I'm reviewing THIS book. The short illustrated adaptation.
It is a very short version of Treasure Island. But there was a complete story for a person to follow.
The illustrations were interesting and well done. The story wasn't dry. It entertained the 7 year old it was intended to entertain and it didn't bore me. We had a great time reading it together.
When we didn't finish it the night before it was the first thing he asked of me the next morning.

One should follow the dreams. Even if you have to undergo many hard ships and challenges one should not give up .......

We get the rewards for our hard work in life......

I recommend you to read this book ...........

The story is about a group of sailors who go on an adventure to find some gold. There is also some pirates led by Long John Silver who are also trying to find the gold. The sailors finally found the gold on Treasure Island but they had to fight with the pirates before they could go home with it.

It had been a few years since I read the original classic, so it was fun to revisit this abridged version with my son. He loves pirates and was on the edge of his seat. This is definitely a great version to share with a young one who is interested in the classic tale, but can't sit through the lengthy original.

Love these Usborne Young Reader books for my less confident readers. 📚 They feel like they're reading a 'real' chapter book, but are still able to cope with reading them independently as the language is fairly simple and there's not too much text on each page.
Treasure Island has been great for inspiring some of my boys who have finally found a book that they like!
