I find this middle grade story quite endearing and heartwarming.

A little schoolgirl trying her best in a futuristic world where water gets so scarce and there's no possibility of rain for the past few decades.

It's almost like a dystopian world in India where water has to be bought and you do your utmost best to savour a drop of water.

The possibility of seeing rainfall is quite a faraway dream but our main character dreams of making it possible to make her dying grandfather smile once before he leaves the world.

I find it quite fascinating how the author dealt with death and grief with such sensitivity and maturity in a middle grade book.

I find the ending quite satisfying even if it gets predictable and quite convenient for the main character.

There's issues of bullying, discrimination and social media handled in the plot. I would say it's okay but I find the progress in the story quite unrealistic at times.

But yes, a good read in the end putting all things together.

I love the new book cover!

This is one of my favorite books!

The plot is very interesting. The prologue is uniquely written to explain the setting. The characters are lovable and cute! Grampa's childhood story is very heartwarming. This is the kind of book that I'll remember forever✨.

The story is really exciting. I read the last nine chapters in one go because it became "unputdownable". Through the whole story you keep asking just one question:
"Will Anoushqa be able to make it rain or not?"

This is a kids book but I would definitely recommend this to all adults because it's just so good! I made my mom read this and she loved it!

Although this book tells us about the importance of water, The main message this book gives is that:

"You can be of any age and still bring a change into the world"

Also the edition I have has such a beautiful cover! 💙

"Silver drops of heaven touching the green grass and forming transparent little white pellets on the leaves of plants that had long disappeared"

The little rainmaker is a beautiful story of a 10 years old girl whose wish for her "Grampa" brings happiness for the whole world.

This book is a really good for young readers, middle grades and adults as well. It is a cute story about friendship, family-love , mutual trust, love , understanding among comrades and respect for elders. In today's world with depleting families, this book can be seen as an inspiration for all the people depicting how a little girl's love for her grandfather and her wish to see him happy is so pure.❤❤

The novel, sets in future in the year 2028 with a scenario that it didn't rained since last 10 years. People are bound to save single drop of water as human can only afford to have water for drinking purpose and nothing else(**in one part of the story,it has been told that a bottle of 50ml water is available for general public to use that too cost Rs.50 and with a limited consumption terms...that is wasting is not allowed at all*). Technology advances and so the global warming in atmosphere that leads to terrible condition of living. In this story, the grandfather of the Protagonist is a story-teller for her and is very much fond of rain that he usually used to tell stories related to rain. After having a horrible day at school and getting to know that her grandfather has very little time left, she vows to make it rain as soon as possible for her grandfather.
She contacts scientist first who tells her about the reality and risk that she is facing right now. To get her work done, she took the help of social media to be recognized by PM but all goes in vain. She then hunts for a backup plan through Magic (who she gets to know throughnewspaper) . Meanwhile there was a not-so environment friendly project , by the name HD mall, was going which is built by her classmate's father. She did her best to make it all the projects(scientists, magic and mall) .
All of the people working-hard on the desired day to make it rain and thus everyone's wish was fulfilled by the Nature as it rained finally.

"Some dreams do come true....."🙂

-> The other parts which I love in this book is proper use of social media for the right cause, trust among friends, and never being so self-centered as nature has its own way to equalize. It also tells that having proper communication with family members i.e. among parents and children can helps to overcome any difficulties. 👏👍👍

**the new version of the book with beautiful cover and cute illustrations is a very wholesome read. I just love it.

It was a really memorable time to reread my first book after 6 years. It was like collecting all the parts of book together.I alot relish this book......because like grandfather I too just love rain alot .......it swings my bleak mood to joyful,it voices and the view of cloud and place....oh mine I just love it!......And will be discouraged if rain doesn't fall on earth.....The author view of point to things which will take place if heats extend to much on earth....I also love to appreciate author for showing such a pure love bond between anoushqa and her grandfather, the things children experience in school times, friendships, making dreams true for ur love ones and giving quick reminder of life through grandfather rules!!....It's alot fun to remember old good times.....Will be always my amaziest book of childhood!!

They say STRONG ROOTS GIVE BEAUTIFUL LEAVES 🍁
And I completely agree to it ... in today’s fast paced world 🌍 this is what exactly our kids need we need .
Yesterday my son had his annual day in school and they had a musical play on the theme of evolution where the bottom line message for parents was the same. Confused ? Well let me explain.
In today’s world 🌍 we all are so busy in our so called tech life that we are quickly heading towards our own and especially our kids destruction. Scared right ?
But isn’t this the truth ? Have you ever imagined what would happen if the rain stopped forever ? Well ,
We will all have a tech support life but will that be a life actually?
When we will tell our kids there used to be water and how we loved splashing in the water and make paper boats won’t we be sad that we can’t give the same carefree life to our kids ?
But then , if there is a hope there is a wish and there is willingness for a great cause then all this can change ... @roopal_kewalya The little rainmaker talks about all this and more . The story is so beautifully written and is so heart warming and touches one’s soul .( this book made me cry and I missed my grandpa)
The protagonist Anoushqa is a strong willed and with a never give up attitude and above all a big heart and loves her grandpa a lot.
and all this is because of her grandpa who is wise , strong , inspiring and most of all loves to tell stories and has a rule book too .. ( I could relate to this bond cos I too was blessed with a wonderful grandpa who was just like Anoushqa’s grandpa) (swipe to see my dadu pics) (This book took me back to my childhood days where I spent most of time with my grandparents) this book makes one realise how important it is for grandkids to have grandparents. The book also talks about friendship & care & how imp it is to give back to society .
It also talks about how if we believe in ourselves and have a goal with a good deed then the whole world slowly unites with us to achieve it. It’s Christmas time and is a beautiful read for the season and will recommend each and everyone to read especially adults. We absolutely loved this book

Anoushqa the Protagonist is a 10 years old beautiful and intelligent girl. She loves her story teller Grampa so much and sometime she miss her dog Pixie who is in heaven now. Her Grampa is so ill and will not live longer. So Anoushqa wants to fulfill her Grampa’s one last wish and that is ,he wants to feel the rain and Rainbow before dying. Yes they are living in 2028 and from last 10 years it hasn’t rained yet. People don’t call it water, they called it H2O. Due to dry air and sun heat you can’t leave your house without sun saver and gadgets. Now Anoushqa is stubborn enough to take this as challenge with lots of back up plan. And those initiatives that 10 years old took was so heart melting and will give us lessons for sure. But will she be able to fulfill her Grampa’s last wish? Well i will suggest you to read this book to know more.

Review : At first you will be confused to consider this book for which genre. I must say it’s perfect blend of Children book, Sci-fi, Fantasy . The storyline is so good, characters that made by Author Roopal is upto the mark, with simplistic twists, simple words and so beautifully written. Life lessons given by Grampa was outstanding and inspiring (Even Thoughts provoking too). You will see another world with the eyes of a 10 year old. Perfect read for kids and they should know the value of Nature, how to save our Environments before destroying. Thanks a lot PENGUIN RANDOM HOUSe and Roopal Rashomoni Kewalya for sending me this beautiful advance copy of this book. I would love to rate this book 4.5 out of 5. Highly recommended....

I don't know how to start but its a bit scary to think of the world as described in this book. It may become true some day but I really would love it if the future generations too would enjoy some of the nature and luxuries that we take for granted. I want to become a grandparent who not only enjoy telling stories from my time but would also dance and get drenched in rain.

The author has made a fantabulous job of captivating our thoughts throughout with the book with some of our faults and how the future generations have to pay for this. She has woven this suspense of rain till the last and has emotionally captured it with a lovely grandpa grandkid relationship. Good read not just for the kids but for adults alike.

This book is awesome! Between a Grandpa on his deathbed to friendships at school, 10-year-old Anoushqa has a lot going on. It has not rained for a little over a decade now and her beloved Grandpa’s last wish is to see rain just one more time. This book is heartwarming yet sad. How will she get the money to fulfil this wish, his will she do it? ” oh Grandpa why couldn't you have wished for something else?”

Suitable for upper primary to lower secondary level.

The setting of the book is in the not so distant future with a parched earth as a backdrop to this beautiful story.

A beautiful story about one girl's belief to make rain and the courage to follow it true for the sake of her grandfather who had fallen ill.
If you like the book "Number the Stars", I believe you will like this book.

The book is a very good exemplar of the water crisis that is coming soon,
the heart of the little rainmaker is as pure as the heart of the rain itself.
Very good attempt by the Author, it simply asks us to be conscious and thinking about Water
