Original Review at Jaunts & Haunts

I gave this short story four spellcasting stars!

This is my first time reading anything by Ashley Greathouse, and I had fun with this story.

Without giving too much away, this story is about a witch who is on a special visit out to a lake cabin. At first it seems that she is simply there to enjoy her time, but it turns out to be much, much more than that.

The concept of this story was great. I am a sucker for witches, having rewatched Charmed I don't know

A wonderful, well-written short.

The plot was original, fun, and the dialogue and characters were believable.

The language was plain, yet, pointed. No unnecessary ornamentations or attempts at poetic flair--a straightforward read.

My only complaint was I would have loved for this to be continued into a novel or even a novella. More could have been pulled from this tale.

Otherwise, I would highly recommend this short to anyone.

Up for a little Halloween treat? Here ya go then. It's a little twisted, fun, short read that will make you say "Hmm" at the end. I wish it had been a little longer, but it was well written and enjoyable.
