Meet the members of the Sin City Brotherhood—a group of five extremely successful, intelligent, wealthy, and ambitious men and one woman in Las Vegas. They run the city, work hard and play even harder. Their erotic club, Di Terrestres, caters discreetly to the desires of the highest echelon of Las Vegas society.
The Martinez family helped Alex Fischer turn his life around when he came to them as a troubled child. Now, years later, he’s best friends with their son, Rafael, and they’re both living the high life in Vegas, working and partying together. When he runs into Rafael’s younger sister, Maria, at a club one night, his red-hot attraction to her takes him by surprise. Wary of betraying Rafael, he keeps his distance. Until…
The last thing he expects is to run into Maria at his office, where she’s been hired as an assistant. They can’t keep their hands off each other, and it doesn’t take long for them to begin an illicit fling. Alex knows their relationship must stay hidden or he could lose his best friend and tear apart the Martinez family—but it’s hard to keep something this good a secret forever.
J. Margot Critch writes steamy contemporary romance and romantic suspense. She graduated from Memorial University with a BA in Religious Studies and Folklore. She currently lives in St. John’s, Newfoundland, with her husband, Brian, and their two little fur buddies, Otis and Chibs. She spends equal amounts of time writing, listening to Jimmy Buffett music and looking out at the ocean, all the while trying to decide if she should have coffee or margaritas.
Hawt and sexy are just a few adjectives to describe Sweet as Sin. I was blown away with the madly intense sexy scenes and riveted by the tug-a-war of emotions between Alex and Maria. The little family drama also mixed things up a bit and I really enjoyed how the author let things unfold.
The first time Alex and Maria hit it off I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed. That dance floor scene...perfect!
Sent as a bodyguard to protect his best friend’s little sister, sets Alex’s world on fire. Maria tantalizingly disarray’s his soul one seductive move at a time. All he can think about is her. Where does this magnetic attraction lead? Will hearts be broken in the end? Can love heal every mistake? The author does a great job keeping the stakes high. All in all, a good solid read.
Sweet as Sin by J. Margot Critch is the third book in the Sin City Brotherhood series. This book is beyond amazing. I had to finish it in one setting. You have this brotherhood who supports each other in every decision yet one of them is falling for another members little sister. It is intense and hot. I adored every single minute of it. Alex and Maria are so enigmatic. You don't want to miss this book. Even as part of a series it can read as a standalone.
I am not sure how to review this story. I loved the previous two stories (especially the last one) but this one seemed off for me. I liked Alex however I thought he jumped way too fast from “we shouldn’t” to “lets do this”. Needed to be more holding back, foreplay. I did like Maria’s character. She was 26 and just wanted to be treated as an adult. Alex definitely had angst but I wanted to know more of the why about him. Good story though.
This is an intense story line that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and turns and hot chemistry. Lots of excitement. A thrilling must read, every page will have you enthralled and panting for more.
This is a tough one. It's a trope I typically like...Best Guy Friend gets the hots and falls for little sister
The thing is when Alex was very young [and female MC, Maria, was 2yrs old, I think she said] foster care allowed him to live with their family, so...egh, Alex is not-really-but-kinda-like another brother.
Maria has crushed on him since forever, so...SHE READY [AND I MEAN SHE READY TO JUMP HIS BONES!!]. This situation caused me to lower my rating a bit because though it was the usual hot-tempered and passionate relationship...I found HER a bit too much.
The very first time they danced on the club dance-floor, his thigh went between her legs and she rode him to orgasm?!?! Nuff said. She didn't care about a lot of things but still wanted to keep them a "secret", then of course near the end she did start to care because being secretive kept them from being able to kiss, hold hands [yeah, right!] and be near one another in public.
My other problem though was he continued to inform us of considering and re-considering telling his best friend/her brother, then he would put the brakes on that and simply go fcuk the sister without care for anyone but them. I mean, SERIOUSLY, DUDE?! And TWICE...two times they had sex in small rooms with locked doors but it was always in the middle of a crowded moment outside of the door where her brother/his best friend would easily catch them.
