This story is actually based on a beautiful song that invites children to carry out daily tasks, with joy and good humor from early in the morning. Beautiful illustrations and a brief explanation of the origin of this song that is danced around a very special tree.
Istorio hau, hain zuzen, abesti eder batean oinarritzen da, haurrak eguneroko lanak egitera gonbidatzen dituena, goizetik alaitasunez eta umore onez. Ilustrazio ederrak eta zuhaitz oso berezi baten inguruan dantzatzen den abesti honen jatorriaren azalpen laburra.
1. n/a 2. K-1st grade 3. This book is the classic nursery rhyme "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush". It shows different activities that people from all different cultures take place in everyday. It also shows readers how to say good-bye in different languages. 4. This book does a good job showing different cultures. The illustrations were eye capturing, and of course since it is a nursery rhyme book the lyrics are catchy. 5. I could use this book in the class to teach multiculturally, to show that even though people may come from different places we are still all people that do the same things.

This is a funbook exploring the Mulberry Bush song. It is excellent as far as diversity goes as the art portrays four cultures engaging in tge action of each verse. It includes a CD that can used for interaction leatning. Excelkent for teachers.
Illustrations: Depictions of four children of different ethnicities and cultures performing the actions in the song in unique ways. All the children are drawn with the same shape of head and body, with different coloring and hair to avoid stereotyping physicality.
Personal Response: I enjoyed the way the illustrations in this book point out similarities and differences that exist among and between different cultures without seeming to preference one above another.
Curriculum: This story could be used in a lesson or story time that focuses on peoples differences and how they don't make a person better or worse than a different person.
Nicely illustrated showing 4 children from Europe (could be US), Mali, India and China going through their daily routines to the tune of "Hear we go round the mulberry bush". Has translations of "good-bye" in all four languages, written music, information about the song origins and a sing-a-long CD. Sing-a-long books are a big hit with my 4 yr old, so I think we'll probably revisit this one.
Cute little story that shows children from four different countries following their morning routine. My two year old enjoyed it because the repetition made it easy for him to join in.
This is a great multicultural book for children. It talks about the different ways of life in four different countries: Europe, Mali, India, and China.
