Great strategies to calm your mind. I read this one slower, as I tried to implement some of the tips along the way. The meditations will be very helpful in slowing down, which I don’t do enough of. Also keen to start listening to more of Rachael’s podcasts now.

I've been an avid listener of the Mindful Kind podcast for a few years now and I found this book equally approachable and delightful as the podcast. A wide variety of different ways to be mindful and practice creativity were presented with stories about author's own and her client's experiences. I will adopt some of her tips for sure. However, as much as I liked reading this, I wished there had been more references to actual research in some occasions. I also think that this could have used yet another round of proofreading. I read the ebook version on Scribd app and I think there were some formatting issues along with missing capital letters etc., which annoyed me a little. I would probably rate this somewhere around 3.5 stars, but rounding up to 4.

Really relatable writing style, and the author comes across as kind and caring. What I really liked about this book is that it doesn't try to push certain techniques or ideals on you, instead Rachael gives you loads of potential ideas and strategies for you to see what resonates with you.
I took a pen and highlighter to this book (sorry Rachael!) so that I could mark what really spoke to and related to me, so that I can keep going back to it as a quick reference and booster :)
Also, unlike a lot of self help type books it's not full of other people's or the writers potentially triggering stories. The author essentially writes a guideline that you can fit to your needs in my opinion.
It's the first self help book I've actually read cover to cover without skimming!

This book was interesting, insightful and extremely practical. It really opened my eyes to the benefits of mindfulness and I’ve already implemented some of Rachael’s tips into my own life. I would definitely recommend it if you struggle at all with stress and anxiety. It’s still light and fun, and very relatable. The Mindful Kind is the sort of book you’ll find yourself coming back to again and again, learning something new every time. I look forward to my second read!

I started listening to Rachael’s podcast The Mindful Kind about 4 maybe 5 years ago as I wanted to add more to my mindfulness journey and I absolutely loved and still love her podcast. When she mentioned she had written a book I was thrilled because it was going to enhance my journey. Of course being in Canada I had to wait a bit until I could get it but I am absolutely thankful that I did.

Her book has only enhanced her podcast and my mindfulness journey. I lost my job at the beginning of the COVID pandemic and have had the worst time getting another one. During all this my dad was diagnosed with terminal bone cancer but thankfully he is able to undergo a bone marrow transplant. I am going to be his caregiver during his healing process and by then I will be nearly 47 and out of work three years.

This book helped me find a new purpose for after and to get through all of this mindfully. If you only read one self-growth, self-love book this year. Make it this one.

A brilliant book. I chose this after listening to The Mindful Kind podcast and falling in love with Rachael’s compassionate but direct approach and the simple yet insightful tips she offers. The book is split into helpful sections which are further divided into chapters, each containing useful pointers to live more mindfully with a self care approach. Some parts are bullet pointed for ease of digestion, and the book also contains personal insights as well as others experiences which helps application to real life. A thoroughly useful read which I would highly recommend to anybody who wishes to learn more about mindfulness, self care, personal growth and themselves.

If you are a fan of Rachel's "Mindful Kind" podcast, then this book is for you.

Having been a listener of her podcast for a while, I find her voice calming and relaxing.

While browsing borrowbox one day I noticed that her book was available for download as an ebook or audiobook. Needless to say, I borrowed the audiobook.

Rachel is many tips to be mindful every day, that are simple and easy to implement.

So if you are the type of person that is sick of leading a chaotic life and needs more calm in your life, this book is for you.

I listened to this book in audio and found it to be really insightful and it provided so many ideas to think about. It really opened my eyes to so many things that I do and feel in my own life that I never knew how to put into words. I’ve already started implementing some of the techniques and have found them really helpful in lessening some of my anxiety and getting me to enjoy the moment more fully.

I've enjoyed Rachael's podcast for a while so was happy to see she wrote a book. I like how she used her own personal experiences to make a point. She didn't shy away from bearing the awful truth of contemporary life and how it can be hard to cope sometimes.
She is authentic, raw, kind and gentle.
Highly recommend.

The Mindful Kind by Rachael Kable is a great introduction to mindfulness.
Rachael is open and honest about her own introduction to mindfulness and shares many wonderful tips to get you started on your mindfulness journey.
As well as reading The Mindful Kind, I have also since begun to listen to Rachel's podcast of the same name. I thoroughly enjoy the insights and prompts shared, and I find the podcast to be very relaxing.

I've been practicing meditation for quite a few years now. Mindfulness is a big part of that and is such an ingrained part of my daily habits. So this book in part didn't have to do much to convince me of the benefits and impacts of mindfulness. It was however a wonderful exploration of how mindfulness and meditative practices can be integrated into so many aspects of life.

I ended up listening to this book in the cusp of the encroaching bushfires in Australia and COVID-19 being named a global pandemic by the WHO. It was obviously a time of underlying stress we were all experiencing, and it was a wonderful break each morning while I read. The nonjudgemental approach to anxiety and acknowledgement that mindfulness is a tool not a panacea was an invaluable moment of pause, before I checked the news (as scary as it was).

Just like with a couple of minutes of mindfulness I can't help but recommend this book. The strategies and understanding of frustration, silliness and apprehension of people who haven't practiced before make this such a wonderful book. It isn't trying to convince the reader about the benefits of meditation (although they are mentioned in there) it is offering a means in which people who are open to trying it can access this practice.

I love the Mindful Kind podcast and have been listening to it for a few years now. Enjoyed the book because it sums up Rachael’s advice from many of the episodes. A great introduction to mindfulness if you are curious about the practice and want to learn more ways to implement strategies in different areas of your life. If you already have a mindfulness/meditation practice you might find it rudimentary. Nonetheless, a good reminder. I definitely recommend reading a little bit each day over a longer period so you can try some of the strategies rather than reading it all at once.
