AUTHOR: Lorraine Heath
SERIES: Sins for All Season #4
RELEASE DATE: August 20 2019
GENRE: Historical Romane
RATING: 4 Stars

Lorraine Heath is certainly one of the authors who writes with romantic and poetic flourish. She just has this way that will make you swoon just for the prose alone. I was looking forward to THE DUCHESS IN HIS BED because I've had a soft spot for Aiden since Finn's book THE SCOUNDREL IN HER BE

I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to the Sins for All Seasons series. Of the six Trewlove children, I was most interested in reading Aiden’s story and Beast’s story. Aiden has intrigued me from the beginning, so I was happy to see his story. Next up is Fancy’s and maybe finally I’ll get to read Beast’s story.

Aiden is everything I thought he’d be – hard on the outside and soft in the center. He protects what is his and
This book was so good! I loved Aiden just as much as I knew I would and Lorraine Heath delivered another fantastic historical romance from beginning to end. When I first met Selena, I didn't think I'd like her that much because she was a bit of a snob and her whole plan didn't endear her all that much, considering it was Aiden that she chose for her plan. Still, she does a lot of growing over the course of this book and I ended up liking her for Aiden. Lorraine Heath is the bomb, one of my favor ...more

Aiden Trewlove understands women; it's part of his business of introducing them to vice at his club, The Elysium. But he never personally interacts with his guests. Until one masked woman catches his attention. She asks for forbidden moments with him and soon has him breaking all his own rules.

Selena Sheffield, the newly widowed Duchess of Lushing, is desperate. Her husband's untimely death without issue, though he left her well provided-for, means the crown will receive all his estates and Sele

I have read and enjoyed the previous books in this series and I think I've been most eager for Aiden's story, so I was excited to start it.

I loved Selena and Aiden. She's in a crap situation and doesn't have a lot of options. He's always got a mask on and maybe pushes people away. They're both loyal to their families and instantly attracted to the other. Oh, and I forgot to mention he's a complete marshmallow who legit gives her whatever she needs, regardless of what it is. It was great to see

I did a live review of this book while I was reading it. You can check it out here: (please note, my site is under construction).

Here is a "quick" review:

I love Lorraine Heath but I had a really difficult time getting through this book. It took me 2 weeks to struggle through 300 pages and then I put it down and never picked it back up again. It wasn't exactly a conscious decision to stop reading it at that point, I just wasn't compelled to finish it.

This was one unexpected ARC I was granted by the publisher Avon, and Mrs Lorraine Heath is part of the many authors I wanted to discover works. So once I finished my already due reads, I jumped in this new release.

Lorraine Heath is a new-to-me author, so I can attest that The Duchess in His Bed can be read independently of the series as a standalone with little to no confusion, even with it being the 4th installment in the Sins for All Seasons series. With that being said, I was definitely intrigued by the entire premise and the characterizations, enough so that I am thoroughly looking forward to reading from the beginning, r

I feel like Lorraine Heath read my rant on her previous book, The Scoundrel in Her Bed and decided to prove me wrong. This one is such an improvement and I was so happy that my favorite 19th-century-adult-romance author is back on track! As you fellow readers know, erotic romance is one of the most difficult genres for writing AND reading, considering the language used. I admit, there are times when I think to myself - how did the Brits reproduce if their seduction style included words like "thr ...more

With that quote alone *swoons* Okay, let's wipe the drool here and commence this review, shall we? Ahem. This story embodies slow-burn and seduction to the freaking max.

This was written by amazing author extraordinaire Lorraine Heath. That should tell you right there how scrumptious and delightful this story will be before turning the first page!! Seriously she is and has been one of my very favorite authors and her witty humor, strong emotiions and engaging characters always make for a memorable read!
The Prologue alone made me want to strangle a despicable Earl, but then the story picks up 32 years later with our heroine, Widow, Selena Sheffield, Duchess of Lu

This book is the fourth in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. I walked into this one without having read the other 3 and I could follow the story with no problems.
Selena is a recently widowed duchess that needs to secure an heir in order to maintain her status and provide for her three little sisters. Her path takes her to Aiden, the owner of a gaming hell and bastard son of nobility. Aiden is immediately attracted to Selena but he struggles with what she's asking of him.

What a challenging storyline to tackle. I had to pause quarter into the book when I figured out Selena’s scheme involving Aiden. It looked like consent was going to be an issue. I’m glad I trusted in Ms. Heath and pressed on, otherwise I’d miss a lovely story.

As always with Ms. Heath’s books, things are not always as they seem and there’s an outlook shift at the end of the book that solves the conflict and leads the main characters to their HEA.

My Review: After reading book 1-3 of this one, YES I have actually read the previous titles! I have to say that this one was an improvement on those. I have had a hate and love relationship with this series but I keep coming back for more. This one though has made this a solid favorite series. This book will make you rethink how you view certain aspects of the sexual variety and man was it swoon worthy!! I could not put this one down.

In The Duchess in His Bed, the fourth book in the Sins for All Seasons series, Lorraine Heath weaves a masterful story of desire, deception and love. While reading the previous books in the series will help the reader to understand more of the side characters and events in the book, it is also able to be read as a stand-alone novel.

The Duchess in His Bed focuses on Aiden Trewlove, the enigmatic owner of the Elysium Club, an exclusive gaming and entertainment club for women. Aiden has a strict po

Lorraine Heath. What can you say? She is an absolute goddess when it comes to what a friend calls the "angst monsters." Heath is a master of the emotional romantic read. I know if I invest the time into a Heath it will be stellar quality, I will cry a lot (which I love, love, love), and the romance will break my heart/put the pieces back together again.

Lorraine Heath's "The Duchess in His Bed" was an enjoyable read with an interesting and relatively unusual setup. I found both of the main characters, Selena and Aiden, to be likeable and well-developed, and the secondary characters, particularly Selena and Aiden's siblings, added a lot of interest to the story as well. I hadn't read any of the earlier books in this series prior to starting this one, but I liked getting to know the couples from those books as they interacted with Aiden and Selen ...more

I received an ARC of this book to read through Edelweiss+ in exchange for a fair review. The Duchess in His Bed is the 4th book in Lorraine Heath’s Sins for All Seasons Series. It can be read as a stand-alone but it’s an excellent series and I highly recommend all of the books in the series. I have to confess that at first, I struggled with this book, I didn’t trust the author to do right by the hero and that was a big mistake, Lorraine Heath had never let me down before and she does not do so i ...more

How about SIX Stars?

I've enjoyed Lorraine Heath's stories for many years, and the Trewloves especially! But this story, oh my goodness! I was all in from the beginning. Aiden is the kind of hero of whom every woman dreams. He is generous, kind, fierce, and a bit of a scoundrel, but when he falls in love, it's with his whole heart. Selena's decision to try to save her sisters in the only way she knows how is just gut -wrenching as she works her way through the choices she must make. It was a pure
The Duchess in His Bed was beautiful written and sensitive. Selena is a widowed duchess who visits Aiden's club with one purpose, to seduce him into her bed. However, her reasons aren't purely attraction though it is clear between the two. She needs to save her family while Aiden, once he learns her true purpose, needs to discover if he can live with what she needs. This book was an emotional discovery for both characters and I wasn't sure the choices they would make til the very end!

I liked the romantic couple and I still adore Aiden, but the insta-love killed the book a little for me. I also felt the ending was rushed. I would've liked it even more if the pacing was better but, overall, it was a nice experience and I'm looking forward the next book in the series.
