Book 1 in the Myth Protector Series
As they fight a war of good and evil in our world, the Fairy Tales need a protector.

All I wanted to do was take a break from college to check out LegendFest, some good ol' cosplay, and maybe find a lady to hit it off with. You never know, right?

My life took a new direction, though, when I found out myths like Red Riding Hood are re

I know this is a Gamelit Harem Fantasy adventure, and going into it I know not to expect greatness, but sometimes it seems like author's are just going through the motions with telling the story. I wasn't a huge fan of this book. I didn't really like the fairy tale creature aspect. The myths were completely different from what I knew, also there were too many of them. There was some from Disney, the Brothers Grimm, and everything in between, but there wasn't much background into the

Could not get into it.

The writing is just off, I've read fanfic with more thought and structure then the first few chapters of this book. Seems like a rush of ideas that didn't have time to really coallese in a proper story. Nothing grabs you and there are several moments where I questioned what the hell was going on. Couldnt get past the first couple chapters would not recommend.

MC progresses too fast. Harem story with the typical problem that there are sex scenes scattered through the book but there misses the connection to the story somehow.
Myth Protector - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Jack and pal Chris go to Anaheim Conference Centre to LegendFest, where Jack enjoys encounters with a variety of sexy versions of Disney Princesses, while Chris tries his luck with more 'earthy' companions, in Jamie Hawkes' latest GameLit Harem adventure.
When Jack is enticed by monetary rewards to take part in a sleep study, little does he know his life will never be the same again!
Is it all a dream, insinuated into his sleeping mind by the drugs he ta

Very enjoyable read.

I enjoyed this book it has a unique twist on the fairytales we all read about as a kid. The MC was fun to read about and was funny at times. Story was fast paced and full of action. Overall a good book to read.

Harem fantasy

Ok, first I am not a prude, but this was penthouse letters quality graphic. It was also definitely porn from a male point of view, a male sex fantasy novel if you will. Lacking real characters with depth, featuring women whose only exhibited 3 dimensional qualities are in the descriptions of the size of their breasts or their asses. If that is what you are looking for, a masturbatory interlude, then this is the book for you. Potential the author could write a broader based book, but

As much as I like great sex scenes I was unable to make it through this storyline it was painful for me

Fast Paced High Action
James is cast into a world where myths are real, kind of. The characters are real, but their actual actions might not actually match the stories about them.

Mythical characters have divided into two factions, the Legends are the enemy, and working in cooperation with the government, purportedly to wipe all Myths from the world. A lot of liberty / freedom taken with who is on each side, as apparently its a choice in large independent of the underlying character traits of the

This is a thought dump, not a review, so there may be spoilers... you've been warned.

So I've read a few of Jaime Hawke's books now and there are three things that are consistent his stories. He uses gamelit to simplify his power systems and make is so that he never has ht o explain anything. He loves writing about sex, but only the male power fantasy kind. Finally, he never really devotes times to character development.

Now there really isn't anything wrong with the first two, I mean when you sim

Good concept

This was a pretty good book. I gotta say, though, there was a LOT of sex. Good on the main character for getting his, but in a lot of places it just seemed forced, almost. Like "where do I go from here? Guess they should have sex!" "Just escaped the law with someone you just met? Handjob in a car!" I for being adventurous and all that, but some of the time it was like the OTHER action was being rushed and details kinda glossed over so they could get to the next sex scene.

This book was painful to get through. Despite the passable writing I couldn't shake the feeling that this book is supposed to be aimed at teens but the sex and harem force it to be for 'Mature Audiences'. I can see a 15 or a 16 year old thinking that the main character and his motivations are cool and relatable but nobody older. The dialogue isn't poorly written as much as it is just annoying. The MC comes off as horny, selfish manchild and I found myself not only not caring weather he surviv

A book like a burger from McDonalds. There are million better burgers out there but it fills the gap.
Young nerd on a nerd convention is selected as "the protector" for myth characters (like Red Ridinghood etc.). Myth is very wide defined - from thor over the seven dwarves to peter pan and Mogli.
There are a lot unmotivated sex scenes (well - it says harem book in the description but I have missed that) and the MC goes from incompetent to fighter in maybe 4 pages. At least the

It was so much fun to read this book. The whole concept was unique with your favorite nursery rhymes, Grimm's fairy tales, Disney movie and or storybook characters come to life and either being good (myth) or bad (legend). Throw in your clueless main character who becomes the protector of the myths, then sit back and let the fun begin!!

The action had me on the edge of my seat. Plus what guy out there wouldn't want to have sex with a Disney Princess? I can not wait for the next book in this serie

So Cheap Harem Fantasy, about a Jock Nerd Fratboy Geek who gets all the girls or something. There are certain parts where I did start to get sucked in but then it would be ruined by over the top cheap dialogue. The same with most books of this type if more of the story was focused on, over cheap humor and describing how sleazy the girls are, then maybe it would be enjoyable.

When you read giving small but pointed descriptors are more powerful than detailed over the top descriptions. Readers tend

Crazy but it Works

I don’t know if the author was on any meds when he thought this concept up, but I bet it would’ve helped. This is some crazy stuff, and all done rapid-fire. Amazingly though, it all works, which is a testament to how well it was written. It’s wild enough where I think it’ll be something people either love or hate. I thought it was delightful. Try it and see. Recommended!

3.5 Stars for me.

This is definitely a book written for guys that fantasize about getting multiple women with no effort or blowback.

If you don't take the story seriously, it is pretty entertaining. I started skipping some of the sex scenes as he was super-human and could bring several women one right after the other to orgasm before having his own. Total fantasy.

Going through all of the fairytale characters was fun.

Fun Read

Jack attends a convention of fantasy and fairy tale driven themes. Along the way, he is tested for his potential to be the Protector of fairy tale characters in their war to keep humanity safe. He isn't sure, but the allure of his sexy teammates overcomes any reservations he has. I like the action, humor, and lust (love?). I look forward to the next book.

Not your mother's fairy tales

A new spin on fairy tales. I'll admit I was worried on how the take fairy tales would go... Needing a protector why would they need protecting is someone after their ******* Is it a harem, yeah most definitely. Is it done tastefully, definitely. If you want a quick read that's good fun then give this a taste.

Fun read

This book is super fast paced. There are a ton of spots that i feel like we are only given a small glimpse of what could be a pretty damn cool world. Hopefully the next book takes some time to give us more info on how the Myths actually live.

Different take on things— fun.

This was an interesting take on fairytales and myths. The characters were interesting and fun to see. I wasn’t sure at first but it caught me as I read and turned int a good fun read.

Decent but rushed

Like the basis but found the flow to be rushed and having gaps. Very detailed scene one moment then a one sentence transition. Over all a fun romp but the author has done better.

Another great storyline

Great storyline, great characters. I can't wait for more in this series. I love his other books and can't wait for more of them to come out. Expecting a third planet kill book to help tie things together. Keep up the great writing.

Not my cup of tea. The protagonist sounds like a 15 year olds only thinks with his little head. I keep trying to force myself to finish it. I just keep getting more and more annoyed at how backwards and childish the protagonist sounds. I don't fault anyone who likes it. Just not for me. ...more

Got 60% through the book before I finally gave up. The narrative felt like a confusing and poorly assembled mashup of ideas and gimmicks which failed to form into a cohesive or engaging story while the characters felt bland and utterly forgettable.

Fun harem romp. It’s a pretty even 50/50 split between porn and story, so if that’s not your gig, move along.
The abstract is pretty clever, hopefully it plays out well in the rest of the series.
