A collection of short essays on children--featuring the author's famous poem "A Prayer for Children"--runs from humorous observations on family life to moving stories about children suffering the effects of war and illness. Reprint. 35,000 first printing.
This is a sweet, encouraging, witty collection of essays about children, written by a dear friend’s mom 30 years ago. I have been reading one or two in the mornings for several weeks & enjoying the touching, inspiring & delightful stories.

I defy you not to be moved by the title piece by this columnist.
The other sections of the books may not resonate with everyone, some do speak more to parents. However, there are still nuggets to be mined. Many collections of pieces by local columnists start to wear because they are tied to closely to the town covered, Ina Hughes' work avoids this.
