Probably the most helpful of the travel guides we used in Croatia. It covered some places not mentioned in the Rick Steve's guide (our other main guide). I really like the sections on recommended reading and music, too. My one criticism is that there's a lot of dry info that's dutifully included about various museums and so on. Usually that turned out to be of limited interest. Still, I know that many readers do want that, so that's a minor quibble.
I love the Rough Guides - they provide enough info for the budget traveler to the occasional top-shelf stay. We're headed to Croatia this fall and this book has given me plenty to dream about. Beautiful pictures, great descriptions... looking forward!
This is a good guide to a fascinating country. Plenty of background information and useful lists. Keeping current is a perennial problem with frequent visits an impossible ideal.
