“Harley? What are you doing with that?”
I hesitated and looked over my shoulder when I heard the name I’d been given in a voice that was slowly becoming familiar. My guardian, Zade, was standing in the open doorway.
Looking back to the mirror, I studied the unfamiliar face staring back at me. Releasing my grip on a length of thick curls, I slowly lowered the rusty hacksaw blade that I was gripping in my other hand. I stared in horrified fascination at the nearly scalped man gazing back at me from the mirror.
“I don’t know, sir.”
“Okay,” Zade’s voice was calm and soothing. “Why don’t you come with me?”
“Yes, sir.” I placed the saw blade in his outstretched hand and obediently followed him from the bathroom, sitting on the sofa that he motioned me to.
“I’ll be right back. Wait here, please.”
A choked gasp caught my attention, telling me that Zade and I were no longer alone. Zade's husband, Levi, stood in the doorway, his blue eyes sad. He inhaled deeply and then forced a smile.
"Hey, Harley." He held a hand out to me. "Why don't you come with me and we'll see what I can do to help finish your haircut?"
"Yes, sir." I rose and walked over to take his hand, my eyes trained on the floor.
"Oh, Harley," Levi said softly, leading me into the kitchen and seating me like I was a child. "You don't need to call me sir. I'm Levi, remember?" He ran gentle fingers through the length of hair that I had been holding when Zade interrupted me. "Um, we're going to have to cut this pretty short," he said slowly, "unless you want to try something a little edgier?"
"Whatever you think is best, sir. I mean, Levi." After all, I didn't even recognize the person in the mirror, what difference would it make to me what he looked like?
Levi moved around me in a circle, his head tilting as he studied me. Finally, he stepped back and nodded his head, raising the hand holding the scissors. "Okay. I think I have an idea."
I sat perfectly still as Levi snipped and clipped, catching the occasional curl from the corner of my eye as it dropped to the kitchen floor.
"You have such pretty hair," he mused, still snipping away. "It's a shame most of it will be gone."
"It'll grow back," I reminded him, catching a lock in my fingers as it fell toward my toes. It was a pretty color, I agreed silently. A red so dark that it looked black until the light reflected off it. Still, I thought with an inward shrug, I wouldn't miss it.
"Of course it will," Levi agreed quickly. He made one final circuit around my chair with a snip here and there before laying the scissors on the counter and pronouncing the job done. "Why don't you come into the bathroom and see what you think?"
The curls that had bobbed down past my shoulders were gone. On the right side of my head – the side I had started with – there had been nothing Levi could do except even-out the hair I had cropped close to my head. On the top he had layered it so that it started out short at my right temple and then gradually increased in length over the top of my head and down to just below my left ear.
It was edgy.
Unique.
But it didn't matter because I still didn't recognize the man in the mirror.

First of all, I’m really glad that Kian Rhodes released 3 new books in her omega auction chronicles series (16th, 17th, 18th) in a period of mere two weeks. 😊 However, it has already been 7 months when the 15th book in the series came out back in April. So I almost forgot about everyone especially newly introduced characters after book 10 except our very important core shifters. This book for me read more like an intervention between books so that the author can produce more books in this universe. 🙂 Quite low on heat comparing with all her other books in the series and this was really heavy on plot rather than in character development and so many POVs. However, the horror tales of the alpha ring is still going on and it was somewhat satisfying to get at least a huge chunk of answers to these issues in this book. Overall, if you are hooked on this series, you can’t skip this book whether you want to or not. And the epilogue in this book isn’t really an epilogue but Kian Rhodes has a habit of using the previous characters from her book later on in the series so I’m hoping to get a glimpse of Scott and Har in the future books.

4 surprisingly good stars!

I think I read the first handful of books but haven’t read them since. I think so anyway. But decided to give this a try after I saw a fellow GR friend who was raving about this series so whadayaknow, I decided to jump into the series here.

Admittedly, it’s a bit confusing because I don’t know who’s who but it wasn’t so bad as to completely turn me around. And surprisingly, I enjoyed this instalment very, very much! My only gripe is the ending felt a little fast tracked. But otherwise, I liked the story. I liked the characters.

Took me a minute to catch on to what was going on, because of Ms. Rhodes interlocking series. I just hope the next book deals with Zade and Levi's bullshit, a!omg with this complicated storyline.

There was lots of emotion in this one. Two things bothered me about this book: the author wrapped up the end rather abruptly especially because we had wondered about the memory loss throughout the whole book. 2nd was Zades deal with Harley and wanting to keep him apart from the alpha Scott he was meant to be with! 😠😡 Even at the end it was never really clear why he was so against them being together and what became of Zade and Levi’s relationship? I just felt like I had more questions than I had answers at the end.

Scott & Harley have an interesting story to tell.
Good stuff: Harley has lost himself...maybe and Scott has lost him.
Dumb stuff: We were never told exactly why Harley’s family felt the way they did about Scott.
Good stuff: This was a weightier story than most in this series so overwritten sex was not needed.
Good stuff: All the players are here used to their strengths.
Dumb stuff: My Wonderful Colby is worried about this pregnancy and I can understanding but we never really got his take in it.
Dumb stuff: Did I miss something? Levi should kick every inch of Zade’s ass. What was all that about?
Good stuff: The plot was deep and could become into an intense tale.
Good: The young shifters are interesting but I need more.
Confusing stuff: How old are they? They seem like four year olds but when did that happen?
Bad stuff: Kian Rhodes just continues to rush through and misses the opportunities his plot offered. The rush to conclusion made the “bad guys” absolute caricatures. It was just developing a creepy quality. Missed again.

I have been reading this series and the Omega Auction series sporadically. I didn’t read the first book in the Bloodvalley Investigation series, but I don’t think it really mattered. I think what did matter was not reading Zade and Levi’s story prior to this one. I’m left wondering if I had read that story first would Zade’s actions have made more sense to me because I couldn’t understand the motivation behind his behavior. I felt sorry for Levi and we are left wondering what is going to happen with those two.

I did like both Nathan and Scott. I felt bad for everything that Nathan went through and Scott was so supportive of him. My only nitpick was that I felt Scott’s reaction during the epilogue didn’t match what we knew of him in the rest of the book. In fact the epilogue was my least favorite part of the whole story and I almost wish the author had left it out. Overall, a really good story and I will definitely read the next one in the series.

Harley is broken beyond measure with no memory of why or even who he is. He instinctively knows that Scott is safe. Scott stands as a shield around his mate defending him against all threats. Even those that should be friends. I loved that when Harley talked about things that seemed far-fetched, Scott always believed him. There's a new threat for all the previous heroes to overcome. I'm crossing my fingers that the next book is out soon. I'm anxious to find out what is up with Colt's mate and to see Zade and Levi reconciled.

I like this series and have, in the past, actively searched for the next book. And I thoroughly enjoyed it until half way when the Author just had to throw her political leanings into it. Why someone who relies on the public for their livelihood would purposely alienate part of it I have no idea. Whether they voted for Trump or are simply sick and tired of politics being constantly shoved down their throats, it was a bad move. I don't care who the Author voted for or which side of the aisle they lean, but when I escape into a romantic fiction, that's all I'm looking for. I understand that a bit of everyday life seeps into a work of fiction, it makes it more believable, but Ms. Rhodes should leave her overt politics out of it. For my part, from now on I'll keep my money.

An omega wolf and the alpha who loves him

Harley is an omega purchased by the elders as a potential mate for their alpha, Zade. But Zade has already chosen his mate and Harley is at loose ends not knowing that Scott, an alpha from his birth pack who loves him has been searching for him. Before Scott can claim Harley he is kidnapped and when he is returned Harley has forgotten who he is, even that he is an omega wolf, thinks he is human and doesn't recognize anyone. His memory loss is hard on everyone and the mystery takes a lot to clear up and your heart breaks about what abuse happened to Harley while he was kidnapped. Scott and Harley get their HEA in this great story and I highly recommend this book and the series.

This was an amazing book although I loved Zade in his book but in this one I actually think I hated him he was such a jerk in this book and honestly I still don’t know what is problem was and Colby and Rafe they where ok but they where pretty unfair to Scott and Harley in this book but besides for that and also that there was no pregnancy I loved this book I felt so bad for Harley I actually cried a little in this book

Just love this series!

Scott was denied his claim by Harley’s mother and she sold him to another Alpha while Scott was away. As soon as he came back and found that Harley was gone he went searching. Meanwhile Harley was rejected by the alpha so he spent time in the woods where he was kidnapped. When Harley was found he was in a dazed and didn’t remember anything, not even his own name or face. What happened?

Great book!

THE HEART ALWAYS KNOWS

Scott and Harley have a mystery to solve, but the heart will never forget. This is a FANTASTIC story that flows through the pack from Rafe and Colby, Zade and Levi, to Clint and Trevor. I read it in one sitting. Absolutely a MUST READ for any Kian Rhodes Fan. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS BLOOD VALLEY INVESTIGATIONS SERIES!!!!!

This was an epic journey with 17 books in the Omega Auction Chronicles (plus 4 shorts) and they are intertwined with the Omega Rescue and Blood Valley Investigations). They are definitely best read in order and worth it - very sexy, entertaining and fun.

I still have the Omega Destiny, International series to get through and looking forward to it.

A little all over the place

I’ve read all of the books in this series and have liked them but sometimes they are a little uneven and this one was a little all over the place. Hope the next one is a little better.

It’s nice to know

What came of Harleigh and get to see him be happy. I hope at some point in the series we get more of their HEA. I’d like to see them start a family and be more settled.

THIS WAS SO INTENSE! And when it was exposed what had happened to Harley?!? OMG! My only complaint is that they should have had a few more chapters of HEA.

This Kin Rhodes had an interesting twist or two. Well worth the read - but I really think you get a lot more from these stories if you have read the entire series from the beginning.
