This is why I need to stay off Kindle Unlimited at 0:dark-thirty when I can’t sleep. Look, I have a deep LOVE of poetry and am always rooting for new poets so don’t come for me..but this was terrible. Maybe had I not read it on ebook? The ebook format, reading it on my phone at 2AM had me totally confused. Let’s keep it simple, old school, poets. We don’t have to run everything together so much to the point I have no idea where one statement ends and the next begins. Maybe that wasn’t your intention but maybe we need someone to look at it before it’s published.

I will keep an eye out for more poetry by this poet with hopes that possibly just this collection didn’t work for me. This collection felt like one continued thought. I heard you the first couple times but then I was ready to move on, give me a new thought. Just didn’t work for me.

Ebook format rating: 1 Star. It was super distracting and often took away from the authors words. There were also several spelling errors and lines that clearly weren’t meant to be on the same line.

If you can get past the formatting, the words are actually really great. It’s a short read but the author splits the book into 4 sections based around one relationship. I resonated with a lot of these poems and liked this authors voice.

I saw an excerpt on Instagram and found a resonance in Emeri’s writing, so bought the book. I particularly like the prose where it feels like thoughts straight to the page, rather than more crafted poetry. Some of the thoughts could have been my own, and I loved that.

The Kindle format spoiled it to some extent. I had to reread parts to gather how it was meant to be structured. I’d suggest reading the actual book if you’re interested.

This book is a book that truly shows how hurt a person can be and how many thoughts can go through a persons mind while going through things. It’s very good💜

Not a fan of the kindle formatting of this book. Maybe if I had read a physical copy I would have enjoyed it more?
