I really enjoy reading books for children because I work with children and love to share good books with my intensive readers of which I have many! This is a good share for them because they will love this.

This tale revisits the Oz theme when two young girls climb into a big hollow redwood tree during a scary event. They emerge in another world and start trying to find their way home, but not everyone is helpful and strange creatures abound. I like that the girls quickly start to grow up and make decisions, and have to act fast and use their wits.
This adventure may be somewhat scary for young readers. Reading with an adult would be good for the youngest. Anyone able to read the book by themselves

Very readable middle grade and older story about two cousins trying to get home from a strange land of giants and fairies. The story emphasis is on responsibility and care for family as well as decision making. good characters and interesting dilemmas..
