Ein Herzog zu Weihnachten
Eine zauberhafte Weihnachtsnovelle aus der Feder von Bestsellerautorin Christi Caldwell.

William was an ass in the beginning. A true gentleman wouldn't speak like that to any woman, and in public no less.
There was an incongruity in chapter 2. If Cara's mother died when she was 7 years old, how can she have memories of her mother at 13?
What was Cara's purpose for destroying the carriage? When all she decided was to go back to the finishing school instead to her father's estate. She could simply instruct the driver to bring her to the school ...more
I really liked the premise of this book and it was begging to be drawn out and have more tension and excitement but it ended up being super breezy sweet and easy. No steam in this one either.
This is my first Christi Caldwell book and it won't be my last. I have to admit that at first I thought I was not going to like the book. It moved slow and I lost interest, but the more I read I got intrigued. Then of course when I should be in bed I got sucked headlong into it and could NOT put it down. I love a good Christmas romance they are usually light and cheerful stories. Will and Cara's story however had some lighter moments but at the heart of it was gut wrenching emotional story o ...more
William is a carefree, fun loving man who wants love like his parents have.
Cara is sheltered and determined not to show her pain to the world.
The sadness the Heroine carries had me in tears. The author does a FANTASTIC job at making the reader feel the emotions of this story. Every written word drew forth feelings of pain, love and laughter with in. I love a book that i can get lost in and this one did just that
I enjoyed this Christmas story with some adventures, bantering, love and romance. I highly recommend this book and this whole series.
This is a tender Christmas tale of a woman who became an ice princess to protect herself from feelings. Her bad behavior is called out by a stranger who makes her question how she has lived for the past decade. They are stranded in the same inn during a blizzard, giving them time to get to know each other. It's a quick read that's sweet.
As always Ms. Caldwell did not fail in delivering a story that showed that love conquers all. How a hero can rescue his heroine by seeing beyond the surface and helping her to find her true self even after society and her family see only ice and ugliness. He sees who she truly is and loves her for it. Helping her to change into a better self!
The only thing missing?
A proper ending.
Our heroine was pretty mean to several people her whole life but she doesn't really apologize to those she should in the end. Would have loved to see that because she intended to do so, at least that's what she hinted at.
Anyways, great plot, shows us what misconceptions, what pride, what prejudice may lead to.
Lovely main characters. No intimate relations (except for kissss) before they promise themselves to each other.

Every time Christi Caldwell puts her fingers on the keyboard, characters crystallize and fall into line, some with tiny breaks, some with inclusions, some sparkling clear like diamonds, some the rare, rich colors of rubies, sapphires, and emeralds, but all with some delicate flaw that make them human. The characters in this little jewel are vintage Christi Caldwell, with pain driving their actions, and the actions of each driving the other, until a final rush ...more
