I love the covers for this series and how each one relates to each story. Take a good look at this cover. It shows the story in such a fun way.

When Paulie, a friend of Fred’s, is arrested for murder, she offers to help in any way she can. She’d investigate all leads. And take care of Paulie’s two crazy Corgi’s, Flotsam and Jetsam. Watson is quite put out. You see, being the laid back dog that he is, he’s never warmed up to these dogs, Sure, their Corgi’s, but they’re so exuberant and out of
Anna's Herding Cats
Well I didn't guess that! I love when I have basically no clue and a nice twist is thrown at me.

The Gist: Fred's pet store owning semi-friend has been attacked! Left for dead in his own store. And a customer murdered! But it's not enough to just take care of his wild corgis while he's in the hospital. Nope, Fred is going to start ruffling feathers and asking questions.

Fred grows on you. She has quirks, she's not perfect. Sometimes a little too stubborn or head strong. But the girl is

This is such a fun, and entertaining mystery. The characters are intriguing, not to mention Watson, the corgi. The mystery kept me guessing with plenty twists. This is such a great mystery series, well worth reading.

I’m really not much of a cozy mystery reader but after reading book one I have been hooked. Partly it’s Watson, since I am an animal lover though I’ve never had a corgi but I love his attitude and the way he and Fred communicate. Fred is the sort of strong female character I like to see and her strength and independence are sorely tested in this episode. There’s a highly unusual murder for Fred to puzzle out with a surprising outcome on a couple of fronts.

Hints of more trouble to come in Estes

These books. They're so comfy and cute and easygoing, and after six books, the characters are starting to feel like old friends.

There was an abundance of Watson this time around, which is never a bad thing (though the note at the end about his real-life inspiration will make you cry), and the rest of the ever-growing ensemble, from Fred to Katie to Paulie to Susan to Branson to Myrtle and beyond, all get moments of growth and change; that's no easy task when there are dozens of characters to

Estes Park is rapidly becoming to the US what Midsomer is to the UK. A notorious place to live in especially if you want to stay alive.
As Fred and Sgt Branson Wexler's romance heats up she discovers another murder which puts their relationship under strain.
Another enjoyable read, well balanced between lighthearted and more serious moments.

A Mystery within a Mystery

I debated about the 4 stars because I have read all the books in this series. The stories are about a young 30ish woman who has pushed the reset button on her life. For those of us that have started over its easy to relate to a lot of her reactions to the people & events in her life. This story is a lead in to future stories. There are unfinished, unexplained, and unexpected parts of her life, both present, past, and future that the main character is dealing with.

Winifred (Fred) and her companion Winston are happy to celebrate the 4th of July, bringing together friends of two and four-legged variety to enjoy the holiday. Owner of the Cozy Corgi Bookshop and Bakery, Fred is solidly settled into her life in Estes Park, with several friends, a boyfriend-ish relationship and the amusement provided by Winston. And then her friend Paulie is left for dead in his pet store, while a customer is murdered Fred’

CHAOTIC CORGIS opens with Estes Park in the height of summer tourist season. The beautiful mountain town, which Fred and Watson have adopted as their home is bursting with shoppers, ice cream eaters, and of course filled with the friends they have made in the past nine months. Some are a part of their daily lives like Katie in the Cozy Corgi bakery, always ready with a stash of natural dog bone treats for Watson and an irresistible selection of pastries for Fred. Flotsam, Jetsam…and Watson (an audio review)

I have become a corgi fan through reading this series and this book made me grateful I only have one dog. After Paulie is injured in an attempted murder, Fred finds herself agreeing to care for his two corgis. Add her own Watson and trying to solve a murder and the woman is pretty busy. And while Watson is well-trained (although at times resistant to obeying – he is one stubborn dog), Flotsam and Jetsam are a bit on the crazy side. So…chaotic times all

I love that we start out with a rude awakening by two tiny ears and a little black nose, demanding attention.

Fred is Watson’s mom and she takes very good care of him, spoiling him with treats.

When Winifred Page moved to Estes Park, she knew it was the right thing. Throw in a hunky sheriff who has the hots for her and the occasional murder amongst friends, what more could she ask for?

I love cozies for their feel good fun and quirky characters, with mysteries that are light on the gruesomeness and
Whether you have read the previous mysteries in this series or this is your introduction to Fred and Watson you will be quickly drawn into the descriptive beauty of Estes Park and the charm of the shops along main street. The assortment of characters that make up Fred's family and the quirky shop owners who all expect her to get involved in solving a crime against one of their own will keep you turning pages. This is a series for animal lovers and those who appreciate a none too simple cozy ...more
This series is more interesting now. I guess that's because the characters have been developed. It's rather . . . cozy.

Paulie is stabbed and a woman murdered at Paulie's pet store. But the crimes don't add up. Branson once again warns Fred from being involved. Fred disregards that advice. But she's off througout her "investigation".

It's interesting. I have finally figured out something about this series; it's slow. Not much action takes place. There's some visiting, a murder, some more visiting,

It's summer and the tourists have flocked to Estes Park, Colorado. For the new bookshop and bakery, The Cozy Corgi, business is booming. Winifred (Fred) Page and her business partner, Katie are overwhelmed but luckily hired two twins to aid them in their stores.

Everything is wonderful, until, Fred and Watson happen upon a grisly scene at their local pet store. Life is now going to change in the small town. Was it a local or an out of towner that caused this crime? And, why?

Winifred Page, known as Fred is here again with Watson her fussy corgi whose circle of friends is growing. Ben who now also works in the bookshop has become one of Watson’s close buddies. Nick, Ben’s twin is working in the bakery upstairs with Katie and they are creating wondrously irresistible treats, keeping up with demand now that there are four hands baking. This is a book that will keep you guessing and trying to put the puzzle pieces together.

Cats, corgi and birds

Fantastic. A new couple who are cat mad move into their small community. When the wife is murdered and Paulie critically injured she starts looking into the case. Her hunky police officer tells her in no uncertain terms to butt out. Stunned by his attitude she resolves to keep looking. Was there a reason why the two were targeted? If so what was it? A brilliant plot that wove a great number of suspects and motives into the storyline. Whilst the characters are getting to be

Fun mystery adventure

I love this corgi. The mystery is not one that you can guess, so that I really like. The main character really has some major anger issues and behaves toward the officer the way she hated her ex and best friend behaved. She likes Leo because he agrees with her. Maybe she should have become PI or a policeman instead of a bookstore owner. I am not sure that her father would agree with her behavior the way she acts toward everyone thinking she is superior to everyone including

While I have enjoyed this series and the murderous adventures of Fred and Watson, I feel like this book has slowed in development of the characters - in particular, Fred. I had hoped she would gain a little more 'mature' approach to being told to back down to the investigation of the murders. Instead, she pushes forward. Ultimately, it's a good thing because she's a lot quicker than the police force can be; but, it is too pushy for my liking. Watson's personality, even as a dog, continues to ...more

My daughter gave me this book because I love corgis and cozy mysteries. We had a snow day today from school and after I gave the dog two walks and did some advance cooking for the week I snuggled with our dorgi (half corgi half dachshund) and did not get out of the chair until I finished it! It was a little challenging to keep everyone straight at first because there are clearly many books that came before this one. But I came to care for the characters quickly and the ending completely

These books are not masterpieces. They are fun and easy reading. I plan to read them all. They are a great escape from politics of today. I am so tired of hear quid pro quo.. The sick game of tit for tat committed by the most powerful man in the world is beyond embarrassing. He has even been called out by a 16 year old Swedish teen age girl. This is his legacy. Get him out! Corgis would herd him out of the White House. He always holds press conférences with a helicopter wasting fuel as he shouts ...more

Just when Fred and Branson’s romance is heating up, they hit a bump as another murder shakes the town of Estes. My emotions were all over the place with Fred passionately trying to track down the culprit while tensions rise with the police department. I still had fun catching up on my favorite town’s residents while meeting some new ones and enjoying the onset of the tourist season. The mystery was a little more in depth and took a few twists which I always love. This was another cozy mystery ...more

Abbott/ chaotic corgis

This series was series 6. Another day for Fred and watson her corgi. This time involved the mysterious friend name Pauline who runs the pet shop , someone try to kill him, and kill one of his patrons in his shop. Sgt. Branson is all mysterious when it comes to Pauline and this crime puts a wedge between Brandon and Fred bidding relationship, I didn't like how it ended between Fred and branson. Hey even I like happy endings. I was heart broken . But Pauline left off telling

The best part of the whole book was Fred got put in her place! I am sorry, I really do like these books but come on Fred spends more time out of the book store that she's "always dreamed of owning" and sticking her nose in everyone's business than she does running it. She's been kicked out of almost every business in town and she was even yelled at by her "boyfriend" . I was really sorry that Paulie got hurt, I really like that guy. ...more

Chaotic Corgis

I have said, several times in other reviews, that each of those books was the best "so far". So I will change to saying that the series gets better with each episode!
I'm really enjoying the characters...plots are well thought out and move smoothly.
We learn a lot about Paulie--I would love to discuss but don't want to spoil the surprises.
We get to know Nick and Ben a bit better and we see Myrtle Bantam in a different role also.
Very enjoyable reading!!
I have loved every book in this series so far, and start on the next one as soon as I finish each one. I am a book-a-holic and I am reading them faster than they are written, so please don't stop writing this series. I will be looking forward to Fred and Watson getting into more situations. One thing that would be a good add-on would be to have more of the recipes at the end. Thanks for the "treat" recipe.

Fabulous read!!!!!

I highly recommend this book & series!! It's a great mystery with some giggles & interesting info. It even got me to check a town out on my nap & goggle. I loved this book even better than the others. I have fallen in love with Watson he is so much like our corgi Maxwell. All the people I like also I want to stroll down that town main street & sit & read & eat sweets. Go to the pet store all of it. If you like cozies please read this series.

In this book, Paulie takes center stage. He probably wishes he hadn't since its because of an unfortunate incident. At any rate, Fred investigates and, as usual, solves the case. There it's a bittersweet quality to this book that made me teary-eyed but I'm hoping all will come out alright in the end. At any rate, I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

What a wonderful series!

I first fell in love with a Corgi through the illustrations of Tasha Tudor. I met the real thing many years later and the love deepened.

Reading these stories as mysteries works by itself, but adding in the antics of Watson and gang makes them irresistible.

Can't stop binge reading!

Five Stars Again

Having been owned by a corgi, Sir Sebastian of Waddlesalot, before I lost him in a freak accident, I understand Mildred Abbot's obsession with this captivating breed. I enjoy cozy mysteries and Mildred's are some of my favorites. Character development, plot and resolutions make these books fun, heartwarming and worth getting hooked on.

Reading the Cozy Corgi series is pretty much all you need to know about Mildred. In real life, she’s obsessed with everything she writes about: Corgis, Books, Cozy Mountain Towns, and Baked Goods. She’s not obsessed with murder, however. At least not at her own hands (nor paid for… no contract killing here). But since childhood, starting with Nancy Drew, trying to figure out who-dun-it has played ...more
