By far one of my favorite textbooks this year! Very rich text with smart explanatory schemes and gross photographs that helped to digest the enormous amount of info in pathophysiology. As an extra the "clinical course" parts at the end with symptoms and some basic lab findings made it easy to associate with the internal medicine course.
A drawback was that some important subjects that i needed for my exams were not featured on the book e.g. hypotension and arrhythmias in the heart chapter which i had to search for in other books (Harrison's principles of internal medicine).

Great book. There are a handful of books out there that are kind of THE authoritative book. This was one of those. Fascinating the ways the human body can break down. This is one of the great keys to medicine. I should probably read this again someday, but I think I'll spend a few years feeling guilty about it first. And then, one day I'll forgive myself, and just admit that I'll never read it again.

Robbins is kind of a windbag. Good for medical students, but too basic for residents and/or pathologists. The pictures are lackluster and anemic.

A must have for all medical students. Practicing physicians in the primary care specialties should keep a permanent space on the office book shelf for the latest edition.
