This story follows the second of the heart-bearers, Shikoba, as she fulfills her mission; just like all her sisters from the Order of The Sacred Heart...

I was a little afraid that the girls would all be the same, like a mould used over and over again, but again I was pleasantly surprised. Full of North American Indian influences and references, I enjoyed this book the most out of the three so far.

Plot-twisty action and adventure, mishaps and mistakes, is the order of the day in this fas

Heart of Shadra is the continuing story of The Heart of the Citadel series by Susan Faw. Heart of Shadra tells the story of Shadra - a young woman who is a crystal heart bearer. After a hunt with her friend Casper, she is heading back to her village, but along the way she crosses paths with the Djinn and dragon that are meant to be the members of her Triad. This is the 3rd book in the series the Heart of the Citadel by Susan Faw and in this book the Heart of Shadra I was captivated from the very first page, which is the dedication page of the book, and by what Ms Faw wrote she had already won me over. Thank you Susan for writing this, it is a great introduction to what turned out to be yet another amazing book. The triad of the crystal heart this time is formed by Shikoba, Obsidian her dragon and Sarcee her Djinn dragonmerger from the isle of Jinte ...more

Susan Faw’s Heart of Shadra, the third of her The Heart Of The Citadel series once again brings forth a great cast of characters, beautifully crafted, into a perfectly built world, with a perilous mission ahead of them. It’s an mission that will be completed but with a cost still to be told (yes, that’s an illusion to a doozy of a cliffhanger here, so you’ve now been warned). This is a talented writer displaying those talents in full and (as long as you can deal with cliffies), it’s well worth t ...more

Shikoba has returned to Shadra in order to bring down the barrier. In the process she meets Marsai (The Shamankas) The protector of the realm, a man from another realm who she is not sure she trusts, and two teens who see her as someone to be worshiped.

In their search for the power source of the barrier, they encounter creatures of legend, men who are enslaving the peoples of two different lands, and Madrid, The Emperor who has his own plans for everyone.

This is another well told fast paced st

Heart of Shadra (Heart of the Citadel, #3), my third read from author Susan Faw. I got the first book Heart Of Destiny (Heart of the Citadel #1) back in April 2018 & read it & Heart of Tyr (Heart of the Citadel #2) in October of 2018 and then I just lost track of the series. Another thoroughly entertaining well-written read that has all the makings of an epic with likable, well-developed characters that make you want to read more by this author! Next up is Heart Of Bastion (Heart of the Citadel ...more

The story was engaging and moved right along. There were not any slow parts.
There were several storylines winding in and out throughout the book. Characters are introduced in a way that they are able to weave in and out of the story to give it substance.
This story does contain a cliffhanger ending.
I recommend this book.

Susan has another winner. This 3rd book has everything you expect from a well written fantasy. I especially love Obsidian, Shikoba's dragon, who is one of the triad along with Shikoba and Sarcee her Djinn dragonmerger. HOS is a fact paced adventure with well developed characters, some you will love and others you will hate. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend this series. ...more

Holy smokes! Things are amping up and I would LOVE to see the horrible emperor have his defeat in the most demeaning way. He is truly vile. I can’t wait to see how his plays out! Mesmerizing and engaging!

Took me a while to finish this but it was a very intense magical tale. The 3rd in the series with an evil Emperor. I really detested this evil character. Such is the story telling skills of Susan Faw. This definitely left me hungry for more .

A lover of unusual worlds, Susan is a masked crusader for the fantastical world. Championing mythical rights, she quells uprisings and battles infidels who would slay the lifeblood of her pen. It’s all in a night’s work, for this whirlwind writer. Welcome to the quest.
