Daphne Templeton returns in the fifth book in the Lucky Paws Petsitting mystery series by Bethany Blake. In this latest book, Daphne’s sister Piper is getting married. Their mother insists on hiring a wedding planner who plans an extravagant wedding. When the wedding planner is found strangled with a garter, Daphne sleuths to find the killer.

This book is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. I’ve only read one other book in this series, but I do plan to go back and read the others.

Since this series is one of my go-to-series I read it at once and found another good addition to the Lucky Paws Pet Sitting. It was good to see what Daphne Templeton and her for friends Socrates and Tinkerman are up to. Daphne's affair with the Homicide detective, Jonathan Black is getting serious except he is at a special assignment in San Diego, California. Socrates is very happy as his special friend Snowball is living away from him. Tinkerman as had to accept another cat, Ms. Peebles at the ...more

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this book!

I was so excited to see I was approved for this book! I adore this series, and I couldn't wait to see what Daphne and her gang of small town friends and family were up to this time. I love everything about this series; the mystery is always good, the theme of petsitting stands out, and the romance is super sizzling, especially considering the love interest's name is one of my major turn offs (whe you know someone in real l

SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING MEWED, the fifth book in the Lucky Paws Petsitting Mystery series by Bethany Blake, is another terrific addition to one of my favorite series in publication. A wedding planner out of control, competing mother-of-the-bride and mother-of-the-groom, adorable dogs galore, and a Harley-riding bridesmaid with a pet pig… Ms. Blake provides a rollicking tale that had me laughing out loud many times. Not only does she weave many humorous situations into a tightly plotted mys ...more

I received a free copy of this book through Netgalley and voluntarily reviewed it.

I just love this series, it's one of my favorite cozy mystery series. And every time a new book arrives I am excited to follow Daphne and her dog Socrates on another adventure where they solve a murder mystery. In this book her sister Piper is getting married, but things take a turn for the worse when the wedding planner turns up death.

I liked the mystery in this one. At times it felt like we had all the pieces, b

"Something Borrowed, Something Mewed" by Bethany Blake the fifth book in the Lucky Paws Pet Sitting Mystery series. I enjoyed this book and have purchased the previous four books so I can start at the beginning and be all caught up.

Even though I haven't read the previous books in this series, it didn't cause a problem as this can be read as a stand-alone. I must admit it did take me awhile to get into this book but that could be because I haven't read the previous books but about halfway in I wa

Something Borrowed, Something Mewed is the fifth in Bethany Blake’s Lucky Paws Pet Sitting Mystery series. The storyline is well plotted, and the characters are well developed. This book held my attention from beginning to the end and has plenty of twists and turns, and no shortage of potential suspects to keep the reader guessing. This steadily paced book is an enjoyable, clean read, with an interesting mystery and touches of humor and romance. Ms. Blake provides sufficient background informati ...more

This series shows special relationships between friends, couples and humans with their pets. However, my favorite thing in this story is how it is peppered with teasers that leave you hanging for a bit but not for too long and that it is mixed with fun, romance and mystery.

I have read and enjoyed all the books in this series but this could also easily be read as a stand alone. Thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for an ARC. The opinions expressed are my own.

A veritable treasure chest of canines, felines, weddings and murder. Although this was my first book read in the Lucky Paws Pet Sitting series, I can see why it's a favorite for so many reviewers. Daphne Templeton 's sister is scheduled to be we'd in an affair grown larger by the two mothers-in-law to be when a rain storm, a booking scheme and murder cause the postponement. Lots of fun! Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I think this is one of the cutest cozy mystery series out at the moment. When the relationship between a pedantic Basset Hound and a reforming snooty, pampered Poodle can be a focal point, you know it’s something different.

While the pooches and the kitty cats and the pet pig and even the pet rat (yeah, don’t ask) make star appearances, they enhance the storyline rather than detract from it. Socrates, Daphne’s Basset hound, makes an excellent sounding board for her theorizing. It’s not overdone

I really enjoyed this 5th Petsitting Mystery! The mystery itself is challenging, the characters and pets make the series what it is. I enjoyed visiting Sylvan Creek during the Fourth of July activities, and particularly loved Daphne Templeton's primary business of petsitting as well as her pet bakery.

Daphne's sister Piper and her fiance Roger and most of their wedding party are at Abigail Sinclair's Artful Engagements for their rehearsal dinner, at least until it is rained out. Abigail is THE we

Though the main character was not my favorite person at the beginning of this series she has grown on me and this has become one of my favorite cozy series.

In this one Piper is getting married but the outrageous wedding planner gets murdered and things really start to fall apart for the wedding. Daphne wants to make sure Piper has a great day so she not only has to put up with the murder victim’s cat who has a way of getting into weird places and not being able to get out.

Honestly guys I think this series just keeps getting better for me. So a wedding is being planned in Sylvan Creek and while the bride isn't really in favor of the planned 4th of July themed nuptials, she sure didn't want the wedding planner to die. And when the husband of the bride is one of the prime suspects, Daphne takes it upon herself to start investigating again in order to help out her sister.

This installment once again has some of our favorite characters - people and pets. We have Daphne

This is the fifth in the series and not my first foray into the Lucky Paws Petsitting Mysteries.

There is the prerequisite death that must be investigated (the wedding planner - Abigail Sinclair) and other sub-plots. I enjoyed how these were woven together. Just made me want to continue turning the pages.

There are recipes for homemade pet treats that I freely shared with a friend who’s dog has IBS.

I received an e-copy of the book via Netgalley and am not required to leave a positive review.

Daphne’s sister, Piper, is getting married. Piper’s mother and future mother-in-law want this to be the wedding of the year. However, when the wedding planner turns up dead just before the wedding, things take a turn for the worst.

This is my first book in this series. I enjoyed the mystery part but was a little overwhelmed with the amount the animals contributed their opinions of the activities.

This is my first Daphne Templeton novel but that was okay. I didn't feel lost or worried about what happened in the other four. This one stands very well on its own. A wonderful read. Daphne and her basset Socrates are adorable. The pet treat recipes at the end are a perfect touch to this cozy mystery. I just might have to try and get my hands on the first four in this series as Ms. Blake's writing is simply enjoyable, making me feel like I was visiting an old friend in a familiar town :))

Loved it! Family issues. A wedding. Cats and dogs. Romance and murder. Bethany Blake had me intrigued from the first page. I had to force myself to go to bed by noting that the rest of the story would still be there in the morning. Some sweet and predictable surprises. I know, how can a surprise be predictable? You'll see. I am eager to read the next one in this series. Lots of potential for some entertaining stories. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.

Bethany Blake lives in a small, quaint town in Pennsylvania with her husband and three daughters.
