This is a very flawed and awkward biography. I enjoy reading Jaspers’ works and felt that reading a biography about his life and thought would make his works shine more, but I was only able to get little of it from this book. I certainly enjoyed reading about his upbringing and his time in exile during the Nazi occupation and you certainly get some useful information about his life, however, the book lacks a flow which makes this book tedious and choppy.
