It isn’t very hard to fall madly in love with your own wife and even though Durjoy was deeply embedded to this reality and the one his father imposed on him since his childhood, Nadia was already a part of another one. While Durjoy grew as the mad child of the misty hills, close to poetry and his mother, Nadia was the traditional, internally strong-headed woman of a mother ...more

This book is an emotional rollercoaster to be devoured. The love of Durjoy towards Nadia is the plot. The love of Durjoy is immense and unconditional. But Nadia doesn’t feel the same. There are so many letters written by Durjoy to his, Naddiyaa. The letters are from his heart, how he feels towards her and how he wishes her to live in his heart. Such a mind blowing, heart wrenching book.

The feels of Durjoy is felt, when you read the letters. It’s not a forced love, it’s not a shown love but it is

To begin with and to put things in perspective for potential readers and for those who have read the book already, I am certain they would agree to what I am going to say - THIS BOOK DESERVES MORE THAN JUST 5 STARS. IF I COULD GIVE IT MORE I WOULD.

A lot has already been said about the story about the brilliant young, talented Author on the block and there is nothing that I would be able to add more, however, the beauty of this book is the final impression which the reader would take away, the th

A lyrical narrative wrapped in the comely emotion of love, ornamented with wonderful characters and attractive expressions of life, a heartwarming story, a heart-breaking story, a painfully beautiful story – To Naddiyaa.

This book under consideration didn’t make my head but for the very first time, my heart heavy. With each page I turned, with each word I absorbed, with each trace of pain and love I inhaled, my heart ached. It still aches. My heart devoured what was served in between the lines an

"Such was the beauty of women, mad were they for men who were not men enough and yet I wanted to be the man who could see in you what you couldn't see in yourself." 💚This wonderful book is based on what we call as the best and the worst feeling in the world at the same time. It teaches you to be a humble and selfless person but from inside leaves one in pain. That's the power of one-sided love.

And what if those words were beautifully immortalised in letters?

How could you feel?

You know a book is all things great when the entire bookstagram community has given it a 4 or higher rating. Delving into To Naddiyaa I had thought of a book recounting the musings of the writer. Much like the lyrics of a certain retro song, ye raatein, ye mausam, nadi ka kinaara, yeh chanchal hawa, the book reminded me of a beautiful forlorn time where the time stood still and air smelt of love. Every word of the 186 paged novella had something so beautiful wrapped around it’s letters that you ...more

How affable it is to compare your lover to your mother!

It is indeed strenuous to write a love story with little love in it. But Kavya Sharma has penned down the most exotically tragic love story between a husband and wife who could not share the love they’re supposed to until they parted. Her take on life and its uncertainties are serious and sometimes hard to admit. Having read a lot of her poems I expected the book to be as raw and many in-the-face dialogues or incidents in it. But “To Naddiy

The book has been written in lyrical poetic form, with the usage of many metaphors. The only word that first comes to my mind, at the very first instance after reading this book was spellbinding.
I just can’t believe, how beautifully the entire novel has been written, with the storyline revolving only around 4-5 characters. The concept is new and the idea of writing the story in letter format has impressed me quite a bit. The story has been told on part of a mad lover (Durjoy), which travels in f

The cover of To Naddiyaa is very simple and yet so very intriguing. This book was anticipated as I’ve followed Kavya Sharma’s work for quite a while now and I am glad to say my expectations have been met.

To be honest, the initial few pages couldn’t hold my interest but I didn’t want to give up on the author and I plowed ahead and was wonderfully taken in by the story. The plot revolves around a love triangle between a husband, wife and the husband’s brother. My favourite character has to be Dur

Love that lingers in the soul

The world of today needs more love letters than it has already and the novella at hand, To Naddiyaa by Kavya Sharma, is a collection of love letters from a husband ( Durjoy) to a wife ( Naddiyaa) who were stuck in a not so ordinary run-on-the-mill kind of marital relationship.
The second (2nd) sentence of the Author’s note had 11 printed lines to it( scary for some of us) and bang on I knew I am up for a book which will require me to use my head while dealing with the

It took long to reach the finish line for this book by Kavya Sharma. The author has well-written the story of Nadia in a flashback in form of letters written by her mad husband, Durjoy and narrated by her son Iman. The beginning confused me a bit about the lady in the story and the letters cleared the air further. I believe Durjoy should have been described as the protagonist in the story rather than Naddiya. Every letter describes the selfless love Durjoy has for Nadia irrespective of the attra ...more

To Nadiyaa is Kavya Sharma's debut novel.

The cover shows a door in a wall, keeping in line with the content of the novel. To Naddiyaa deals with the deep bonding between a man, Durjoy, and Naddiyaa, his wife, who is away from him, locked up.

Nadia spends many years of her life locked up. When she is released, her son, Iman takes her home and hands over a set of letters from his dead father. These 32 letters form the basis of the plot.

"I am an artist who is human Naddiyaa and that's the only default people call as madness. They see it as a lack; I see it as something that they can never have."
I wrote this quote here because I feel this is the best representation of the narrator in this story. To Naadiyaan by Kavya sharma

To naadiyan is a book which helps you to think, it makes one wonder what love actually is, how we take things for granted, how we never take consideration as to little things that people around us do.

The cover page of the book gives one a nice rustic feeling which showcases about the reality in the story anf somehwere tells about that one place around which the story revolves, and the place where majority of the story came into existence.

Written in the form of letters this book is something I would recommend anyone without a second thought.
This story is about two lives, Durjoy and Nadia written in the form of letters that Durjoy wrote for her wife shared to her by her son. Every letter describes different sort of love that Durjoy has for her wife despite knowing the fact that she is in love with her brother-in-law, Pranoy.

This book explores the area of emotions through the medium of hand written letters. Precisely , a perfect way to recite a story without the image of actual happened incident. This book travels through the memory lane of Durjoy letters and Naddiyaa’s past.

I would say “Pain” is the main protagonist of this tale. I was able to hold a smile despite of the pain , that is because of the unconditional love of Durjoy towards Naddiyaa.

Words are a miss for Durjoy. He wants to say so much to his wife Naddiyaa but fails to express his love during his lifetime. Instead, he writes to her. All his letters to his love, Naddiyaa, is the book written in lyrical letters.
The author, Kavya Sharma, has done a wonderful job in bringing out the bare emotions of two helpless people stuck in their mind frames; Naddiyaa, her love, her guilt, and her shame, and Durjoy, his pure love, and sacrifice. The narration is beautiful and powerful. The
