Paris had changed me.
I wasn’t talking about the city,
I was referring to Paris Jean Kelly.
From the first time we held hands on the school bus to our first kiss, we’d been moving toward one thing, the day I’d ask her to be mine.

How was I to know that she thought friends couldn’t be lovers?
Well…I’m going to prove her wrong.
When her world turns upside down…I’ll be there

description

So again, this one was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I just don't think this series is really my jam.

However, let us start with the positives...

-- Paris was a WAY more likable heroine than London for sure.
-- It had some good relationship angst.
-- It was funny in parts.
-- I do enjoy this author's way fo writing.
-- It was a quick and fast-paced read.
-- The epilogue was sweet.

What didn't work...

-- Neither Paris or Asher acted like 29-year olds. Especially Asher, who out of the blue decided to lay h

Steps on how to truly enjoy Slow Burn:

Step 1: Read Stetson first. This step is vital. I started Stetson and got sidetracked by other books. And I’d been waiting on this one so I automatically dove in, only to feel like I was missing a piece of the puzzle. And it kinda ruined the first one for me, so I’ll probably only go back when I’ve got a slow reading moment. #sadface

Step 2: Sit back and enjoy Slow Burn...cuz you will slowly burn alive with the chemistry that these two have. It’s the cutest t

This is the 2nd book in Danielle Norman's Iron Horse Series. What a terrific friends-to-lovers romance read! I really recommend that you read Stetson before reading Slow Burn otherwise your going to feel lost if you don't.

Paris has always had Asher in her corner since they grew up together and were each other's 1st, yet despite her very deep feelings for him, Paris feels that pursuing a relationship with Asher will ruin their friendship and leave her broken. Asher feels quite differently and has

I will say that Stetson should be read before this, it's book one of the Iron Horse series, and we get introduced to everyone and Slow Burn picks up after Stetson but with Paris and Asher. We found out in book one about the girls' parents and how their mother left, and that the girls' have taken over the ranch and kept things going. Paris' roll in all this was mainly in the house, cooking, cleaning and what not, all the stuff that her mother would have done, the stuff

Asher has been in love with his best friend Paris for years. Now that he is back in town to manage his Dad’s veterinary clinic, he is determined to show Paris that they are much more than friends and what they could have together however when he shares his feelings with her, he is surprised by her reaction and not in a good way.

It has been drilled into Paris since she was a child that friends don’t make good lovers as evidenced by her parent’s relationship. When Asher shares his feelings, she pa

No one can break a heart quite like Danielle Norman. The impact feels brutal, but the emotional purge is empowering. Slow Burn is like a road map to the heart. Asher and Paris are a bundle of insecurities fighting to become whole. Paris sees the world with the damaged heart of a seven year old girl doing her best to be perfect. Asher is the kind of man, who wants to be happy and is willing to take the hard road to get there. What happens when forever comes calling but doubt has you too scared to ...more

Terrific friends-to-lovers romance!

This story starts off on an exciting note, with the birth of London and Braden's baby, which prompts Paris to reminisce about her own relationship with the mother who abandoned her and her sisters.

Paris has always had Asher in her corner, but despite her strong feelings for him she believes that pursuing a relationship with him will ruin their friendship and leave her heartbroken. Asher, on the other hand, has been waiting for Paris for years, knowing since ch

Asher Kinkaide fell in love with Paris Kelly when they were children. They’ve been best friends for years and Asher would do anything for Paris. But, when he finally works up the courage to declare his love for her, things don’t go quite as planned.

Paris Kelly loves Asher, but as friends only. She doesn’t believe that friends can have a successful marriage . . .after all, her mom walked out on their family after she said the same thing. But when Asher starts maintaining his distance after Paris

Sometimes you do not realize what you have when it is standing right in front of you. Although this is the second book in the series it can be read as a standalone, however I recommend reading the previous book to really understand the life of the Kelly family. Asher has been in love with Paris since they were young. Paris has been holding out for the feeling of the “all consuming” love that one is supposed to feel but due to her parents failed marriage, she has put up walls to keep Ash

I absolutely love this series!!

I've read quite a few of Danielle Norman's stories, but the Iron Horse series has quickly become one of my favorites. The first book, Stetson, was really good, but Slow Burn was even better. I adore the sisters--London, Paris, and Holland--and the connection I've made with them. Slow Burn is Paris and Asher's story, a friends to lovers romance that will grab hold of your heart almost immediately.

I love Paris so hard and admire the motherly approach she has. And th

The second book in the Iron Horse Series. I highly recommend reading Stetson first, which makes it more easier to understand Slow Burn.
This is Paris and Asher's story. Its a beautifully told story full of romance an heart. Paris and Asher has been best friends from the time they were toddlers. Now they are both grown and have maintained that friendship and closeness they both shared.

Slow Burn is the second book in the Iron Horse series and follows Paris and Asher. I would very strongly recommend reading book 1, Stetson, prior to reading Slow Burn as it gives a lot of the back story needed.

Asher and Paris have been inseparable their entire lives. Paris is waiting for her once in a lifetime, fireworks when kissing, shoot for the moon, fairy tale love story. She wants the moon, the stars, and the sun. What she doesn't realize, is that Asher would gladly give her all that and

I am liking this new series by Ms Norman. I would caution to read Stetson before starting Slow Burn because they have some references from Stetson in this book. Asher and Paris had been inseparable from almost birth. They were each other‘s first in so many ways- first kiss, first date and so on. Paris didn’t see what was right in front of her, she was waiting for the epic love that book and Disney movies are written about. Asher his been in love with Paris since middle school and the scare they ...more

4 STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review

I want to start off by saying I love Danielle Norman. I sincerely enjoy reading her books. This book, just missed the mark a little for me. You must read Stetson first. We get an introduction the everyone in that book as well as background on the family. I was super excited for Paris' story. But, it missed the mark for me. I'm having a hard time lately with books where the characters are supposed to be adults, but act more like children. That's wh

Aptly named, Slow Burn is by far the best slow burn romance I’ve ever read. Typically I’m not the biggest fan of a slow build into something, but Paris and Asher’s chemistry along with their history makes for a story that quickly pulls you in. I loved the sweetness of the relationship these two had when they were just friends and that only got better once Paris realized what had been right in front of her the whole time.
After meeting these sisters in the first book, Stetson, I have to admit I d

I love the girls in this Iron Horse Series They are strong and feisty and i love the men that finally break down their walls.

I was looking forward to Paris and Asher's story, they were so obviously meant for each other when we saw them in London's story Stetson. They know each other so well, they are like a couple without the romance.

Only criticism i have is that there was such a long build up to Paris and Asher finally getting together you don't see much of them actually together, BUT saying

Make sure to read book one of this series before you start this one. Then prepare yourself for the poignant, roller coaster ride that this book take your emotions on. It is a friends to lovers romance that is both powerful and tender at the same time. These characters very quickly captured both my attention and a piece of my heart. I liked both Asher and Paris. If I had one complaint it was that they both were written as more immature than I would have expected but maybe their insecurities and ...more

This is the second book in the Iron Horse series. While it could probably be read as a standalone, I recommend reading Stetson (book one) first to get a feel for the characters and their dynamics.
I wasn't sure going into this book how I would feel about it. The first book was just ok to me, but I think that had more to do with the characters. Paris is more soft spoken than London so I more easily connected with her.
I was hooked right away with the prologue that had me in tears, but was laughin

They have been through everything together and have been there for each other as well. It is recommended you read Stetson prior to reading Slow Burn, or Stetson will be quite ruined. That being said, I enjoyed reading Slow Burn, as I do all of Danielle Norman books. I liked Paris and Asher together and their story of growing up together. But I do wish more was said about the times they were growing up. Asher had always claimed to love Paris, but it was clear they had both been with other people sexually, so I wanted a history of that. I don't think Asher's character was developed ...more

Once again another amazing story by Danielle

This is book 2 in the series but can be read as a standalone.

Asher has loved Paris since they were little but he always kept his feelings to himself. He would do anything for her and was always there for her but Paris just thought they were best friends.. When Asher decides to tell Paris how she feels how will she react? Paris has always felt like having the friendship before their marriage is what made her mom walk away. Can she put that aside for Ash

I love this one. Danielle Norman knows how to write fantastic romance. I love the dynamic between Paris and Asher. Asher is so patient with Paris as she works through everything she is in denial over. Holland and London work hard to rally around Paris when a blast from there past decides to come rolling back into their lives. Paris is sweet and a little too trusting but you can't help but to love her for it anyways. Asher has been this force in the Kelly sisters lives forever and you just know h ...more

New release from the always wonderful Danielle Norman.

Slow Burn is not a rough raw hit it hard sex story; it is it's title....a love story, a story of love that spans a lifetime. It's also a story of the mistakes we all make in making decisions with our heads and our hearts. We follow our heart when we should listen to our head and we decide with our head and ignore our heart. But if you figure out what you need you can really have the dream.

This is a story of what every woman wants, even if he
