"This is a book for anyone interested in living fully, here on earth, as a human being, NOW. You don't have to believe in the ability to communicate with those who have died to enjoy In the Presence of Proof. You can be a hard-nosed, science-based skeptic. You can be someone (like me) who has been fascinated with, scared of, puzzled by the meaning of death and the existence of an afterlife. There is so much in this book to help you travel through the maze of your human mind to the shore of something bigger, vaster, more beautiful that we can ever dream of. Deborah Hanlon is a mystic and a guide, and I recommend this book." - Elizabeth Lesser, Founder, Omega Institute
From the heart and mind of an intuitive medium who has bridged those living with those passed thousands of times, discover what we can do right here and now to experience heaven while we are still alive. The fear of death is the greatest of all human fears, and the loss of someone we love leads to the greatest of all human grief. Both can cause intense physical and emotional pain and suffering, illness, and more often than not, the deep and lasting weight of regret and guilt. Sadly, this describes how millions of people live . . . if you can even call that living. In the Presence of Proof discusses not only the possibility, but offers proof, that consciousness survives physical death. That in itself offers peace to those grieving, and that’s a blessing of the grandest level, but there’s more to be revealed. Yes, there is an afterlife. Rest assured. However beyond finding peace with loss, you will learn we experience the afterlife each and every moment of every day . . . the afterlife of moments, situations, sadness, relationships, and even former selves. How will knowing this change how you live right this moment? Your old understanding is about to die, as this book will give you the birth of new understanding . . . one which will allow you to not only feel the closeness and connection to those you’ve lost, but to create your own Heaven on earth. As you are about to discover, this is only a few simple steps and new levels of awareness away. Welcome to your new life.
I know Debbie. I knew her when she was Debbie – a little girl losing her brother to cancer, and wading through all that grief at a terribly young age. We were family friends first. Then we became schoolmates and bus buddies. I was a couple grades ahead of her, so Time did what it does – put some distance between us, took us in different directions, and moved us along.
Years later, we ran into each other on Facebook. And I found she was Deborah, an Intuitive Medium. I was intrigued. I have had a couple experiences that don’t neatly fit into any scientific or religious box. And I knew one thing for certain: she wasn’t lying. Whatever was happening, whatever she was experiencing and sharing and bringing to people, she was not lying.
So I kept up with her from afar, watched her progress and build her practice, saw the feedback she was getting from clients, and cheered on my old friend, taking big leaps and living her life. She published a book, which I put on my list. But my list is very long. And it took me until this past weekend to read it.
And… wow! It was so much more than I was expecting.
First, Deborah takes the time to explain her own journey. Her earliest memories are of a family – her family – in crisis and grief. Understanding how that shaped her demystifies a lot of what the general public thinks about mediums. Of course she is more sensitive to the nuances of grief and loss – she had more time sorting through that by her teens than most have in a lifetime. So of course she can read a room. It’s not a scam – it’s a coping mechanism, a life skill she had to develop at age 3. Of course she sees death as a natural part of the continuum, and is curious about it. When you understand the trajectory of her life, it’s clear that she was going to be better at understanding so much of what surrounds death & dying.
Then, Deborah synthesizes what we know scientifically about death, life after death, and near death experiences. She isn’t just making it all up, or relaying what she says an invisible presence says to her. She’s studied this from all angles; she’s sought out experts; she’s asked many people the questions we all have.
The information she’s gathered, combined with her own experiences, lead to some very interesting answers to the big questions we have. Ghosts, reincarnation, messages from our loved ones… Deborah has something to offer on all these topics, and many more.
But what she really offers the reader is the chance to consider the soul. To think about what they know, they believe, and they’ve experienced around death and the afterlife. While she answers the questions she poses, Deborah is actually starting a conversation for the reader. This conversation can continue beyond the last page of the book in the traditional ways we humans converse. But it’s clear Deborah is inviting each reader to communicate with their soul, with their source, to get the most out of living here and now. Don’t worry about what’s coming next - you’ll get to it in due time. Focus on here and now, and the lessons you should be working through on this plane of existence.
A book about the afterlife that teaches you how to live better now… not at all what I was expecting. But exactly what I needed.
You can take what Deborah says at face value, and find it affirming. You may find you disagree, either based on your experiences or on your faith traditions. But if you have any interest in this topic, you should read this book. Like I said, she’s dealt with this longer and more than most of us ever have - she has wisdom to offer that you can benefit from. And, like I said, whatever else I know in this world, I know this: she’s not lying.
