Pride and Pregnancy

Rate this book
An MM Mpreg Romance.

Wedding planner Eliot can't help but believe that every wedding he creates will end in true love, even though statistics are against him. That's what keeps him going—through the bridezillas, missing caterers, and difficult wedding parties.

Darcy doesn't believe in true love. He hardly believes in friendship. He sees weddings as a waste of time and energy, and has no problem saying so... right in front of a Eliot at a wedding he planned.

That should have been their one and only meeting... but Eliot's sister and Darcy's best friend are falling each other, throwing the two against each other over and over, until simmering passions bubble over into one hot, unexpected night, ending in an unexpected pregnancy.

Eliot doesn’t want to tell Darcy... but he can't hide it either. How can he reconcile his desire to never see Darcy again with his moral responsibility toward his unborn child?

Pride and Pregnancy is an MPREG Pride and Prejudice retelling. Be prepared for family shenanigans, strange wedding customs, and hot, adult scenes you won’t find in the original! 18+ readers only, please! (I don’t want your mom coming after me!)

Only one thing is clear, after reading this book, some authors should never try to "copy" the plot of books written centuries ago and give them a modern "face".

This book started well, but then my rating went down and down and I actually gave 2 stars only bcs there was no rape and no cheating. There were too many misunderstandings, the MCs didn't talk and these issues dragged for months, yes not days or weeks, but fuc*ing months, in which they didn't talk, or message, and didn't see each other. At this point, for me, the book had lost the romance that the author had tried to put in at the beginning. Then there was the drama born from another misunderstanding and again their decision was to avoid each other for more months and not talk like normal, adult, and civilized people. Then there was the drama used to put them together, and since the author didn't know anymore who to use to fuel this drama, she decided that the right char should be one she had already used in the past. George. Yes the dude that knocked up Darcy's sister in the past and tried to blackmail her for money, George the same guy that slept with Eliott's brother, Liam(the slu* I must say, so maybe in this case there was not real angst since the omega didn't give a fu* about the alpha but only had fun), and then this George is the same one we see having sex in a dark alley with a nameless girl(dunno why we needed that scene) and then he is the one that Eliott's younger sister, Kitty, falls in love with and tries to get married to, in Vegas. He sure had a busy life!!!!

I just want to say to the author that there would be no bill to pay in adding one or two more secondary characters to a story and avoiding this repetitive and absurd shi*. The only thing I couldn't stop thinking was, are all these omegas really this stupid? Does George have a gold dic*?

The story coulnd't be worst, well maybe it could have been if the author had added rape or cheat, well scratch that there was plenty of cheating btw the couples for which Eliott planned a wedding, and isn't that nice? WTF. I also wasn't a fan of the fact that the author decided to make Darcy's mother, be cheated on her wedding day, wasn't enough that the poor woman(yes she was a bitc* when planning her wedding), had been cheated by Darcy's father already? but now the author thought is was a good idea to put more angst, after the rescuing of Kitty in Vegas, using this woman. Just terrible.

If someone doesn't know how to end a book, just don't write the first thing that comes to mind.

The epilogue was romantic, but at that point I just wanted to finish the book and didn't give a cr*p anymore to what happened, not even the cute baby could save it for me. The characters were just too stupid and flat. And is a shame bcs the idea had potential.

I'm so pissed, I thought this book would be good, I really wished it was. I don't know if I'll read more books from this author.....

What an awesome story. Fun and adorable. I could not put this book down, I flew through the pages it was that good. Darcy was such a surly jerk, I adored him. I liked how Eliot stood up for himself as well.

I like Cristas paranormal books. It's the first mpreg book I have read of hers.

Its a remake?/modern day version of P&P but Darcy was still show snobbish for what reason?
Crista has tried to keep most of the plot similar to the classic but somehow feels off in the modern day. whats with giving a letter which is hand delivery by the writer ugh? But like the twist of Mc being pregnant.

Anyways, conceptually I did not agree with ppl not able to outright speak 'feels' (by simply talking) and get over with the problem. So classic or not I gave a three.

Pride and Prejudice in MM romance with Mpreg!

Super cute, I liked the modern take with the gender swap.. alpha and omega MM.

It is a slow burn, not as steamy (altho there is 1 smexy scene which resulted to the mpreg) and really sweet romance.

It's really a nice retelling, a good omegaverse story and well written.. but it does not live up to the beauty of the original, pride and prejudice is simply peerless.
Recommended if you're an omegaverse fan and if you love retellings

I loveee it so much!

Boring with a capital B. There was no chemistry between Elliot and Darcy. While reading this book, I was so frustrated that I almost couldn't finish it. The convo is so boring and not coherent.

Acceptable if you have nothing else to read otherwise it's boring and monotonous. Clearly not my cup of tea. The few first chapters didn't win me over and I ended up dropping it.

Such A Wonderful Take On A Favorite Classic!

Just finished reading it, and I loved it! There was so much that was the same as the original, so comforting and familiar. And then there was so much that was an amazingly unique modern interpretation! I never thought of how to create a modern version of the situation with Mr. Collins, for instance. And I loved Mr. Bingley becoming Mr. Bing Lee! Elliott was so sweet with that inner fire that defined Elizabeth Bennet. And Darcy's struggles to let go of his cynicism and become a loving man are delightful to witness. Such a wonderful take on a favorite classic!

A novel take on a classic

I loved the book (and more specifically the BBC mini series) that this novel is based on. This book is Pride and Prejudice, in a modern ABO context. I love how seamlessly the author blended the story into the modern day. The writing is smooth, and well paced, though I would have loved a longer book. It feels like it the relationship between Darcy and Elliot moves too fast towards the end. Still, this was a great read. Very worth it if you’re a fan of the original like me.

Amazing!!!!!!

Pride and Pregnancy is a Mpreg reimaging of Pride and Prejudice, written by Crista Crown. And it is AMAZING!!! Since Pride and Prejudice was always one of my favorite books, I was extremely excited to read this game on the classic tale. And it is not disappoint.

The chemistry between the characters, the humor, sweetness, sexiness and drama.... It sucks you into the world. It was perfectly executed retelling. I definitely recommend this book.

Aw

I loved the story so much! I love Jane Austen and this book had so many similar things to Pride and Prejudice! I love the similar names (Bing compared to Bingley) and how similar things happened in this book like the pride and prejudice book! I loved Elliot and Darcy so much! This was amazing!

Loved it

Pride and prejudice MPreg style what's not to love! Fans of the classic and mm will love this re-imagining, with it's twists to characters, it is original enough to make it worth reading. I have several different tellings of P and P, this book will be joining them on my re-read list.

Jane Austen would approve.

Such a great story. Nice modernization of Pride and Prejudice with appropriate gender-swapping. I really enjoyed it, nearly as much as I liked the original.

Great read!

I really enjoyed reading this book. I love a good mpreg and this was. I also love Sense and Sensibility. The only part that bothered me was that Darcy knew Eliot was pregnant and it was probably his and he waited but if not where would the angst be.

Loved the twist with this MM and Mpreg version of Pride and Prejudice. Love the character names, they are twists on the original characters names.
A great read. Well worth the read. Highly Recommend.

It's 2.5 stars for me.

When you pick up a book like this, you don't expect a literary masterpiece. You go into it knowing it's gonna be an easy and most likely clichéd and predictable read, so there's no reason to be disappointed. And lets be honest, most people picking books like this want exactly that. It's comforting and enjoyable. Everyone wants to just turn their brains off from time to time. And I mostly got what I signed up for by choosing this book as my next read.

This would be a solid three stars read if it wasn't for two things.

1. The weird jumping between scenes and what we knew before and after. At times, it seemed as if parts of the book were missing. Some characters suddenly knew each other and were friends even though they had no idea of each other's existence in the previous chapter. I would even say there were too many characters. Unnecessary and confusing. It was weird.

2. Not enough chemistry between Eliot and Darcy. I needed more feelings and angst from them.

First off, let me say I never read Pride & Prejudice and I have never seen any P&P movie adaptation except for Pride and Prejudice & Zombies ( which I enjoyed) my opinion is based solely on THIS book which is a modern, MM, mpreg story.

I was not a fan of Darcy’s in the beginning. He was so arrogant and standoffish but, since he’s a rich Alpha, I suppose it suits him. I did love Eliot and a good portion of the side characters.

The only thing that frustrated me was the story seemed to stretch out all the misunderstandings and misconceptions between the MCs as well as a few side characters. However, my understanding is that classic P&P is the same way.

All-in-all, I enjoyed this book. There were a few editing errors but, nothing too major.

I was going to give this three stars but the little to no proofreading was so atrocious that I couldn’t. Who’s instead of whose, to instead of too, saw instead of heard, mixing up character names, the list goes on. Also the MC drinks when he knows he’s pregnant! Not to mention that the story rambled and could have been much tighter with less pages. There should have been more than one draft of this story. So two stars.

I hate this book. Alpha and Omega just used as words. There are zero personality traits related to that. The emcees have minimum page time with each other and there are so many other secondary characters which they interact with but there is hardly anything between the two of them. Very disappointing.

I have read a ton of Pride & Prejudice variations. This book fell quite short of the mark for me. The pregnancy felt very tacked-on, and there wasn’t enough worldbuilding to support it. Other parts of the book and plot were cute, but the portions cribbed directly from the original didn’t always work out.

Couldn’t put it down

I loved the drama and the adventure that Eliot and Darcy had to get where they did. The last scene was so precious and wonderful conclusion of what they went through.

I still have no idea why they fall in love with each other...if I just forget this logic for falling love, this story is not bad.
