Maybe there’s time for one last wish at Lighthouse Point…
Courtney Davis is perfectly content with the new life she’s found for herself and her son on Belle Island. They are finally safe from her past.
AJ Hamilton can’t shake his past. He finished trying to prove to his family, the media, or anyone else that he’s anything more than the black sheep of the wealthy Hamilton family.
When AJ arrives to hide out at the island, the oh-so-responsible Courtney falls for the footloose playboy. And AJ might just have found the one woman he wants to convince he’s not really the person everyone believes he is.
But when AJ’s choices accidentally put Courtney’s son in danger, there’s no escaping the past for either AJ or Courtney.
Maybe everyone is right about AJ.
Maybe Courtney will never truly be safe.
Or maybe, just maybe, one last wish at Lighthouse Point will change everything…
Kay Correll is a USA Today bestselling author of sweet, heartwarming stories that are a cross between women’s fiction and contemporary romance. She is known for her charming small towns, quirky townsfolk, and the enduring strong friendships between the women in her books.
Kay splits her time between the Southwest coast of Florida and the Midwest of the U.S. and can often be found out and about with her camera, taking a myriad of photographs, often incorporating them into her book covers. When not lost in her writing or photography, she can be found spending time with her ever-supportive husband, knitting, or playing with her puppies - a cavalier who is too cute for his own good and a naughty but adorable Australian shepherd. Their five boys are all grown now and while she misses the rowdy boy-noise chaos, she is thoroughly enjoying her empty nest years.
This is the last book in the series, and it was a good one. While I really enjoyed this series, I am ready for it to be over. I think all of the books were good -- some better than others -- but I feel that love stories in this small town will become repetitive. I'm glad the author decided to conclude on a good note and not draw it out. This book -- while a bit predictable -- did contain some of my favorite characters such as Tally, Courtney and Bobby. I didn't really like AJ at first, but he grew on me and became a good person towards the middle of the book. I would like to go to the Magic Cafe and Belle Island, which sounds like such a lovely town. I hope my friends there remain happy. Cheers!!
Bungalow by the Bay: Lighthouse Point Book 6 is by Kay Correll. This is the final book in this series; but it continues in Charming Inn and Sweet River Falls series or at least the characters do as well as the island. This book continues with the abuse theme as well as second chances. Tally and Eddie married quietly after more than a forty-year span. Tally still runs the Magic Café and works long hours at it; but she also spends her evenings with Eddie and he is always in and out of the Café. He also spends a great deal of time with their great-grandson Bobby and their granddaughter Courtney works at the Café. Courtney and Bobby have moved from the storage room into their own apartment, which is close to the Café. Things are looking up for the entire family, especially with Courtney’s ex, Kurt, in jail. AJ Hamilton has been banished by his father to spend some time with his Grandmother at a beach house. Once more, he had done something his father objected to and he fired him. The next two years, AJ spent traveling and partying with friends all over the world. The last group ended up getting him in trouble with customs and his father threatened to cut off his access to his trust fund unless he went to the beach and stayed out of trouble. As if the beach could help him, thought AJ. However, he soon met Courtney and became infatuated with her simplicity and her views towards family. Bobby, however, scared him to death. AJ had never been around children much less a very active six-year-old boy. Could he learn to like Bobby and to keep dating Courtney or would the world step in and cause all of it to blow up?
I really enjoyed reading this series and the one before it. I liked the way the author carried over many of the characters from one series to another. I thought her character study of each character was spectacular and how their friendship carried on and grew in each chapter and each book. I really didn't want the series to end.
My only concern was the proofreading of these books could have been better. A couple of times I would have to ponder to decipher what the author was trying to convey. Also there were times that there was a repeat of a word that was out of context of the sentence or paragraph.
I still gave each book a the five stars because I became so involved in the story line and the relationships of the characters.
This is the last book in the Lighthouse Point series with the exception of the Christmas one. I became so invested in these characters and grew to love them all. Tally is my favorite...she seems to be about my age and she is who everyone else sort of looks up to. She owns the Magic Cafe, has had some life disappointments however, she does find happiness through many circumstances. I also loved Julie, the owner of the Sweet Shop, a bakery that provides goodies to the Magic Cafe and other Lighthouse Point businesses. Each book has a story of its own but this one wrapped up the story in a way that left me satisfied and happy. I have purchased another series by this author with the hope that I would fall in love with those new characters, too.
I highly recommend this book to everyone. I enjoyed the ending, the lady & her son found her family, Tally & Eddie coming together & getting married. What a happy reunion for all them. Tally's granddaughter finding true happiness. All the series are wonderful books to read.
Just finished this series in a marathon reading. Enjoyable love stories. Predictable but that's how I like it. How the lovebirds get to find their true happiness is what it's all about. Thank you Kay Cordell. Now if we can get fewer eye winks we'll be all set.
I would recommend this book to those who like a fast read that gives nothing away as you read it. Everything is a surprise but it has a Happy ending. There were many curves in the road in the story telling which made it a book I couldn't set down! In have read all the Lighthouse Point books & I loved them all!
I have enjoyed all 6 Lighthouse Point Books. They are very well written. They kept me guessing at times, made my heart warm and years fall. Each character is so well defined. I fell in love with each one! I was sad to finish the last book in this series. Looking forward to starting your next series. Totally Awesome!
Another fun read by Kay Correll. I so enjoy her character development and this story along with #5 included the most delightful little boy named Bobby. I loved his character, his enthusiasm for all things, and his wonderful imagination. There is a sequel coming out for Christmas this year that I am really looking forward to!
The final book in the Lighthouse series is as sweet as the others. The author illustrates it so that you feel like you are right on the ocean, feeling the wind book and tasting the salt in the air.
Have read each book 1-6. Just loved each any every book in this series.love reading stories of beach life and the people in them. I was wishing for another book in the series, but I guess not, loved this series
I love Kay Correll. The 4th book in the series was great. This one was extremely disappointing and repeated the plot. These great characters froom Book 4 deserved much better.
A great wrap of the series. I came to feel like I knew the characters in the books. This story also pointed out the challenges of domestic abuse and escaping it. Ms. Correll includes some aspect in each of her books to highlight some of the challenges we all may face.
Loved this story. It is about Courtney and AJ. Courtney is Tally’s granddaughter. AJ is Delbert Hamilton’s cousin. AJ comes from a background so different than Courtney. She is still dealing with issues of abuse from her ex. Yet together they just might find happiness.
I enjoyed this series of six books I became to love all the characters and can’t wait for the next series that goes with this seven more to read and I can’t wait thank you for writing such a wonderful series!
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the characters and the plot. I also like that the same characters appear in different series. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
