Recived the ARC from Netgalley
I liked the 40% of the book, but then it went downhill from that.
It was just meh? I could'nt connect with the MC characters after that and i felt like they were just making stupid decicion after decicion, ugh. It just wasn't for me.

I've really been enjoying Charles' Forever Friends series. It's full of fun, somewhat cranky characters that you really like. We are finally at Dax's story and I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to it.

Dax is just such a fun, easy going great guy. You can't help but be pulled in by him. You want to know him. I know he was only at the shelter because he was ordered to, but that didn't mean he didn't end up

The other books in this series we’re great, and I was really looking forward to Dax's story. He's a bit of a mess, doing community service at the Forever Friends animal shelter instead of jail time, but he's a loveable mess. He has a huge heart and he's taking life more seriously, trying to get a bank loan to buy the outdoor adventure company where he works when the owner retires. Now that he's on the straight and narrow, the last thing he needs in his life is the larger-than-life, pixie of a ga ...more

I was given an electronic copy by Kensington Books through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I’m going to write my review in a different format this time in the hope that it can help give a clearer understanding of things that worked and things that didn’t work for me. These may be things that are particular to just me or things that are universally liked or disliked in their reading. The book comes out on June 11th.

Forever Wild by Allyson Charles
Forever Friends #3

Dax Cannon is in New Orleans to pick up 8 at-risk dogs to take back to a sanctuary in Michigan when a woman catches his eye. She disappears before he can catch her and considers it a missed opportunity – until he finds her stowed away in the back of the van with all of the dogs! From that point on the story deals with their growing interest in one another, his hopes and plans to purchase an outdoor adventure company, her desire to attend an art sc

I will say upfront that I did not get the chance (time) to read the first two books in this series before diving into FOREVER WILD. I wish I had, although you can easily read this one on its own I would have liked to know more background about Dax and the other characters from the earlier stories. That is all me, not the book. I felt what I really needed to know was provided in the narrative and in the dialogue, but I’m a reader who would rather experience a complete

Annelise "Lissa" Ansel is an artist who stows away in a Forever Friends' van Dax Cannon has driven from Pineville, Michigan to New Orleans to pick up some rescue dogs. Lissa is in trouble and needs to get away from New Orleans pronto. Too bad Lissa's trouble follows her to Pineville. Dax decides Lissa needs a "keeper" so they spend lots of time together. Lissa is afraid that her "trouble" will get Dax hurt. Little does she know that there are some special dogs who can take care of the thugs who ...more

This is the third book in the series. I'm going to be honest after getting know Dax a little in the previous books I was surprised by him in this book. I thought he would be more playful and jokester, but he is more responsible and the voice of reason. That threw me a little, but in no means did that ruin this book for me. I can see that he wants to grow up and be a more mature adult. That's when Lissa puts a wrench in his plans. She's an artist and a free spirit. She makes sure Dax doesn't let ...more

What can I say? I enjoy Forever Wild with its characters who make questionable decisions. In fact, it is nearly impossible not to like helpful, gentlemanly Dax Cannon who doesn’t mind his enforced community service with Forever Friends Animal Rescue. Such a positive man, who could Lissa not fall head over heels for him. Lissa is also a unique character. She seems determined to act without thinking anything through. She definitely needed a keeper especially when danger comes around. The animals a ...more

Annelise Ansel is on the run. When she sees the men that she knows are after her, she jumps in to the back of Dax Cannon’s van. Dax heads for Michigan and finds Lissa in the back of his van along with the 8 at-risk dogs that he is rescuing for the Forever Friends Rescue. Instead of forcing to get other transportation, Dax agrees to take her along on his trip to Michigan. Lissa is waiting to start her schooling at the Bruggart-Tayo School of Visual Arts…an art career that her parents do not appro ...more

This was a good entertaining read with some truly interesting characters. Free spirit doesn't begin to describe Lissa. She definitely a unique personality, almost to the point of being annoying. Dax is steady and serious, a complete opposite to Lissa's personality. Then there are all the dogs!! They make this story fun to read. There's a real insta=love element which isn't normally my thing but it works well in this story. Overall this book was an entertaining quick read so I would recommend it.

Fun Book to read. Dax is on his way home with 8 rescue dogs when he discovers a stowaway Lissa is running away from her troubles and is willing to help him with the dogs. He is relunctant at first but they do have chemistry. There are some missteps and the dogs are involved at times. It is always nice to have the author touch on characters from previous books. I enjoyed this book. I got this book from NetGalley for an honest review

Ok - upfront- I didn't read the first two books and I don't think that mattered a bit. Second, ok, yes, some of this might be a tad predictable but be honest- you know you love books where there's some sparring and then a happy ending. And puppies! Dax has a track record (ahem) and Lissa's got some bad guys after her. She hitches a ride from Louisiana to Pineville, Michigan with him and along the way, well.....Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. This is a fun read.

A fun, impulsive romance. The dog on the cover attracted me to the story. He did not disappoint. The couple had their issues. Their friends were actively involved. The dangerous situation was complicated. I skipped over the intimate details. A wild tale from beginning to end. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.

This is a sweet story with wonderful characters. Dax and Lissa are endearing characters and so are all of their furry friends. This book was well written and had a storyline that flowed seamlessly. I would definitely recommend this book .

Allyson Charles writes small-town, contemporary romances with heat and humor. A former attorney, she happily ditched those suits and now works in her pajamas writing about men’s briefs instead of legal briefs. When she’s not writing, she’s probably engaged in one of her favorite hobbies: napping, eating, or martial arts (That last one almost makes up for the first two, right?). She also writes ste ...more
