Alright so this wasn’t for me AT ALL. I don’t usually mind an age gap and technically by law their romance isn’t considered illegal by the standards of the manga but I still find it weird that they get married when she’s only 16. I also just didn’t find the story to be that entertaining. The main character is actually quite annoying and unreasonable. I got this from KU out of curiosity but it’s not one that I plan to continue to read.

What a moronic shoujo. I don't recommend it to anyone. The MC is lame and an idiot, the police officer is a creep who want to get married at 23 to a 16-year-old crybaby after a couple of days meeting each other for the first time. The "love story" is disgusting and in all, I hate the stupid girl. I managed to finish it (scan-reading it) only because of the upcoming live action, which I hope with all my heart is not going to be as pathetic as the original story. BLEH.

Extremely innocent shoujo with characters who are healthy and happy, no major trauma or angst. Recommend for those new (or young) to romance and shoujo manga. The emotions are true and compelling; the art and dialogue are crisp and entertaining. I had a few flutters.
Ultimately, for me, it was a fail. More mature readers and those looking for something grittier will quickly grow bored, because it never progresses past its sweet, gentle surface.

A really sweet and fun age-gap shoujo series! If age-gap romance isn’t your thing, this story might seem creepy and weird, BUT if age-gap romance is your thing, then you’ve come to the right place! The characters are fun at first, but then become more dynamic as you read into the series, making you care for them and their relationships. It’s a quick read that you’ll have a hard time putting down!

Après avoir été intriguée par la couverture, le titre et le résumé de ce manga, j’ai fini par me laisser tenter et le commander. Autant vous dire tout de suite que j’ai bien fait !
Kako et Mikado, deux adolescentes de 16 ans vont participer à une soirée de rencontres. Le souci c’est que ce sont les deux seules de cet âge et tous les autres invités ont plus de 20 ans.
Notre héroïne va donc faire la connaissance de Jouta, un jeune homme de 23 ans mais qui est surtout policier. Quand ce dernier découvre que Kako est encore mineure, il va tout de suite vouloir s’éloigner d’elle, surtout que vu son métier il doit encore plus respecter la loi…
Si le début de l’histoire reste un shôjo classique, j’ai été surprise par la tournure que prennent les événements dans le dernier chapitre.
J’ai aussi beaucoup aimé les dessins. Il me semble que c’est le premier manga des éditions Delcourt/Tonkam que je lis mais pense me pencher un peu plus sur leur catalogue étant donné que celui-ci m’a convaincue !
Un début qui m’a bien plu ! Je me ferai un plaisir de me procurer le tome à sa sortie le 16 mai prochain ! ♥

September 1, 2019Cela risque d'être étonnant, comme en général le reproche fait aux shojos est l'inverse, cependant leur histoire d'"amour" va beaucoup trop vite. Ils ne se connaissent même pas. De plus j'ai eu beaucoup de mal avec la façon dont elle a conçu son personnage masculin, car son caractère le décrédibilise totalement en tant qu'adulte et que cela casse le sujet de la différence d'âge.

Well that was a loooooottt! Cute characters and I can see some potential between this couple, but the romance is going so fast! It escalated super quickly and I was pretty shocked by how the story built. Not really a fan of how quickly it moved...may or may not continue with this series. I did like the last chapter in this volume though, so we'll see!

El dibujo no es nada del otro mundo, las escenas son algo caóticas y los bocadillos demasiado grandes. Visualmente, por lo tanto, no es muy atractiva. No obstante, esto no suele ser un gran impedimento para que siga con la historia.
Lo que realemnte me ha desagradado es que en el capítulo 2, poco después de conocerse, ella ya le dice que le quiere. Cuando he llegado al capítulo 3 y él le ha propiesto matrimonio como única opción para que estén juntos... Bueno, diganos que he tenido que abandonarlo.

Leave your realistic self at the door for this one, folks. (You'll see why at the end of chapter three.) This isn't nearly as good as Kodansha USA's other "dudes in uniforms" romance (My Boyfriend in Orange Vol. 1), but it is still fun and decently cute. I like Kako as a heroine more than Kota as a hero, but I like the whole thing well enough to look forward to volume two, my disbelief firmly suspended.

Kako and Kota met a pub. Kako is just a high school student but she pretended over 20 years old. Kota knew a lie and got angry because his job is a policeman. But it’s a start of a romance of student and policeman.
I think this story is unrealistic but it’s a dreamy story. There are no chance to meet a policeman. But I like Kota because Kota is always help and protecting Kako. He is so cool and strong. Kako's emotional ups and downs are erratic.

Great start
Such a great start and I really liked how the cop treated the girl. Things did escalate a little too quickly towards the end, which is unfortunate because I was really loving their interactions so far. However, I'm hopeful that future volumes will continue to take it slow. Overall, I really really enjoyed this volume and will certainly continue reading it.

I find this series to be more endearing than My Boyfriend in Orange, but there’s still the uncomfortable age-gap relationship as well as some ridiculous contrivances. But if Japanese girls want the romantic fantasy of being swept off their feet by men in uniform, then all the power to them. It’s just not particularly for me.

I liked it a lot the beginning was funny but I was so surprised Kouta, being a policeman, needed Kako's help also what he proposed to her was so sudden. I am very interested to know what will happen next.

This was a really cute manga! I really look forward to reading the next volume! This manga was suggested to me by a close friend, and I found it to be quite enjoyable.

It's more like 2.5. Content Warnings: Age-gap marriage between a teenager. Suicidal thoughts. Murder. Mental Illness. Crash dieting. Violence.
This is an age-gap "romance". The manga opens up with Kako and her bestie attending a mixer with the bestie's older sister under the pretense that they are 22 yrs old. Kako meets Kota. It doesn't really look like they talk for a long while. All of it is small talk but apparently it was enough for Kako to start falling for Kota. Kako is like 14/15, first year in high school and Kota is a 23 year old policeman. He cuts things off with Kako before it even begins when Kako lets her real age slip. Kako becomes a bit obsessive and starts popping up at the police station and Kota decides he wants to be with her when neither have had a decent conversation. It's beyond weird because his definition of being together and resolution to their age gap situation is to GET MARRIED. WTF. There was no connection. This manga is extremely similar to My Boyfriend in Orange. I actually like that manga better than this one. This manga does take on more serious topics since, I'm assuming, it deals with the police.
I was irritated with the fact that everyone kept putting Kako down when in reality she was genuine in her decisions, judgement of character and growth. Everyone kept calling her names and just questioning everything she did. A lot of these characters were just not likable. The everyone that I mention are her friends and Kota. The relationship and connection between Kota and Kako was just non-existent. It made no sense for them to get married when they really didn't have much physical interactions. They could have done what they did without getting married which was essentially get to know one another throughout the years. Again, the getting to know one another didn't feel like enough to get married and continue to be married and to finally love one another. Kako showed the most character growth along with one other person and it was because of her genuine belief in him that it happened. You will see Kako and crew go from what we at in the US call freshmen in high school to adults post high school graduation.

I don’t know how I feel about this. I saw the trailer for the movie and was curious so I decided to check out the manga especially since it’s available on my library app. I don’t like that a police officer is preying on a minor. I know that at 16, girls can legally get married in Japan. Man, I wish the mangaka aged her up. She can still be in high school but why first year? I don’t want younger girls reading P to JK thinking this should be the norm. However, the story is total moronic shoujo love and I was quite enjoying it. The plot ran with all the troupes. It’s funny, but I shouldn’t approve. They barely met and to bypass not being able to date her, he suggests they get married. Huh? They don’t even know each other. It’s ludicrous but I’m curious. I still can’t believe the parents particularly the mom since the dad tried at least. Don’t get me started on the friend, smh. I have to: 2/5.

Aside from the dubious age gap of 16 & 23, which is iffy on itself,.. It wasn't until he said "I can't be your boyfriend, but I can marry you", I fell out of my chair.
I stared, said "What..?!" out loud, blinked several times, said "what?!" again, and looked back a page or 2, to see if I missed something. (Followed by some more "What?!?!"s)
I might not be the right target group for this manga. Which is why I won't rate it officially (at this moment. Might change my mind), but apart from the bland storyline, the unlikable main female character (which was a whiny girl), the only thing it had going for it, was the cute 23 yr old cop guy. Right until he said he wanted to marry the 16 yr old, after only seeing each other a handful of times in short & awkward situations. In which the girl kept crying and embarrassing herself.
It literally makes no sense.

For mature readers, the premise may be problematic: a 23 year old police officer proposing to marry a 16 year old so that they could legally "be together"... And her parents barely object.
Suspending judgement on the premise, the plot suffered pacing issues - their relationship progresses at such a ridiculous speed that it seemed like the author was in a rush to just get to the commuter marriage stage.
The manga contains typical shoujo tropes - innocent and naive good girl wins over straight laced mature guy. If you can get passed the premise (and all the problems associated with a 23 year old dating/marrying a 16 year old), the story contains a typical vanilla romance.
I'll try Volume 2 to see whether the author goes any deeper into the characters or issues to make the story more interesting but if not, I don't see myself sticking with this series.
