This volume features some of the most interesting, influential, and therefore required reading on the early days of the internet and digital culture. It also features essays that have not aged well to say the least. But, well, you take the good with the bad. For the most part this is a critically important collection with many essential pieces that are still relevant for contemplation and use today. The book suffers in the sense that its packaging makes these essays a bit arduous to read, but if you can muscle through the bland design and jam-packed pages there's a lot of gold to mine here for those interested in new media, media studies, and digital culture.
