" I hope that as you've read this book, you have caught a glimpse of how Jesus reaches even into the darkest parts of our souls to find us. He hasn't gone anywhere. He certainly hasn't dissapeared. Actually, we have been hiding -- hiding from God, from each other and even from ourselves. Finding God is not always easy, but not because God has gone anywhere. No, it is difficult, because we forget where to look, or we forget why we care or that it even matters. But God keeps showing up. We Christians, often make things complicated and take ourselves way too seriously. We convince ourselves that how good we are ( or aren't) is the key to whether or not the " Jesus formula" propers in us. We too often beleive that our church pedigree ( or lack thereof) defines the depth of our faith, and we're eager to buy the lie that one misstep or broken edge and God just won't be able to to love us anymore. But God keeps showing up. He is tenacious, undaunted, and very much in love with you and me. But, sometimes in the midst of the struggle we find it hard to remember. We are not alone. This is an amazing book written by a pastor with AIDS who has been shunned by his church. He teaches about ways that people who were less than desirable met Jesus and how it changed their lives. A must read for anyone who is traveling the road of life and find themselves on the wrong path.
