I’m Luciana Wright.

Everyone calls me Lucky, but when it comes to love, I’m anything but.

I have a long history of dating the wrong men.
You know the ones I’m talking about.

The beautiful, charming guys who are quite literally too good to be true.

The ones who are impulsive in love and prefer short flings over long-term relationships.

I’m talking about the jerks.

➳The first part of a romance novel that includes two individuals whom are different in every way, but gets the excitement going with their witty banter...

➳Soooooo... This book actually took me a while to get into... Like seriously, I usually finish a book in two-three days, and this book took me a week to finish. And the reason is because it was honestly really slow. I am not the biggest fan of angsty romances, but there are some that I truly do enjoy. This one however, did not go well with my

Before you start reading my review... please be aware that I might be going on a bit of a rant at the end. The book was still a 4.9-Star-Read for me ... but there are a few tiny little BUTs for me too. So if you're scared of that - just don't read the end of my review ☺

Eeeep - a new Max Monroe Rom-Com Duet! YES!!!

Luciana - Lucky - just broke up with her latest idiot of a boyfriend. It all started as a we'll-stay-friends kind of break up, but it ended rather publicly in Yankees Stadium. LOL.

Don't fall in love. Fall off a fucking bridge. It probably hurts less.

Yessss a new duet from Max Monroe.

Firstly, I don't usually much look at the covers, however this one looks like it should be the cover of a WHAM! Album (sorry Max and Monroe, but he gives off serious George Michael vibes)

I liked the writing style of this book - in the style of transcripts from a podcast.

There were a couple of things though that we were a bit ugh for me. Firstly, Ollie's age.

The concept for this duet is fantastic! This book The Day I Stopped Falling for Jerks is told via the heroines POV as she is telling the story about her relationships via a podcast. The second book will be told in the heroes POV. I don't know how it will be told- whether the podcast method will be used or what- but it will provide the conclusion to the story that many will be craving (I am one of them!). Kudos
“I still couldn’t believe I’d kissed him, you guys! Just straight up, placed my lips to his, slipped my tongue into his mouth, flipping kissed him. Apparently, I needed Jesus. And a nap. And quite possibly a lobotomy.”

OMG! Can I just tell you that every time the ladies of Max Monroe grace us with a new book, I get so damn giddy! I know that I’m about to be incredibly entertained! Their latest, The Day I Stopped Falling for Jerks, is book one in the brand new Jerk Duet and it was INCREDIBLE! In

One of the BEST reads of the year!

Told via a podcast ( a brilliant idea and will make this a hit on Audible) The Day I Stopped Falling for Jerks is sheer book perfection in my eyes. All the right ingredients for my favorite kind of read. Funny, snarky, sexy, fast-paced, and filled with real emotions.

Lucky Wright is very unlucky when it comes to love. She works as a writer for an online magazine, not un-similar to Buzzfeed. Lucky tells us all about her work consisting of two writing jobs. One, a

4.5 "Get Lucky" Stars

I'm going to do things differently with this review. I'm going to take a page out of Lucky's book, I'm pretty sure she won't mind. I'm going to write my own letter to the marvelous duo known as Max Monroe. But before I do and without spoiling anything, I want to tell you, the reader, that The Day I Stopped Falling for Jerks will have you laughing until your stomach hurts. The concept in the way that this book is written an

Addicting and Honest.

That pretty much sums up this one. I was hooked from the start and I will admit that it was a 50/50 split between loving the way the story was being told and finding Lucky to be absolutely charming and real. This book had everything. It was funny, sweet, smexy, swoon worthy and even heartbreaking, but it was real and once I dove in, putting it down wasn’t an option and when the end came I was quite unhappy because I needed more - and thank the powers

The Day I Stopped Falling For Jerks is the charming best friend’s brother / not-quite-enemies-turned-lovers tale of unlucky Lucky and free spirit Ollie. As the saying goes, opposites attract and you couldn’t find two more opposites than Lucky and Ollie. After one too many relationship disasters Lucky has made a promise to herself that she’ll no longer fall for the jerks. But along comes Ollie, who may just be the biggest jerk of them all, and Lucky finds herself doing exactly what she said s

I loved everything about The Day I Stopped Falling for Jerks by Max Monroe. The format and writing was impeccable and original and I devoured it as quickly as I could. This is the second book I have read by this writing duo and all I want to do is go back and read everything they have ever written!

In this book, we meet Luciana Wright, Lucky, who feels unlucky in love. And boy does she have every reason too! I loved, laughed and cringed with every story she shared about the jerks she has dated t

The Day I Stopped Falling for Jerks is my very first Max Monroe book, and... I’m impressed! The way this book was written was so refreshing and unique and just fun. Luciana Wright (aka Lucky), the story’s heroine, is narrating her story and epic encounters through a podcast. I mean, how freaking cool is that? I’ve read books with bouts of text messages or emails, but a podcast? That’s something completely new to me and I absolutely dig it!

This book was addicting. I devoured it, I couldn’t stop reading as soon as I begun. Lucky’s story was captivating.

I’m sure at some point we’ve all felt a little heartbreak, I sure have and this girl, she’s felt it multiple times and you just can’t help feel sorry for her. It’s so sad and it makes your heart ache but damn, she doesn’t let it get her down she just vows to stop falling for jerks, nothing could possibly go wrong, right?

I loved how this story is told. Lucky is telling her side of her many life stories on a podcast and it was like you’re really listening to her except your reading it, obviously. I really like her. There were a lot of parts that had me giggling. She doesn’t have the best track record with boyfriends and it was fun listening to her tell her many crazy stories. Then she meets Ollie. Oh, Ollie. I loved the podcast approach to tell Lucky's side of the story. It was refreshing and spot on. I loved how sassy, strong and driven Lucky was. It was cute to see how she tried to stop her attraction towards Ollie but failed to do so. I could relate to her on so so many levels and I've got to say I'd probably do everything she did if I were in her shoes.

Max Monroe have done it again. I DEVOURED this book. Jesus christ it was such a good read.

I did have a couple of things I didn't like/agree with/feel that they fit with the story, so I'll get those out of the way first.

- Ollie's age - hes 37 in this story, which makes a huge age gap to Lucky (not a huge deal I know), but the character himself didn't feel or sound to me like he was that age. I read him as a lot younger and alot

Love and I are not on the same page. Not even in the same book.

“Lucky” may be her nickname but Luciana is unlucky when it comes to love. She falls for the men who seem to be wonderful but end up being jerks, leaving her broken hearted over and over again. Her latest boyfriend left to go back to Brazil and things ended on a good note. Until she saw him in NYC locking lips with another woman when he was supposed to be out of the country. When her most recent relationship goes belly up in spectacular fashion, she finds herself swearing off jerks for good. This book knocked me off my feet. I was not expecting what I read and I mean that in a totally good way. I am in love with this book. Lucky and Ollie captured my heart the moment they met. First, Ollie, is an Aussie, well say no more. That accent, swoon! You had me at G’day mate. I don’t think he actually said that but you get my drift. Lucky, is the girl every one of us can identify with. She seems to be looking for love in all the wrong places. Or should I say all the wrong people?

What a fun fresh new way to write a book!  It’s essentially the transcript of Lucky's podcast.  As her friend called her “unlucky Lucky” does not have a good track record when it comes to her dating life and it’s about to become a lot more complicated.

In comes one sexy hot “jerk” of a man Ollie.

"The jerk to top all jerks - Ollie."

I’m not going to give you too much detail on the specifics of this book but what I will say is that I like their take on the story telling of this book and how it was told.

Now it did take me a minute to get into this story as it started off a bit slow for me and perhaps I also had to get used to how they choose to tell it. Almost as if your reading a transcript of a podcast which was different and m

I was surprised by this book and what the storyline consisted of, mainly due to the lack of information in the synopsis. There was a lot more to this story than girl meets boy, girl and boy act like they don’t like each other but are really attracted to each other, etc. I really liked the storyline and how the story was told. It is told from Lucky’s POV. It’s written in a podcast format and Lucky is giving her side of the story regarding how she met Ollie and what happens from there. This story ...more

Well I'm glad I was lucky enough (pun intended) to receive an ARC of this. you guys, its good. It's so good. It's got an extremely funny leading lady and a swoony male lead, well he's actually a jerk, but I digress. This book was so well written, you could almost picture yourself there with the characters. From Australia, to Tahiti, to South Africa and back to the states, this book read just like a Romantic Comedy movie.

This was one of the most unique and refreshing books I have read in awhile. The way we are brought in to the story is through a podcast via our lead female character, Lucky.

I really enjoyed this one! If you know me at all you know that I LOVE enemies to lovers and while Ollie and Lucky didn't start out as enemies per se, bad impressions were definitely made!

Lucky is completely unlucky when it comes to love. She's a jerk magnet and she's had enough! When she finds out her last relationship wasn't what it seemed she's depressed and ready to swear off love. That's when a dream assignment of sorts falls into her lap, courtesy of her best friend, Allie. Luck

This is the first of a duet, and thankfully the wait for the second book is short, because I am absolutely ready for it NOW!!!

I have to admit it took me a few pages to get into the first person, podcast style delivery, but it soon became a conversation between me and Lucky. It maybe also be true that I had more empathy to her plight that I should probably admit to! The fascinating bit which will not leave my head is som

The first book in the Jerk Duet is super funny, with a different form of narrative, and the best part is the witty comedy. I love Max Monroe's sense of humor, it makes the story flow in a seamless way.

Lucky is funny and all over the place. It's impossible to feel too bad about her unfortunate romantic past because she makes everything sound so comical. And Oliver, the hero, is a jerk, but deep down he is an amazing guy.

This book is laugh out loud hilarious. The story is told in an unique perspective which I adored. The writing of Max and Monroe keeps getting better and better.

Lucky Wright is a journalist who's love life is nothing to write home about. She seems to have the worst luck in men. Granted she likes the bad boys, but when a guy fake moves out the country to break up with her, its the final straw. She's done with men.
