For His Pleasure is the type of book that can deal with some pretty serious issues while also delivering a steamy and sometimes lighthearted story. I could really appreciate how this author handled Dreama's attack and the subsequent panic attacks that she dealt with because of it, and I liked that it was focused on quite a bit but it wasn't the main focus.

Cash and Dreama and this intensity between them that had me on the edge of my seat more than the suspenseful parts of their story did. I loved that connection they had and how it played out throughout the entirety of the book and the emotions that they brought out of me. And speaking of those suspenseful moments, I very much enjoyed the mystery that played out in this book as well. It wasn't the most shocking thing ever but it was well written and still had me captivated.

Definitely a book, and series, that I recommend reading if you're a fan of the hotter suspense out there. You really get it all with this book; the mystery and intrigue, the romance, the steamy scenes, and the heartfelt ones.

A bit of everything. Pleasure, pain, romance, even murder.

There’s something about the taboo type of romance. This one is a little different with the romance being between a parolee and the parole officer.

The book grabs you from the very beginning with an horrifying act of violence. It’s shocking and you truly don’t know where the author is going with this.

But with all things bad we are given the good. His name is Cash and he is delicious -but also a bit broken. Because of that he knows exactly how she needs to be treated.

There’s something wicked going on that ties these people together. There’s also something very hot that you cannot wait for the author to fully explore. It takes a bit but it is certainly electric when it happens and you can’t help but cheer them on.

This book is part of the series and there are certain areas that you do feel a bit lost if you have not read the others (like me). I thought I had read one of the other books prior because it sounded very familiar, but I have not. It was a bit confusing in spots but I quickly caught on. However, it would be a more complete story by reading the prior books.

Overall the author wrote a fabulous story with emotion, passion, and a whole lotta heat. With touches of BDSM, suspense, crime, and violence, you get a huge range that keeps the interest levels high and you are totally engaged throughout. Great read!

For His Pleasure was the perfect combination of suspense, mystery and kink with a bit of forbidden. It was also a funny and dealt with some heavy issues. I thoroughly enjoyed Cash and Dreama's story and hope that there will be another book in the series. I highly recommend this book and series to those who love their sexy times mixed with suspense.

I've been reading erotic romance a long time and it takes more than "kinky sex" or BDSM for an erotic romance to capture my attention. There's a good hot contemporary story here. There's even a halfway decent romantic suspense story here (although things get a little absurd towards the end). However the BDSM/erotic romance elements? Felt entirely superfluous. Could have easily been removed from the story, from these characters, and I'd argue the whole thing actually would have hung together better. It would have made the story stronger. As it was, I felt like the BDSM is here for titillation and "hot sex" but doesn't really add anything to the actual plot nor the emotional journeys of the characters.

As an erotic romance? Meh. Kinda wish this had been romantic suspense only and left at that. YMMV.

Y’all, I haven’t read that steamy of a suspenseful romance in ages and HOLY. SHIT.

This book has everything you could want from a suspenseful romance. Their chemistry is juicy, the author leaves you hanging over the edge multiple times, and the sex scenes are INSANE. If you were a big fan of Fifty Shades but are looking for more of a stand-alone book this is right up your alley!

It's been too long since I read SBell. She does romantic suspense/erotic romance so well! She immediately pulled me into the story and kept me engaged to the very end. Dreama and Cash were a forbidden match made it heaven and even if I guessed whodunit before the reveal, I doubted myself because I just didn't wanna believe it. I didn't realize I hadn't read the 2 earlier books in this series but I'm rectifying that asap.

For His Pleasure was riveting, immediately pulling me into the the story, and it kept me engaged to the end. SBell writes suspenseful and HOT stories populated by fascinating characters and this one did not disappoint.

Highlights:

*Characters
Dreama and Cash were a forbidden match made in heaven. They'd both experienced tragic events and came out the other side stronger. Especially Dreama because despite her perceived weakness, she was one of the strongest women - always willing to fight for what is right. Cash was one of those guys who protects those he loves and would do bodily harm to anyone who hurts a woman. Noble. That's a big commonality between Dreama and Cash. They're both noble. And I adored them.

*Plot/Sub-plots
The main plot involves Dreama helping Cash figure out the truth about what happened the night that landed him in prison. There are, of course, people who don't want that information revealed and therefore Dreama is in jeopardy. This made for some excellent suspense. And although I did figure out whodunit before the reveal, I didn't want to believe it! There are a couple of sub-plots woven in that gave For His Pleasure more depth. SBell deftly incorporated these and I enjoyed the complexity they added.

*Romance
Dreama and Cash were rather captivated by one another. But the deck was stacked against them. Not only was a relationship forbidden - parole office/parolee - but Dreama also had some lingering issues due to the attach she suffered. So seeing them defy the odds - and the rules - because what they had was not something you ignore, was heartwarming. Oh, and HOT. I appreciated how SBell worked in the BDSM angle despite Dreama's issues.

 
For His Pleasure is the third book in the Forbidden Lovers series but it can be read standalone. However, a few of the characters from the previous books play important roles here and I'm very curious about them and their romance. So I'll be catching up asap. It's been awhile since I read SBell and I'd forgotten how well she writes Romantic Suspense/Erotic Romance. For His Pleasure was a pleasant reminder and I'll be putting more SBell into my queue.

I spent the better part of the book on the edge of my seat, bracing myself for what was surely to be an explosive ending... and boy was it ever! I absolutely loved my time with Dreama and Cash, their story had moments that touched my heart, and moments that had me reaching for a fan, the heat was unreal with these two! If you are a romantic suspense fan you will love this one, it's an edgy, passionate, emotional tale that'll thrill and curl the toes! Highly recommend!

GIRL, GET YOUR PEARLS ON! YOU'RE GONNA NEED THEM TO CLUTCH WHILE YOU READ THIS!

I never thought that I would enjoy a romance novel featuring BDSM elements. This was new territory for me, and I was afraid that I wasn't going to enjoy it. Needless to say, I ended up quite enjoying it! Shelly Bell did a FANTASTIC job in building up your anticipation of the actions along with your characters. She used these scenarios to tease you as well as the characters, and it was amazing to read. The dynamics with the partnership felt balanced, and that even though there was a clear Dom/Sub in the bedroom, they were partners outside of it.

That said, there were elements within the plot that felt a little far reaching for me. (stalking, being threatened, etc.) These elements almost felt forced in this particular plot. I wish that these would have been woven in more seamlessly. (Then again, who am I to talk. I could NEVER write something like this. I don't have the knack for it.)

This book actually opened a great conversation with my hubby and I about our bedroom habits, because I was reading things that I would never be comfortable talking about aloud. It got me to talk, and open up to him.

Dreama is a parole officer and was attacked a year ago. She was badly beaten and can’t have men touch her. She was a submissive and masochist but now she has panic attacks. Cash was in jail for eights years when he agreed to involuntary manslaughter now he out on parole and Dreama is his parole officer. They are immediately attracted to each other but a parole official and parolee aren’t permitted to date. When she looks over his file, she finds some inconsistencies and they start looking into his case. Someone doesn’t want them too and when women Cash work with start dying, it also puts Dreama in danger too. Can Cash protect her or will she become another victim?
Awesome story with suspense and BDSM. I love this series and was not disappointed with this book. A woman having to find her true self and a man just wanting to get on with his life. Secrets and surprises.

This my first book by this author and it would not be my last. Ms. Bell writes Romance erotic suspense. Typical erotic books are turnoff for some(I don't typically go looking for these novels) but this storyline was so well developed that the BDSM is like a back drop.
Cash has just been release from prison for manslaughter. One night while driving home with his wife he was allegedly intoxicated and killed his wife and unborn child when his car slide off the road.
Dreama his parole officer is also dealing with her own trauma a year previously she was beaten within an inch of her life and left for dead and has to adjust back to normalcy as she returns to work. She is assigned Cash's case and immediately both of them know there is an under current amongst them. While checking Cash's file Dreama sees some inconsistency and begin to wonder if he truly had anything to do with his wife death. Both Dreama and Cash run against time to find out what truly happened with his case woman who work with Cash start dying the same way that Dreama was attacking a year ago with a baseball bat and she begins to wonder was her killer truly dead or has he come back to finish her off. Love the pace the author kept not focusing on the BDSM but truly giving us a window in the soul of both characters seeing their struggles they broken heart and their triumph.

This one had me hooked from page one and found I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Dreama Agosta is a parole officer who is trying to get her life back after being assaulted in a home invasion. She knows returning to work is going to be difficult but she is met with obstacles from the beginning when she tries to enter the building. This is where she first meets Cash Turner. He is the calming voice who settles her anxiety when security is doing everything to keep her from entering because of all the metal in her body that sets off the metal detector. Little does she know until she gets to her desk but he is her first new parolee. Cash is newly released from prison after serving time for a murder he did not commit. Cash and Dreama have chemistry off the charts but getting together could be the end to her career. Though when they start to investigate the crime that sent Cash to prison they catch the eye of the murderer and he now has Dreama in his sights and that could be the end of her. Oh, so much suspense, so much heat, so much goodness and sexy heat in one book. Definitely the way to heat up this cold summer!

I haven’t really been picking up “erotica” novels since they’re usually too angsty and the general romance books I read are steamy enough for me.

This one was just ok. Should I always assume that “erotica” books center on BDSM? I honestly think this book would have been better without the BDSM. Seems a little too coincidental for a parole officer and parolee to magically be attracted to one another and discover they’re both into BDSM and one just happens to be a sub and the other a Dom.

I feel I overestimated the severity of Dreama’s disability as a result of her attack. The first quarter of the book she was constantly in pain and limping, then in later situations she was thrown on her bed and ordered to crawl to her bedroom. While I understand her pain may have subsided over time, I feel like it would have made more sense if she kind of checked in once in a while to give us a heads up about that? It’s like she was magically healed.

The mystery and suspense bits were fun, though the hypnotist part was pretty eye roll-worthy (sorry, professional hypnotherapists!).

„Nights of Pleasure“ ist der dritte Teil einer Reihe, die aber komplett unabhängig lesbar sind. Das Cover gefällt mir gut und es passt zu Handlung. Der Klappentext hat mich direkt angesprochen und ich war gespannt darauf, was mich erwartet. Shelly Bell hat einen schönen, flüssigen und modernen Schreibstil. Ich bin nur so durch die Seiten geflogen und ich habe es in einem Rutsch gelesen. Die Handlung hat mir gut gefallen aber leider kam für mich, trotz der Nachforschungen, nicht wirklich Spannung auf. Es gab auch die ein oder andere Länge und es war auch ein bisschen vorhersehbar.

Die Charaktere haben mir gut gefallen und gerade Dreama habe ich sehr schnell in mein Herz geschlossen. Sie war greifbar, hatte Tiefe und ich habe sie von der ersten Seite an in mein Herz geschlossen. Ihre Geschichte hat mir das Herz zerrissen und ich habe ihre Ängste und ihr Verhalten gegenüber Männern absolut verstanden. Auch Cash war interessant und er war mir sehr sympathisch. Ich fand es sehr toll wie er mit Dreama und ihren Ängsten umgangen ist. Auch die Entwicklung zwischen den beiden konnte man gut nachvollziehen und sie war in einem guten Tempo beschrieben.

„Nights of Pleasure“ war eine schöne Geschichte für zwischendurch. Mir hat es ein bisschen an Spannung gefehlt, dennoch hatte ich ein paar schöne Lesestunden.

Von mir gibt es eine kleine Leseempfehlung.

Seriously!!! This is the type of book I needed!!!! AHHHH I forgot about everything tha Ryder and Jane went through in the last book, I am so happy that with Dreama's book there was these smal little recaps. Ok so what do I think about this book. Like I said it was what I needed. This book gave me all types of chills, like the last two did. I think about of the BDSM things that were going on, which is so exciting to read about. The book was such a sweet one. Dreama comes back after being away for almost a year, at the end of book 2 she gets attacked and almost dies. She goes back to work, has a supervisor who doesnt like her, meets Cash who is her Parolee, we end up finding out hes into that lifestyle she loves so much, and the way they find that out is too steamy to be up on my review, haha. And how she helps to clear his name and how he helps her with her phobia since her accident was enough to make me fall in love with their story. I had to take breaks in between, I hope there is a book 4...

book 3 in the forbidden lovers series, for his pleasure, finds dreama agosto trying to reclaim her life after a violent attack. the first day on the job she meets cash turner, a recent parolee on her caseload. if only he wasn't the first person to spike awareness and desire in her. if only she weren't terrified of being touched by a man. if only that wasn't at odds with her submissive, masochistic nature.

cash recognizes that need for submission in dreama. he knows it's impossible to act on it. but when they run into each other at a sex club all bets are off. he knows that he's the perfect dominant to soothe dreama's broken soul and bring her to the perfect state of submission her body needs.

when dreama notices discrepancies in cash's file, they both start asking questions in order to figure out why cash was railroaded into a plea deal, and suddenly they find themselves in real danger. but figuring out whether it's dreama's past or cash's that's the root source of the problem is going to take some doing.

the blend of sex and suspense really works here, and this was just as enjoyable a story as the first two installments in the series.

For His Pleasure by Shelly Bell is book Three in the Forbidden Lovers Series. This is the story of Dreama Agosto and Cash Turner. I do feel you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Cash was sent to jail for manslaughter for 8 years for something he didn't do. Now he is out on parole and his new parole officer is Dreama. Dreama has returned to work after being brutally attacked which still causes issues in her life whenever a man tries to touch her. But with Cash something is different about him. Cash knows that he needs to keep his nose clean while on parole but there is something more that draws Dreama to him. Besides there attraction that draws them together they start to look into the past to solve the mystery.
Loved their story! Can wait to read more from this author!

Shelly Bell does a terrific job with characters who are struggling. Dreama's physical and emotional issues made her sympathetic and painfully real.

Dreama is the parole officer for Cash, and feels an immediate connection with him. She finds herself looking into his case, as he was charged with a DUI crash that killed his wife and unborn son. But there are inconsistencies in the report,and soon it becomes obvious that someone doesn't want her to dig into the case.

After being badly beaten by an intruder in book two of the Forbidden Lovers series, it is great to see her finding her own happy ending. The scenes where Cash couldn't touch her with her phobia were still very hot. This makes me want to re-read the series again.

This is the story of Cash, and Dreama. If you have read any of the previous books in this series, you would have heard of Dreama, she is a Parole Officer. Dreama is just returning to work, after being attacked a year previous, and her first parolee is Cash, a convicted Murder. Cash is innocent though, and Dreama feels a connection to him Immediately. Can they prove Cash is innocent? and can Dreama keep from getting hurt again?

This was a intense read, the characters are well written, and I loved reading their story, it was emotional, sexy, passionate, suspenseful, mysterious, and captivating. This is a must read.

This was probably my favorite of the series. I loved the mystery behind Cash’s imprisonment and the heat between Dreama and him. Dreama is scared of a man’s touch after her attack, but desperately wants Cash’s touch. He helps her overcome her fear by respecting her boundaries and she helps him figure out his past and what happened the night of his accident.

There was a slow burn due to them not being able to touch, and the relationship was a lot more real since they had to spend more time getting to know one another. I really wanted more sexy times, but was still happy with the story.

Dreama is trying to get her life back after being attacked. Cash is recently out of prison, for a murder he didn’t commit. Dreama is Cash’s parole officer and sparks soon fly between them. Dreama begins looking into Cash’s case and when she and Cash begin to investigate women start dying where Cash works. Will they find out the truth? Fast-paced read with great characters, lots of depth, great chemistry and a story that really draws you in. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!

Although I did see the one twist pretty early on for Cash, Ryder and Finn, I loved this book. Out of the series Dreama and Cash are my favorite.

I think my only complaints would be that I wanted something to happen to Meg. I wanted her to be involved some how and not just as a stupid bitch. I also kind of wanted Maddie to be involved somehow.

Even though he had a love story, I kind of want Finn to get a second chance. If you read book two, you know what I’m talking about. It doesn’t seem fair.

All in all, I loved this story. I felt for Dreama and her anxiety and I felt for Cash and how he was wronged. I kind of knew the ending before it happened, but that tends to happen in romance stories. You can kind of see the conflict. And I like that about them. I can fall for the characters and enjoy the smut, but not have to think too deeply about the plot and twists.

Mein Fazit:

Vorweg sei gesagt, dass es sich bei jeder Rezension um meine persönliche Meinung handelt. Das neue Cover ist echt schön, auch wenn ich mich jetzt ärgere dass es nicht zum Rest der bisher erschienenen Bücher passt. Ich finde es nie gut Cover einer bereits bestehenden Reihe zu ändern. Es handelt sich bei den ersten beiden Büchern um eine Neuauflage die bereits in den Jahren 2018/2019 erschienen sind. Ich habe mir damals schon gewünscht dass auch der dritte Teil übersetzt wird. Leider ist für mein Empfinden wahnsinnig viel Zeit zwischen zweiten und dritten Teil vergangen. Dadurch hat ich große Startschwierigkeiten mich in das Buch einzufinden. Ich habe daher noch einmal die Stelle über Dreamas Vergangenheit in Band zwei gelesen, zumal sie dort viel ausführlicher beschrieben wird als im dritten Teil. Ich hätte es besser gefunden wenn man das aus Buch zwei in ihrem Buch noch einmal als Rückblick einfließen lässt. Der Schreibstil ist flüssig und so hatte ich das Buch relativ zügig ausgelesen. Die erotischen Szenen halten sich relativ im Hintergrund was ich aber eigentlich ganz gut fand. Für mich war das Buch ein bisschen wie ein Achterbahnfahrt. Ein Auf und Ab. Hab ich mich am Anfang etwas schwer getan, hat das Buch zur Mitte Fahrt aufgenommen, einige Zeit später ist es wieder etwas abgeflacht um zum Ende noch einmal alles rauszuholen. Die Protagonisten waren mir größtenteils sympathisch. Da ist zum einen Dreama, die wirklich schreckliches durchmachen musste. Es ist bewundernswert wie sie sich wieder aufgerappelt hat. Dreamas Vergangenheit hat mich sehr bewegt, daher fand ich es sehr schade dass in ihrem Buch nicht groß darauf eingegangen wurde. Ihre Chefin Meg fand ich unmöglich. Ich hätte ihr echt am liebsten den Hals umgedreht. Wie kann ein Mensch nur so boshaft sein. Cash mochte ich auch sehr. Ich hab ihn als sehr verständnisvoll und gleichzeitig beschützerisch empfunden. Das ein oder andere war für mich etwas vorhersehbar. Viel weiter möchte ich gar nicht auf den Inhalt eingehen, da ich sonst Gefahr laufen würde zu spoilern. Für mich im Großen und Ganzen ein gelungenes Finale mit kleinen Schwächen. Ich empfehle die vorherigen Bände auch zu lesen um dieses Buch besser zu verstehen. Die komplette Reihe bekommt von mir auf jeden Fall eine Leseempfehlung.

Es darf noch nicht zu Ende sein!

Warum habe ich mich für das Buch entschieden?
Bereits die ersten beiden Teile der Buchreihe Forbidden Lovers habe ich gefressen. Ich kann nicht genug von Shelly Bell bekommen!

Leider ist der Kristall weg, stattdessen sieht man eine goldene Flüssigkeit, was mich jetzt nicht so begeistert. Auch hatte ich Probleme dieses Buch als dritten Teil zu erkennen, da zwischenzeitlich der Titel wohl geändert wurde…

Inhalt:
Dreama ist Bewährungshelferin und soll Cash Turner unterstützen, sich wieder zu sozialisieren. Sie beginnt schnell, mehr in Cash zu sehen und ist sich sicher, dass er unschuldig ins Gefängnis musste. Auch Cash fühlt sich direkt zu ihr hingezogen. Können Sie gemeinsam das Geheimnis um jene Nacht klären?

Handlung und Thematik:
Wer davon ausgeht, dass auch in diesem Band BDSM und packende Aktion vereint werden, der wird nicht enttäuscht. Wie bereits gewohnt ist auch dieses Buch von Shelly Bell wieder mitreißend und gefühlserweckend, diesmal im Bewährungshelferumfeld. Auch hier muss man die beiden vorangegangenen Bücher nicht gelesen haben, um die Handlung zu verstehen, aber es hilft ungemein Dreamas Vorgeschichte und die anderen Charaktere kennenzulernen.

Charaktere:
Dreama mochte ich bereits aus den Vorgeschichten und ich war gespannt auf ihre Perspektive. Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht und auch Cash konnte mich begeistern. Durch ihre Auftritte in den Büchern zuvor hat mich Dreama sogar am allermeisten von allen Charakteren in den Forbidden Lovers Büchern mitgenommen. Es fiel mir sehr schwer, mich am Ende des Buches von den Charakteren verabschieden zu müssen.

Schreibstil:
Von der ersten bis zur letzten Seite packend und mitreißend mit einem erotischen Prickeln und Tränen am Ende, wenns vorbei ist. Der Schreibstil von Shelly Bell führte dazu, dass ich die Bücher gefressen habe. Perfekte Perspektiven, Charaktere die sich wie reale Freunde anfühlen und eine super spannende Handlung. Für mich die perfekte Kombination aus allem vereint und beim letzten Buch genauso wie beim ersten. So sollte eine Buchreihe geschrieben sein.

Persönliche Gesamtbewertung:
Es darf noch nicht zu Ende sein, ich will wieder zurück! Ich wollte ein bisschen Unterhaltung und bekam prickelnde Erotik, vielseitige Charaktere und eine spannende Handlung. Klare Leseempfehlung und eine Bitte an die Autorin, dass sie bald wieder so eine Buchreihe rausbringt!
