Strong feelings on this one. I really liked the writing style and the characters but I was also left with a strong sense of confusion and dissatisfaction at the same time. So... I might up the rating to four stars later, I don't even know. My feelings are strong but very mixed.

I'm gonna have to start with the premise this time bc that summary is...not exactly inaccurate but to me at least quite misleading. So, I guess it'll be spoilers from here on in. Not big spoilers (I'm really just correctin

I got this from NetGalley. Listener's Remains by L. Julia was perfect psychological thriller which also made me laughted so hard. Twisted is good word in this book and well it was so beatifully twisted that I haven't words to say more. This is one of the books, which I read in one night because every time when I try stop, I needed read more chapters or more pages, so it was better stay up until I finish it. Good thing was that I read this book in my Chrismas holiday so it doesn't matter that I w ...more

Well, this was quite the ride! It was everything I was hoping it would be, and a whole lot more.
The story was so unique and interesting that I never wanted it to end, even though I absolutely did want to see how things turned out in that end.
Although this was published by Nine Star Press, this is NOT a MM romance or is it anything close to one. The blurb is a bit deceiving in that respect I have to admit. Only one of the characters was presented as gay and although one of the other characters i

Eduardo was a Oyente, and to avenge his deception, literally comes to live in Gillens mind, able to to read his thoughts. Able to expose Gillen's past, and his secret, that could destroy Gillen carefully planned future. Gillan m

Listener’s Remains is an intriguing psychological thriller. L. Julian wrote a book I couldn’t put down. Stayed up until two in the morning just to find out how it would end. The plot involves the murder of Eduardo Sanchez, a mind reader. The ramifications of murdering a mind reader are unexpected and fascinating. If I ever decide to murder anyone, I will make sure that he is not a mind reader. The plot twist are completely unexpected and fascinating. L. Julia has a wild imagination.

A quick thriller with a paranormal twist, Listener's Remains is unique and very readable, which I mean in a positive way. A significant amount of the story unfolds through dialogue, but it doesn't become stale, and suspense about how things might play out drove me to read on. Only one of my theories eventually came to pass, revealed just in the epilogue. The book has some issues with internal consistency and clarifying motivations, and the two most significant women characters are not well done; ...more

Recieved from Netgalley. That was perfect, I laughed so hard at the end. Beautifully twisted and an out there mind bleep. The blurb didn’t give much away so I had no idea to expect so much. Apart from Therese, I couldn’t bring myself to hate any of the main characters. Would happily read a sequel.
