There is so much I want to say about this book, but I'll try and contain myself. A little.

First off, I loved the premise and I really connected with the characters. Even some of the secondary ones when Jonah is "invited" to meet with the Emperor. The pace was good, never lagging longer than the reader needs to catch their breath. 'Baby' annoyed the heck out of me at first, but I kept reading. In fact, I've had a difficult time putting it down. It is a longer book, and I'm so glad.

"Planes of Exodus" eBook was published in 2018 and was written by Robert J. Burnett. This is Mr. Burnett's first published novel.

I received an ARC of this novel through in return for a fair and honest review. I categorize this novel as ‘R’ because it contains scenes of Violence and Mature Situations. The story is set in the far future. Earth has been destroyed and all that is left of humanity has been surviving as refugees in an overcrowded galaxy. The primary character

I really liked Plains of Exodus, by Robert J. Burnett. It’s not without a quibble or two, but I just had to keep reading it all the way to the end. (It still took me three days to read – it’s long!) I guess I’ll start with what I didn’t like about the book. The author introduced a major female character by her physical attributes. Curves, boobs, hair – standard sci-fi stuff for twenty years ago. It was really only the introduction, and the character is pretty bad-ass, but the description was a ...more

I read sci-fi every time I can get my hands on one. This one was a nice surprise.

Fairly well written, some typos etc. I received and read an ARC from Netgalley so hopefully those were fixed before the pub date.

Jonah, the main character was very well developed. The supporting cast, not so well developed. But that is how the trends are going these days. I do hope if there is a sequel, the other characters are given a bit more body.

The premise of this story is great. Earth is gone, but gone for

Unable to finish. The epub format provided by the publisher did not allow changing font size. I tried to read the very small print but could not continue. What I did read would make me think this would be a well thought out story line with inventive characters.

While not quite a space opera, the book has a classic S/F scope to it. The story was good enough, but did not always maintain my interest. I was pleased however that love story was not a distraction from the overall narrative.

The Earth is a dead planet with the human population living in massive star ships. Humanity is hoping to find a new home. Then smuggler Jonah Mctier makes an amazing discovery.

Plains of Exodus revolves around the hero Jonah discovering an unmapped planet. His discovery also includes a wormhole to a new galaxy. His discovery not only could provide a home for humans. It might give humanity power in the galactic empire. An empire that wants nothing to do with helping people who survived Earth’s
