Evan Massie has always been drawn to the water. So when he discovers his ex-boyfriend’s cheating and manipulations, the first safe place that comes to mind is his family’s old cabin on the lake. It’s remote, completely off the grid, and offers Evan the one thing he needs most: solitude.

Except Evan may not be as alone as he thinks. There is something living in the lake, an

While I unabashedly enjoy tentacle stories, most of them don’t end well. It’s rare to find a true connection between the characters which outlasts the sexual thrall instigated by the sea creature. Part fantasy, part erotica, L. Summers’ Love Beneath the Lake is (yay) a deliciously sensual love story.

Manipulated and emotionally abused, Evan seeks the peace of a tranquil lake to help him heal. After five years of his ex’s slut shaming, Evan’s highly erotic dreams reawaken his need for passion and

I looooooovvvvvved this book! One of the best tentacle-romances I have read in a long time, because there were feelings and a connection, it wasn’t noncon (only kinda sorta dubcon) and I loved Evan and Mer together.

I just wish that there had been more - either a nice long epilogue set next spring, or the promise of another story. Very HFN type ending, but I would LOVE to read more with these two! (Like...what DOES happen if Evan has too much of the goop/sap??)

Very good for story from this auth

A Joyfully Jay review.

2.75 stars

This is a tentacle erotica story, and it gets somewhat graphic. It’s a sweet enough little tale with nothing alarming, offensive, or strange — other than, of course, the tentacles. This isn’t a parody or a comedy, it’s just a paranormal romance that happens to involve someone who is more fish than wolf or bat.

Evan is a highly sexual young man who thrives on and thoroughly enjoys sex. However, with his ex-boyfriend, Pierce, he’s often left not only unsatisfied, bu

The tentacles are fun, but Evan was pretty wishy-washy.

3.5 stars.

I wish I had gotten a bit more of a HEA rather than a HFN, but I enjoyed reading it anyways.

I know I’m not in the majority but I love tentacles, just the idea of being able to be touched everywhere all at once, YES! Evan is trying to find his bearings after finding out that his ex had been cheating and using him for years. Mer has lived his life taking care of his lake, at times he has seen others but never felt a connection to someone until Evan stepped into his water.

The author’s writing was easy to r
This was an interesting and sweet diversion from the typical romance. For fans of exceedingly amorous declarations and tentacles, this book is perfect. I happen to really enjoy those things, so Love Beneath the Lake was a treat.

Evan has just been through a bad breakup and his manipulative, cheating, asshole of an ex has put him through an emotional wringer. He escapes to a family cabin on a beautiful lake to regroup and heal. He’s an author of a relationship blog and series of books, so not onl

This is an interesting story and quite an easy read. The author has a writing style that is approachable but quite simplistic. The story is written in the third person and yet the point of view is of the central character. This leaves the reader distanced from this character and even worse makes interactions with other characters quite hollow. Both characterisation and world building are well developed throughout the story. Time is spent to provide a description of location and context. The cent ...more

I love a good tentacle book and there isn’t nearly enough of them. After Evan walks in on his boyfriend with another man, who he is telling him how he uses Evan and that Evan is basically useless. Evan runs to only place he feels safe, the cabin by the lake that his family owns. Slowly Evan meets and falls in love with a beautiful creature he names Mer. Mer gives Evan what he so desparely needs and that is love. And lots of really hot sex. I would have liked more, especially seen after the winte ...more

Sweet and slimy. Perfect

Wow super sweet and loved it. So happy for their ending. I was immediately in love with Mer. Very interesting creature. Forget Pierce he was a douchenozzle. I am glad Evan got away.

I was expecting a badly written pornlike book, like most of the books in this genre are. Boy, was I wrong!
I'd say it's the best book I've read in this genre!
