Sascha hat einen schlechten Tag. Zuerst gibt es Probleme in der Arbeit. Dann macht seine Freundin mit ihm Schluss. Warum? Weil er einen komischen Familiennamen Frauenschuh! Mit diesem hässlichen Namen kann er kein schönes Leben haben, findet Sascha. In der Nacht trifft er einen Teenager mit neongrünen Joggingschuhen vor seinem Haus. Aber wer ist dieser Yannik? Warum will er Sascha helfen? Und wie? Plötzlich beginnt es zu regnen und zu donnern. Im nächsten Moment ist Sascha in dem Körper von einem anderen Mann. Auch dieser Mann heißt Sascha Frauenschuh. Ist das alles nur ein Traum? Vielleicht nicht, denn Sascha springt wieder, von einem Sascha Frauenschuh in den nächsten und immer weiter ... Even Mark Twain said, “When a German dives into a sentence, you won’t see him again until he emerges at the other end with the verb between his teeth.” So, isn’t reading German just frustrating and tiring, making you want to rip the pages out of the book?! Well, it doesn’t have to be. This is where books like the Einfach Deutsch lesen series come in, which prove that reading can boost your language knowledge and be enjoyable at the same time. Plot and characters always come first. Offering stories the room they need to evolve is paramount to creating depth and to breathing life into the characters. Vocabulary and grammar are then adapted to the level indicated on the book cover. These levels are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Familiar vocabulary is reinforced and new words are gradually introduced in context, without causing the reader frustration.
For a newbie in German, this novel is a blast. It is just the right dose of the language that makes you understand the events while learning new vocab. I also loved reading text while listening to the audiobook.. the audiobook is really awesome too. It is read by Angelika herself.
I loved this. It was about the right level for me to understand most of it with just a few bits of unknown vocab to stretch me. I also found it really useful for finding the gaps in my grammar knowledge.
While this book won't let you off the hook for learning German grammar rules, I've found it very helpful in improving my vocabulary. In addition, I've gained a better understanding of sentence structure and how German is spoken.
The story itself is pretty fun. The main character's bewilderment at his changing circumstances is endearing and the situations here finds himself in are interesting.
What a wonderful book. I started reading Angelika Bohn books to improve my meager German language skills. Now I read them because they are so much fun to read. I've read three of Bohn's books so far, and all three have had great characters and brilliant plots. So far "Immer Wieder Sascha" is my favorite of Bohn's books. I just may read it again right now.
The story kept my interest and helped improve my German vocabulary. The one odd thing was when existing in a female body that Sascha was referred to with masculine pronouns, but that did keep one thinking of Sascha as a male. I can see why the author chose that option.
I have been studying German for a number of years and reading this book gave me a big confidence boost. I was able to read the book without having to translate the words into English and also to really enjoy the story.
Read this as research (german teacher looking for resources for sudden)
Great little Book for improving your german - language is simple enough you can follow along but at the same time complex enough for students to learn new vocabulary and feel suitably challenged - story is surprisingly interesting!
I have enjoyed all of the Angelika Bohn books that I have read. This was a fun read and it is nice to read a story and get most of the language. Keep writing Angelika, I will keep buying them.
This is an engaging book, I really enjoyed reading it a second time. The storyline is outstanding. It's about Sasha who wakes up as another person, it's a wonderful mystery, I also love how it leads straight into the second book in the series, which I will also read again. this is improving my language skills a lot! I very much encourage any person learning german to read this series.
