There is one thing that both Reece and Griffith want--to impress the head of the law firm. Griffith has political aspirations and Reece is trying to shift her wedding planning business into planning events. When they are given two weeks to wow everyone, they set to work, together, and have to set aside their differences to do so. Who would expect sparks to ignite?

I loved the ambition that each character exhibited throughout the story. They each had little ways to dig at each other, trying to get

You take an aspiring politician and a motivate events planner, put the together and you get "Political Parties".

Reece and Griffith are opposites with their personalities. Griffith spends his time working to obtain his goals. He wears suits and acts doesn't let loose often. Reece is a ray of sunshine wherever she goes. She is optimistic and fun. She knows how to work hard and how to play. The one thing they have in common is that they are driven to succeed.

They are basically thrown together when

I've been looking forward to this book for awhile now. This sounds like the perfect set up for a Hallmark romance, right? I could picture each scene from this book just like a movie in my head. It had great romantic build up and tension, witty banter and characters that I genuinely liked. Well, Griffith wasn't love at first read, but he grew on me as I got to know him better and as Reece worked her sunshine magic on him. Reese is someone I would love to be friends with in real life. This was a totally entertaining Contemporary Romance book.
Although slightly predictable and not very humorous, as the title claims, this book is very well written and has a relevant and strong message within the plot.

There are some twists, but mostly goes from scene to scene with a smooth "flow" and adventures to keep the reader enthralled.

This novel is, basically, about a woman who finds herself as a wedding planner, when in fact, she began her career to be an event planner. However, she was an

The only thing Reece Ryan and Griffith Brighton have in common is their drive to succeed. They are opposite in almost every other way. Reece is cheerful, friendly, perky and close to her family. Griffith is intense, brooding, and thinks an annual visit during the holidays can often be avoided. And those difference are stark when the two are thrown together to plan two big events for the law firm where Griffith works.

As the two spend most of their waking hours together, they begin to admire the s

My review for Political Parties
I had read another book by this author Happily Ever Afters and to date Political Parties is my favorite
What I loved about this book
It was a fun charming heartwarming story of two people finding each other when the stakes are high and set against them.
Both hero and heroine were both fully developed characters in this clean relationship driven romance.
The story was wonderfully believable. This author has a knack of visually drawing you in.
The heroine was smart good

What a treat of a book. A sweet, but not cloying, romance, with a heart full of emotion. The author writes very well, with a sparky, witty style that can also convey the thoughts and feelings of the characters and make you root for them from start to finish. At first the hero and heroine look like chalk and cheese – what could serious lawyer and aspiring politician Griffith have in common with wedding planner and “Texan firecracker” Reese? I had great fun reading how these two, thrown together t ...more

This was such a fun and in-depth read, different from my typical reading choice. The book as a whole was enjoyable but there were moments that I specifically enjoyed; such as the natural blossoming of their romance. It didn't feel fake or forced or rushed. You find yourself cheering for their relationship. However, another fun aspect of this read is Reece with her party planning. You go from party to wedding. It was a fun element to the read that makes the reader feel like they are being able to ...more

Loved it! The story hooked me in right away and just kept building from there.

There was only one point that made me stop & roll my eyes - the story of how Reece's high school prom king dumped her was just too over-the-top to believe. Could've been told more believably.

The ending is a bit too stereotypical Hallmark movie-ish, but I loved the happily-ever-after enough that I didn't care, lol.

Rachel Magee has done it again. This is another great novel by this talented author. Political Parties is so much fun! It’s a wonderful sweet romance. The characters Reece and Griffith captured my heart from the very first chapter and I loved the seeing their love blossom. The exotic settings in the novel whisk you away to everything from fancy weddings, to elegant parties, to a romantic balloon ride. This is a must read for your fall reading list.

Rachel wrote her first novel when she was twelve and entered it into a contest for young author/illustrators. Unfortunately, the judges weren’t impressed with her stick figures. So she dropped the dream of becoming a world famous illustrator and stuck to spinning stories. When she’s not busy working on her latest book, she loves to travel with her family and friends. By far, her favorite destinati ...more
