Love Elliot and Fe! Elliot the nerd is about to be tranformed into an Alpha by his roommate Fe. The two have known each other for 5 years since college. A friends to lovers story that was so good as each main character are so likeable. EIGHT STEPS by TAYLOR SULLIVAN

Five Stars

Eight steps to help you find out who is right for you. I found it funny that they didn’t realize what was happening. Eli needs a confidence boost. The details from the author had me imagining a very hot guy. I love how Eli described Fe. The things we do to try and get what we think we need. The author made the story both humorous and serious. The easy going Elliot and the not as easy going Fe are best friends and roommates and everything was great until one night and them having too much to drink.
