This book didn't do much for me. The premise is that the book is guiding you towards eating foods and developing a diet geared towards food for improving your brain. Unfortunately, it's almost exclusively Mediterranean food and recipes, think recipes with mint, and cucumber, which didn't hold much appeal for me.

Beautiful book with top quality slick pages and amazing pictures of the recipes. I felt this was like an infomercial as every page talked about their Amen Clinics and how to get more advice. While the information was worthwhile, the sticker price of the book would have been thin as I wouldn't be able to eat for over a week. Glad my library had a copy...

Upon more investigation, I'm giving this book 2 stars. The recipes contain virtually no cholesterol, and since the book has been written, studies have come out on the importance of having some in our diets for good health. The author has more recently written an article on why cholesterol is "more important than you think". So, I'm going to keep adding a little butter to my veggies.

I like this author's approach to cooking and eating healthy foods. I'm going to try a few of the recipes, including the cranberry walnut muffins, the quinoa berry breakfast, and use some of the party recipes.

Some of the recipes are yummy and all are healthy, but most of them have LONG ingredients lists that include expensive or hard-to-find items. Just not my style of cooking these days, when both time and money are limited.

So when I found out this book existed I was very excited. I’ve read all their books. I appreciated the brief summary of their diet points in the beginning and a few of their recipes but I really appreciate their new Brain Warrior’s Cookbook much better.
