Oooook.... I was not a fan of this book. I could not connect to the characters which, honestly, is quite shocking given the premise of the story. Like, I can completely support the plight of the women who this tale encompasses, but I found their methods distasteful.

It also felt very choppy to me. Overall, I was not drawn in or impressed.

DNF midway through Chapter 2.

Cliched in every way imaginable. Plus, so far rape (by name or not) has been referenced about half a dozen times, which is a BIG turn off for me. First when the brother suggests the women are being kept alive for reasons in the first battle. Then, when the enemy takes her captive and the soldiers talk about a man breaking her and another says, "maybe more than one." Then when the duke's daughter's betroths brings it up, and then when she walks in on her father in th

Audiobook review: Set in medieval times, this story is a short novella set-up to a larger series involving four young ladies who find their inner strength when beaten down by male dominance in one manor or another. The scenes are well developed and the characters are interesting. I look forward to more from this world. The narrator did a good job but was a little slower in speed of reading than I like. A narrating speed of 1.5x was perfect for me. I received a free promo code at my request and h ...more

While this story was well written, I have a problem with the ethics of the story so I can not give it a high rating. The basic story line is that a bunch of women fall victim in various ways to the men who are in power and the women band together with a goal of wrestling power away from the men and putting women in control. My ethical problem is that they decide to do this for revenge and the way they decide to wrest control from the men is by using seduction (ie sex). Sex was designed by God to ...more

I was given this book for free at my request but the opinion is of my own. Women are being used wrongly and they decide that they are tired of the way the government is ran and decided to set up there own taking revenge for what’s been done to them. The few issues I had is that there seems to not be quite an ending it leaves on a cliffhanger which is fine but I don’t know if the author is going to do another with these women and what happens to them. I thought the unique stories are interesting ...more

I really enjoyed this story about several women who seek to avenge themselves against the men who have abused them and to change the world they live in. The story has a fairy tale or parable theme to it - exotic, medieval setting, nobles an peasants and strong characters, both the heroes and the villains and a satisfying ending.
Worth the read.

I love powerful women. And this book had plenty. Women that came together and formed a allegiance.
