Jisatsu Circle is a horror manga that combines its suicide culture and a theme seen in many Japanese horror material: the "cycle" of a deadly legacy to others.

If you are just new to Japanese horror fiction, then Jisatsu Circle (or Suicide Club) is a really, really weird material to read. The gore may be too much. But there are numerous titles which are much weirder and gorier than this. What gives Suicide Club a slight edge over the others is its tone of an unknown evil lurking, perhaps in the s

3.5 estrellas...

Jisatsu Circle is an adaptation of the Suicide Club film released in 2002 written and directed by Sion Sono. The manga was originally meant to follow the film, however, Sono asked Usamaru Furuya to put his own spin on the story, giving the franchise a fresh makeover and a new plotline.

Having not watched the original film, reading Jisatsu Circle was my first look into this franchise and I was a little hesitant. It took me a while to decide if I would read the manga or watch the fil

Three stars because I can see the potential of it if it was stretched a little bit. No problem with short stories but this seems like rushed and that made me quite disappointed. However, the concept was great! It is disturbing and bizarre and you could really feel that as you read along and that's great because that's what its all about. There's a light in all the darkness so you just have to keep an open mind while reading this but in the end this story is just gonna play with your mind..

✮ Read this review and more like it on The Last Page

Based off of the cult film, Suicide Circle, the distressing nature of this manga hits the reader hard and fast. A stunning thriller that is difficult to put down, I ended up reading it in one sitting. The story follows Kyoko as she watches the descent of her childhood best friend, Saya, the only survivor of a mass suicide. Kyoko finds herself pulled deeper into the mysteries of a suicide cult as she attempts to save Saya.

“How do you relate to

Final predecible.

AKA Jisatsu Circle AKA suicide club.

It was ok. Predictable, slightly creepy, short. Not the best horror manga I've read.

A escrita do autor é bem crua e direta.

Greatly disturbing but the ending was predictable. The illustrations were nice though. Good job with illustrating memorable faces and facial expressions

Woah. This was messed up beyond measure.

Vale a pena, eu te garanto!

The story is disturbing to me since it tackles the not so ordinary topic of suicide. Included also are topics of prostitution, bullying and even murder - by young girls. I finished reading this because it caught up my interest even though the character drawing was not really the type I usually go for. Overall, the story was fast phased, back story was included even the after story of the main event in just a single volume.

It's not one of the worst manga yet has a unique concept about contemporary social and psychological. This is also not the first work I've read from the author because before, I had read No Longer Human which became one of the most difficult manga personally. Although this is the adaptation of a movie with the same name, I think it would be better to add some references and interesting things so that the story and character will develop much. It's not too memorable but it's one that I love about ...more

A quick, 1 volume manga loosely based on the Sion Sono film Suicide Club. It took me a half hour to read and I'll probably forget about it by tomorrow. A real game changer.

A présent, de nouveaux chan ...more

I came across this manga because I am thinking to watch the movie. The story is incredible dark and disturbing. Suicide in mass... high school students. They are all suffering in some kind of way and decide to enter this creepy society. The opening with the 54 girls jumping in front of the train at Shinjuku station was shocking (although I did watch the trailer of the movie, but in the manga it looks worst in my opinion).

The detective looks exactly the same as the actor. I am still thinking if

This wasn't something I set out to read, I stumbled across is and since it's a quick read I found myself finishing it.

I'm finding it tough to rate, so I'm going to stick with the middle ground 3.

From a story/entertainment standpoint, it's not overly satisfying. When one of 54 suicidal girls survives a jump in front of an oncoming train, it's up to her best friend to pull her out of her depression before the cycle starts again. It's very dark and rather depressing.

From an artistry standpoint,

Very creeped Manga. Suicide has always been something that sends chills down my spine, especially self-mutilation, I once witnessed a girl cutting her wrists once and I have never been able to forget the image.

Jisatsu Circle is about a large group of girls that commit a mass suicide by jumping in front of a moving train, there is only one survior named Saya. Saya's world is dark and twisted and her friend Kyoko wants to pull her out of this dark place, as Kyoko searches for answers she discover
