To Catch a Witch and a Witch to Remember completed the arc I always had in mind, and I've turned down an offer to write more Wish books. Dollycas’s Thoughts

Wedding bells will soon be ringing for wishcrafter Darcy Merriweather and Police Chief Nick Sawyer and almost everyone in the Enchanted Village is excited about it. Someone set fire to the Divinitea Cottage Tea Room minutes before Darcy arrived for her bridal luncheon. Sadly, the owner Leyna Noble did not make it out alive, but it wasn’t the smoke or fire that did her in. She was strangled!

Darcy’s prime suspect is Dorothy Hansel Dewitt, a truly wicked witch and fire is her

A Witch to Remember by Heather Blake is the final book in the Wishcraft series. It was a bittersweet end to this favorite series for me. All the subplots were wrapped up, Darcy and Nick were married and my favorite character that I loved to hate got what they deserved. I will miss this series but I was very pleased with this twisted and complex story.

This series stared as a village with some magic but has become more and more magic with familiars, spells and lots of danger. The wish granting witch and the police chief are finally getting married. This book would be better for someone who is into magic or enjoys reading about witchcraft and spells.

The ultimate good vs evil is the theme wound throughout the storyline of this installment of the Wishcraft Mystery series. Wonderful things are on the horizon, but evil is lurking to tear it all apart. The gang must work together to overcome and have a future. Excellent character development has you invested in the outcome and the well thought out plot will have you flipping pages to figure out the intrigue!
I’m not sure if this is the last book in the series, but it feels like it could be. So many things were exposed, so many things tied up and we were left with a very happy ending for Darcy and Nick. I liked how things changed with the Elder and the Witch Council, I think things are for the better there. I’m happy that one person who was a pain in the ass for the community is no longer around to cause trouble. I’m also very happy with how a couple characters have changed for the better. But the ...more

I honestly do not have much to say about this book. I just don't think it is the type of book I am interested in. It was very well written, so I didn't dislike it. I just didn't love it.

The Enchanted Village always has a touch of magic about it, but the buzz of excitement over the wedding between wish-granting witch Darcy and Police Chief Nick Sawyer is positively electric. With every spellbinding detail planned to perfection all that’s left is to sit back and let wishes come true. But Darcy’s dream wedding is threatened when the Divinitea Cottage, the tea room hosting her bridal luncheon, goes up in flames, revealing the strangled body of the owner, Leyna Noble.

This is the last installment in this series, and it was a 3.5/3.75 for me, but for review purposes I bumped it up to a 4 SOLELY for the last few paragraphs with the familiars. I'm angry at myself for not catching on earlier in the book the name similarities and true identity of the mysterious Hildie, who appears to Darcy early on in the story to give her a magical talisman. Side note, a name I wish would make a come back. As far as the mystery went, it was predictable. The murderer was pretty ...more

This has to be one of my all-time favorite cozy mystery series. I have spent many hours happily devouring each new book in the series as it was released. This one, I put off reading for a bit because I knew it would be the last time I would be visiting Darcy, Nick, Mimi, Archie, Ve, Harper and the rest of the residents of the Enchanted Village as this is the final book in the series. I borrowed this book from the library and started reading it with a bit of sadness. However, once again, Heather ...more

I am so sad to see this series end. I will say that the author did a great job of tying everything up. I even found myself getting choked up on a few spots. This is the first time that I have actually did a good job of actually suspecting the right person of course it was one of three that I thought it might be. All of my favorite characters including Pepe and Mrs. P were present and a few I do not care for, but were necessary for the story. This series has been a source of enjoyment.

This book is all about secrets. It seems everyone has them in this story. Darcy Merriweather is getting married, Harper is having a very important birthday and their mother has a big event too. Of course there is a death with a very obvious suspect but Darcy isn't sure the suspect is the correct one so she continues asking questions. The book was a quick easy read.

I was so happy to see Darcy and Nick finally getting married and starting a family. I truly hope this isn't the last book for this series. There are so many more adventures for them.

I loved this book! I enjoy when an author plans out a book series and Heather Blake definitely took the time to do that with this series. If this is your first look at these books, I recommend starting with book 1 and reading them in order. This book is about the upcoming wedding of Darcy & Nick and the Elder Renewal ceremony. There is a murder in the Enchanted Village right before Darcy's bridal shower and Nick, Darcy, and Glinda are on the case. I was sad to finish this series, but I loved ...more

I wasn't crazy about the last book in this series but I decided to give it another try.

It was okay. The first half was very boring. I realize there has to be some introduction but it wasn't holding my interest at all. The last quarter was better and wrapped up nicely.

With two books in a row I'm not crazy about I don't think I will continue to read this series.

I love this series. I primarily have paranormal and mystery books on Mt Git'r'Read and the WWBL and this is a combo of the two. Some series get stale the farther in the books go in number. This is book 9 and I honestly think it could go on for quite some time, fresh and fun, but it has the feel of end of series to me. If so, it's ending on a high note as all series should.

Darcy Merriweather is Stressed Out. Not about her wedding coming up in a couple of weeks. No, she's a bundle of nerves over her younger sister's birthday and what it means for the Elder's renewal ceremony. Her family's nemesis, Dorothy, has become increasingly, dangerously unstable in recent months, and Darcy fears for their safety, especially after the Divinitea Cottage is torched, and it initially appears as though Dorothy set the fire after murdering one of the owners. This ninth episode of life in an "Enchanted Village" in Massachusetts has been long awaited by myself and other fans of the 'A Wishcraft Mystery' series. There are so many reasons why this series became a favorite of mine, but, the main one is the excellent character casting done by Ms. Blake.

The main characters are two sisters, Darcy and Harper. Their Aunt, Ve begins the circle of relatives and friends, and yes, familiars that surround the girls. The girls have a legacy that they are able to

Darci Merriweather and the inhabitants of The Enchanted Village come together one final time as Darcy and Nick head to the alter. Though when the ladies host a bridal luncheon for Darcy, things go up in flames as the tea house is burned to the ground and one of the owners is found dead in the ashes. Things look like Dorothy is responsible as it has her signature all over it, but Darcy isn’t so sure. Even though Dorothy wants to take Darcy and her family down, Darcy just can’t let an innocent ...more

This is one for the family of readers of Heather Blake’s witchy series that will complete some questions and concerns. Please don’t let it be our last!
Darcy has a head full of stress with her upcoming wedding, the Elder’s Renewal or whatever else may happen with that, and on top of everything else…murder. Dorothy, Darcy’s nemesis, is more dangerous and crazier than ever, but so much that she committed murder? Harper has a decision to make, whether she knows about it or not. Vince, half-brother

Darcy is marrying her love Nick ...soon. First she has to weather the renewal of the Elder, her mom.
Harper is pregnant. A fire makes Darcy's bridal shower impossible and one of the tea shop owners, Leyna, is found murdered.
The culprit behind the murder and poisonings that happen as part of the story has a twisted world view.
The renewal of the Elder has a huge amount of drama and danger as Dorothy is committed to have the line of elder move from its current lineage.
The wedding is a sweet ending

This 9th installment of Heather Blake’s Wishcraft Mysteries is a fitting and lovely way to end the series. Darcy & Nick finally tie the knot, Harper’s future becomes more clear, and the fate of the Elder and the Coven is decided. Of course there’s a mystery or two to settle along the way, and it’s a pretty interesting one at that. There are a few character surprises as well. My only issue with this book (besides the fact that it’s the last one), is that it meanders a bit too much. Many if ...more

The wedding of Darcy and Nick approaches. But Darcy is distracted by thoughts of the upcoming Renewal Ceremony for the Elder and she is NOT permitted to discuss this with her sister, Harper. Will Harper be willing to take the oath? In the meantime, Amanda and Leyna have opened Divinitea. Dorothy Hansel Dewitt is acting even stranger than usual, threatening everyone and with the upcoming Renewal Darcy is taking the threats seriously. When Divinitea catches fire and they discover Leyna was ...more

If I could give this 12 stars, I would. This is one of those series where this book was the perfect ending to the series. I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes because I don't want this series to be over. I have loved this series for the last 4+years, and not-so-patiently waited for each additional book to come out. I was absolutely distraught that the series was discontinued by Berkley during their culling of the cozies, and so elated when the series found a new publisher. This book was ...more

The “Who done it” was as good as always. But the magical portion lacked, well... magic!! The plot twist was given away within the first 20 pages. I mean, really?!? I’ve loved this series for its light hearted combination of crime and magic. This book felt like a child who can’t keep a secret but the adults are forced to act surprised each time they hear the secret. Argh! It’s tiresome to predict what’s going to happen at the cliffhanger. Bummer.
Side note: Adored the dress fitting scene. If only
This was a wonderful addition to the Wishcraft series. Darcy has a lot of secrets she's trying to keep when a fire occurs at the tea shop where her pre-wedding brunch with friends was going to occur. When the murdered body of one of the owners is found, she's drawn into the case since magic was used. Can Darcy keep her secrets and solve the mystery before it's too late? The book was well-written with well-rounded characters. Heather's Blake's Enchanted Village is a great place to escape to and I ...more

I am so sad to see this series end. That said, what a wonderful way to end! This was another great read from Heather Blake. The story was intriguing and kept me guessing. Appearances were made by all the regular characters and all of the loose ends were wrapped up. The series ends on a "happily ever after" note that should leave series readers satisfied. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someday she will resurrect the series and give us more, but for now I am happy knowing these characters are ...more

Great wrap up to this fun paranormal mystery series. The mystery in this one was stellar! It was perfectly twisty. The characters, as always, are a delight. I thoroughly enjoyed a newcomer who played a major role in how things worked out. The emphasis on *secrets* got a little old after awhile because it was there a lot - Darcy didn't want to see a psychic because of secrets, she couldn't answer questions because of secrets, she was stressed about secrets, etc. But when all was revealed in the ...more
