Gifted with the uncanny ability to sense when and where a natural disaster is imminent, Stieg Atwood, along with his brother Adam, uses his powers to save others from the tornadoes and other catastrophes that cost their parents' lives. Original.
David Levithan (born 1972) is an American children's book editor and award-winning author. He published his first YA book, Boy Meets Boy, in 2003. Levithan is also the founding editor of PUSH, a Young Adult imprint of Scholastic Press.
I'm putting 'liked it' because I'm taking it for what it is - a 90s Scholastic children's paperback series book. I didn't expect anything out of it. I read this just to see what David Levithan was like before he was writing novels.
The idea was pretty unique for such a throw-away book. Some of the amateurish writing was a little silly: "The cloud walls churned, yet were somehow smooth. Like if you touched them, they'd be smooth." Oh dear.
I think this book was very good. It had exhilarating, face-paced moments, and slower moments following. Though I'm not the biggest fan of books about natural disasters I still really enjoyed this book.
