I really enjoyed this book, which weaves the myth of Jason and the Golden Fleece into an adventure story set during Nero's reign. Featuring two unlikely heroes - slaves Cadmus and Tog - the story centres around the emperor Nero's mad scheme to try and find the legendary Golden Fleece. From the first page the reader is swept up into the action and championing Cadmus and Tog all the way. The book also puts a neat spin on the Jason myth by highlighting the role played by Medea. I think this is meant to be a YA book which I didn’t realise at first, but I actually loved it so much. This was bought for me as a Christmas present crib my daughter, and I devoured it in a couple of days. Great story, I loved the bits on ancient Rome, and a few twists and turns to keep things moving. Highly recommended.

Indiana Janus and the Lost Blanket
Great sense of time and place, full of well-rounded characters and a lovely relationship between the two main protagonists. Plenty of twists and turns in the plot which zips along. Highly recommended.

An excellent adventure story set in the times of the Emperor Nero. Believable hero and heroine, good mystery and and understanding of Rome, written by Classics teacher Nick Bowling. Good addition to your shelves for KS3

I enjoyed this mix of myth and Roman history. Aimed at teens it is a good relaxing read for adults too!
Nice set of characters and an ending that could lead to more adventures in the future, though not set as a series.

A lovely blend of history, adventure and mythology - incidentally exactly what the back of the book promised!
